Wonderful service — Michael was great! We pulled in during Winter Storm Jonas — food and drinks were way above our expectations! Great start to our weekend!

The ambiance gets a 5 star rating on its own, and the service is great. The beer prices are also pretty decent, and do not match the upscale ambiance at all, which is a good thing. However, the mixed drinks were terribly iced down and they were pretty shy with the booze component. Other than that, I absolutely love that deck.

I was blown away by this bar! The ambiance is stunning and the views of the city are phenomenal! The chef came out to personally thank us for our service and after speaking to him for a few minutes… he told us about his secret menu! He whipped up these bad ass wings. Keep in mind, I am NOT a wing gal. They were filled with flavor and spice!!! We also ordered the cheese plate, $ 180 of drinks, and a few appetizers! The service was impeccable and the bartender whipped up some off menu drinks that we asked for. We told him what we liked and he delivered!

Kyle and Ryan were great bartenders. We enjoyed our evening at Up. Amazing drinks and atmosphere. We will definitely be back to Up when we come back to Nashville!

Stunning view + delicious cocktails. What more could I ask for? I came here for a birthday and I was very surprised at how busy it was that night. The whole patio was full of people. I can’t blame them. The view is outstanding! This is such a nice place to come if you’re looking for something nice and relaxing. I ordered pisco sour cocktail and it was SOGOOD! I loved it! It was $ 12 but it was really really good. My fiancé had a margarita and he enjoyed that as well. The price for food is not bad at all. I ordered a pizza for $ 13. They have a complimentary parking so no need to worry about that. I am looking forward to coming back to this place!

Great service from every single worker. Starting from the host who greets you to the server who takes your order. The view overlooks the city Nashville from a good distance. The sunset was lovely. We ordered the Frites which is really yummy by the way. We only order the appetizers. The chicken wings were good but I isn’t think it was worth the money. They were very tiny and came with a little bit of pieces. The drinks were fancy and delectable, which really complimented the atmosphere of the restaurant. It is definitely a place to relax and unwind after long day at work.

3.5 stars, but they handled their service issues the right way, so I’m bumping it up to 4. First, the space is fantastic. So pretty. Weird location, a bit off the beaten path(yes, it’s near the Gulch, but it’s hardly«in» the Gulch). But the space itself is great. Comfortable chairs and incredible views. The rooftop patio is wonderful. The drink menu is also fantastic. I had a strawberry basil gimlet that I have continued to dream about for the past few days. Seriously, so tasty. The service, well, that left a lot to be desired. We must have come in at a bad time, because the bartenders were swamped. After waiting 10 minutes, I was finally able to order a beer for my husband(they weren’t ready to take a «real» drink order yet). I asked for a Heinekin, which was on the menu, and was told that they don’t have Heinekin and that they only had Stella. Only had Stella? There were 6 or 7 beers on the list… whatever, I had waited too long to argue and luckily he was OK with Stella. I then waited another 10 minutes for my drink. Yes, that’s 20 minutes of waiting at the bar. Which would have knocked this review WAY down if the bartender hadn’t been super nice about it and comped my drink once he realized how long I’d been waiting. He absolutely handled it the right way, and it totally redeemed the experience. If I was going to go back, one thing I would do is call ahead of time to make sure they weren’t shutting down early(either technically or effectively) for a private party, which happened to us on Saturday. That was kind of a bummer to have to relocate, especially since you’re a few blocks from anywhere else.

My first encounter with UP lounge was their grand opening. My thoughts. It was new. several things to work on. A couple of months later I decided to go on a Wednesday night. It wasnt busy at all but it was hard to get service. The place has a nice view. That’s about it. The few drinks I’ve ordered have been subpar … How do you mess up a mule ?? Hoping the bartenders get it together because UP has potential !

