My wife and I are fans of Papyrus and frequently purchase cards and other gifts from their stores when we lived in California. Upon moving to the Massachusetts area last year, we quickly found Papyrus at the Natick Collection. However, each time we have gone into this store, we have not been greeted. Our experience has been very consistant across many visits in the past year. Recently, my wife again visited the store. The male associate saw her and ignored her for 10 minutes. For whatever reason, when another lady entered the store, he immediately dropped what he was doing and greeted that lady and assisted that lady with finding her items. Upon seeing this, my wife left the store and found the Hallmark nearby where she was immediately greeted and helped.

Ugh. So I am a big fan of Papyrus in regards to their products — they have really nifty stationary and usually a good collection of random books you usually wouldnt have found anywhere else. This is the only thing that saved them from one star. But without fail, this location always blows. First off it is SO cramped its nearly impossible to navigate. I went int the other day and had a bunch of bags and could navigate any aisle other than the main one. Even if I didnt have bags it would have been difficult. If your handicapped in any way, even just a slight limp — forget about being able to get around in this store. While I was there a woman in a wheelchair attempted to enter and promptly left because she couldn’t even get past the first display. Oh and the women behind the counter just stared, didn’t offer to help or retrieve items for her or anything. Even worse — the staff was super unfriendly. They weren’t blatantly rude — but they were unfriendly. I found a book and went up to the register and the old woman behind the counter didn’t even crack a smile. She hurriedly rang up my item and scowled at me when I gave her a credit card. After she gave me the bag I smiled warmly and said happy holidays and I hope she had a nice day. She didn’t say thank you, didn’t smile, no ‘happy holidays’ back. Nothing. You don’t need to be bubbling over with holiday cheer or anything, but you could at least smile. Im sorry your old and working in a mall — but don’t take it out on the customer. End of story. I will most likely not return to this location. If I’m paying premium prices for stationary etc. I expect to have a pleasant experience.

I’m a stationery junkie and have an obsession with pretty things and glitter. Papryus has a wide selection of beautiful and creative cards and gifting materials. Don’t get me wrong, the stuff is nice, but can be pricey. That’s why I love the after-Christmas sale when the holiday items are 50% off. –1 star for selling Porn for Women 2010 calendar — this just DOESNOT belong!