It’s too bad to read complaints about the food and service, as Up has a lot of potential and was quite the welcome surprise when it opened. I think the trick in coming here is to be very deliberate in timing and purpose. From my experience and from reading those of others, timing is crucial: come here on an off-night and late. I did just that with a friend and had a fantastic experience. It was just the two of us for the majority of our stay. We sat in oversized leather chairs, looked at the views of SoBro and Downtown and drank well-made cocktails. It was fantastic. Also paramount to our good experience… we came here for drinks. Just drinks. No apps. No dinner. No dessert. Drinks. After all, Up is a rooftop lounge. Come here for drinks. I think if you abide by the rules, all should be well. My drink of choice while I was here? The Bonnie & Brown. Granted, it was cold and I wanted a stiff drink to warm me up but I was a bit overwhelmed by the choice. Again, Up(at that time) was pretty newish and the snob in me didn’t anticipate such well-curated options atop a Fairfield Inn. That was my mistake. Take some time and mull over the menu(hence coming late on an off-night). You’re not going to want to rush your choice. Since I had no clue what I wanted other than something strong yet palatable, my bartender chose for me. The B&B is a nice blend of bourbon, peach bitters, lemon juice, and agave. It was just what I was looking for. As I sat back, sipped my drink, laughed with my friend and enjoyed the view, I thought about what an unexpected winner Up was. It’s sad to read that others haven’t had the same experience. The potential is still there, though. It just might be the case where to reach it, you have to play by the rules. The rooftop views compete well with many others in the city.

Valet parking at a Fairfield Inn to go have drinks on the roof seems completely random — and it is — but this place isn’t your average hotel bar. Valet is free if you’re going to Up; they gave us an Up business card to have ‘validated’(I think they just scribbled a signature on the back, but ok). From the hotel lobby there is a dedicated elevator that only goes to Up, it’s very clearly/obnoxiously marked. Once you get to the top, the view of the entire Nashville skyline from the outside patio is fantastic! I tacked on an extra star for the great view, though. Otherwise it was more of a 2 star experience. The service was really slow and I didn’t love either of my pricey drinks. The American Mule was pretty flavorless and the White Sangria tasted like syrupy sugar water. Another person also ordered a White Sangria at the same time and hers tasted completely different(and even looked a different color), so I’m not sure what the deal is. It was also pretty packed on a Tuesday night, so I can’t imagine how it is on a weekend. I wouldn’t mind giving it another shot for the view and atmosphere, but I’ll keep it to a week night and next time I’m sticking to some foolproof beer or wine.

One Hot Mess! In a town that has an amazing nightlife scene this place needs help! The view is awesome but the service stinks! Walked in at 6pm on a Saturday evening for a drink or two before heading out downtown Nashville. Wait for outside seating was 25 mins(or so we were told) so we opted to sit inside. No Big Deal because the view is still great. Waited for about 5 mins watching the 3 bartenders and 5 waitresses at the bar joking around and cutting up. Waited a few more mins and then asked one of the servers if we could order some drinks. To which she walked back to the bar, cut up some more and the returned to take our order. Drinks were okay but it took quite a while to get them. We had allotted ourselves 2 hours to have a few drinks before heading out and only ended up having one. What a shame the service was so bad because the view was great.

Going to a rooftop lounge at the Fairfield Inn is not my general MO, but a happy hour was planned there so I went. We know happy hour is my MO! Go in the hotel and catch the elevator to the top floor to get to UP. There is a nice indoor bar area with a U shaped bar and then a large rooftop patio outside. A beer/wine stand is outside if you don’t want to go in to get your drinks. And there’s waitstaff too. I preferred liquor so I got my mule from the bartender inside. Extra points for him making it strong — perhaps because of the fact that we told him we were locals? Food options are just appetizers and snacks like cheese plates and dips with chips and such. Good to soak up the booze but not going to fill you up. The clientele was after work happy hour people early on and then it kind of changed to a more clubby, DB vibe as the night went on. So plan your visit accordingly. But why are you really here? It is to have cocktails and check out the awesome view of downtown Nashville. And this place has spectacular views. Try it to start the evening for something different and then go kick it somewhere else later!

Really enjoyed this place. Don’t be fooled by the fact that it is on the top of a medium priced hotel. I was reluctant because of that. I was wrong! Here, its about the view and the drinks. Most everyone was gathered on the outdoor patio portion in the early evening sunshine. The main bar is in the indoor area. The cocktail selection was quite creative. We didn’t eat, but the food looked and smelled excellent. The bar service was a little slow, but they were completely slammed, for good reason. We will be back!

I was planning a fun little networking get-together for about 10 – 15 of my friends & heard about this new place that had just opened called«Up.» Someone described the beauty of the rooftop view, which is what sold me on the location, and it did not disappoint. First of all, we got free valet parking which made the whole experience so convenient. It’s really nice to find a place in Nashville where you don’t have to worry about finding a place to park. The staff was extremely accommodating. It had rained earlier in the evening, but the sky had just cleared upon our arrival so we wanted to sit outside. The furniture was still wet, so they quickly sent out a crew of workers to get everything toweled down & dried up, just for us. Our bartender, Haley, was quick-witted, beautiful, and charming. For being such a boisterous party, she served us with excellence. My entire party loved the food, loved the view, and loved the service. I will definitely be hosting more events there in the future. It’s a one-of-a-kind spot in Nashville, so put it on your list of places to visit.

Good place, great view, delish drinks. I think that the service could be better but thats also a problem you face when you have one person commandeering the whole restaurant. I think if they had a couple of people, things would run more smoothly. It took a decent amount of time to get our food, three appetizers, and for the waitress to bring us our drinks. However, like I said, I don’t blame her and think this could be easily remedied if they brought on a few more servers. Overall, it was a good experience and the cocktails were some of the best I’ve had in Nashville. The parking is nice because you do get complimentary valet or free self-parking(a rarity in Nashville) and there’s a separate elevator specifically for Up. Thus, you don’t have to go on the elevator with hotel patrons and wait for them to go to their respective floors. The food itself is really good. I’ve been to Up twice, and have not had a bad bite to eat. I would definitely return with some time on my hands and bring a couple of people, not a big group. FYI: it is open seating.

For my birthday my sister and brother in law let me pick wherever I wanted to go and I picked numerous places. I think we went to a total of 4 places that night and I am going to say that Up was by far my favorite. It’s on top of the Fairfield Inn and Suites in the Gulch which you would never know at first. They have complimentary valet which is so nice. The valet hands you a ticket and you just have to have one of the bartenders sign it. The lobby of the hotel was very upscale for a Fairfield as you walk into an elevator and take it up to the eighth floor. Once you step out of the elevator you step into a very relaxed lounge. The views are the best part. I can’t wait for it to get warmer so I can hang out on the patio and really enjoy the views. We did not get anything to eat so I can’t vouch for anything on that end but the drinks were really good. I had the stirred not shaken. I forget what all was in it but it tasted great. I just think the ambiance is what makes this my favorite part of the night. I didn’t feel rushed. I could just enjoy my drink and take in the fantastic Nashville skyline. The two bartenders that were working that night were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

A great spot, with a relaxed upscale but not pretentious vibe. Great views of the city. Our mixed drinks, while pricey, were the best we’ve had this side of the Patterson House — a great selection as well. We didn’t try the food, but were told that many of the items on the sparse menu were not available. This is a great place to come for a low-key evening drink, and the view from inside the loiunge, as well as the view from the large, heated rooftop balcony is awesome. Parking is free valet, and there is an express elevator to the lounge, a la Catbird Seat, We’re glad Up is in Nashville, nicely done!

We brought a group of 4 people to check out the new space and had a very nice experience. The biggest downside was an overly miked singer whose volume was too loud for such a small space. There weren’t any actual dining tables but more of a lounge atmosphere and we were able to snag a small table with 4 easy chairs. We ordered some cocktails; I had a gin concoction and my BF had a bourbon sour. They were both very good and they had a nice wine list too with a variety of wine options at different prices. Let’s just say that we ordered a lot of food. Some of the plates were pretty large and others were smaller but all of them were interesting. Some of the table favorites were the cheese and meat plate, the pork belly, vegetable dish, and I loved the mussels. It was all very good, and had a French meets Southern flair. The head chef came around to ask how we were liking everything and that was a nice touch to the experience. The real gem of this place is the outdoor patio with fantastic views of the Nashville skyline. I cannot wait to come back and check out the food and drinks while enjoying a lovely Nashville day!
