I have been in two separate occasions and only had wine. Both times the service has been less than par which has tainted my review. When inquiring about the sparking rose grape varietal they weren’t sure and seemed agitated I was asking questions about the wine. I love that there is a Unilocal check-in 50% a single glass– which made it much better. They also have a good happy hour. Id love to try the food or possibly a cheese plate and go back for the tastings. They do seem to have a good wine list and diverse selection by the glass, I just wish the service would come up to standards.

On a whim we decided to stop by for a drink. We felt so welcome there that we ended up getting a bottle of wine and a charcuterie platter. The chef came out and explained the cheeses which were all so good and unique! We really had a great experience and the staff was super nice!

I wanted to rate Rumours on Division higher, but was terribly underwhelmed with our experience. I felt the service was slow, and our waitress greeted our table with«decided on what you want to drink?» No, «hello, my name is ____, welcome to Rumours,» etc. She was very terse. I ordered a decaf coffee(we ate there for dinner) and she told me they didn’t have decaf, but went on to French press a regular coffee for me. Does that mean they didn’t have any decaf grounds in the whole building? Can you not French press decaf grounds? Also, she only came back to ask if I wanted more coffee when I was finished with my cup(never offered to tip it off to keep it warm.) We ordered an app, brussels sprouts, which seemed to be doused in lemon, almost to the point where they became inedible. We skipped entrees because this was our second stop of the night and opted for the chocolate truffle cheesecake for dessert. It was DIVINE and saved our experience. I can’t fully recommend Rumours based on our experience, but it seems like a good place to sit at the bar and order some wine.

Very slow service and limited by the glass wines. They do offer a 50% off a glass of wine if you check in on Unilocal. The patio outside is very romantic!

It all began with the welcoming staff. Smiles abound as we were led to our table. It was a culinary fantasy beginning with the scrumptious artisan cheese plate with fresh hot grilled bread & local honey. The colorful mozzarella salad with red and green sliced tomatoes had the perfect balance of tart and sweet. The house cured salmon tasted freshly made and flavorful with a horseradish aioli swirl. The ever-so tender Bear Creek beef cheeks were as rich as chocolate cake — no knife required! We even stayed for the soufflé textured blueberry purée cheesecake. All enjoyed with a robust libation from their expansive wine list. Thanks Rumours. There’s more than wine at Rumours Wine Bar!

Fantastic and knowledgeable service. Tasty small plates and great selection of wine at a great price. Only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the crowd it draws. That crowd being like most«nicer» places in Nashville where it’s packed with mostly early to mid 20’s of the following two grops: -«vandy kids» who think their new 30k/yr job and 2005BMW with a salvage title makes them on par with Donald Trump or Marissa Mayer. -«hipsters» who think that their discovery of Franzia two weeks ago makes them a Master Sommelier

They have decent wines. Their small plates are pretty ridiculously priced. Our server was OK she seemed more annoyed by us. I had the petite cheese plate which is one cheese. It came with a couple small tomato basil crackers and a couple small slices of rosemary bread. I wasn’t too impressed.

Mmmmmmmm! I came here last night for the first time and got the cheese plate w/local honey as an app and the steak tartare as my plate. It was all so fresh and good. This was my first time having tartare and I’m so glad I got it here! My cocktail was awesome as well, and they have a great happy hour menu. $ 3 for beers and $ 6 for cocktails. Another thing I loved was the service. They were so on top of refilling water and everyone was very friendly. I loved my experience here!

I really feel like this is one of Nashville’s best spots! I have been here three times over the past six months and enjoyed each experience. This past weekend I brought my mother here while she was in town and we had a great time. The interior is nice and cozy(there’s also outdoor seating) but I didn’t feel like the tables were too close together. They have an extensive wine list, obviously, but also local beers for beer drinkers. One thing that did disappoint me was that they seemed to have changed their menu since the last time I went(in November). Maybe it’s a seasonal change? They used to have a BLT crostini appetizer that I loved and a hummus appetizer so I was sad that wasn’t available anymore. These were some of the less intimidating appetizers which I feel like the menu is missing now. We ended up ordering a few appetizers instead of an entrée; we got the petite cheese plate, fingerling potatoes, fennel and quinoa salad, tomatoes with mozzarella and the deconstructed tiramisu for dessert. Everything was delicious, especially the salad and fingerling potatoes! Overall, we had a great experience. This place is not loud so you can have a conversation! There are TVs above the bar but I didn’t find these distracting. Our server was attentive and helpful, and I really enjoyed our meal there! I would recommend coming on Wednesday night for their appetizer/wine deal!

I’ve only visited twice and am hoping to return and give them one more chance because I really want to like this place. But for right now, i feel kinda«meh.» Don’t get me wrong, the happy hour alone is something to boast about: Daily from 4 – 7 with specials on beer, wine and mixed drinks. My first visit, with a reservation on a Thursday night, consisted of food and drinks. I had been craving mussels for awhile and I had my mind set on them. I added the shrimp to my White Wine and Capers w/Feta Mussels Bowl for an extra $ 4. My meal was ok flavor wise, but didn’t wow me like other similar dishes have in the past. The feta melted into the warm broth and so I didn’t really get a taste of it, but the shrimp added a nice texture to round out the meal. My husband, a meat and potatoes kinda guy, ordered exactly that– the Sirloin Steak, which came with potatoes and green beans and he really enjoyed it. My favorite part of the meal was the dessert– a caramel, butterscotch pudding– mostly because i love anything caramel and it was also gluten free; a rarity at restaurants. Our server seemed a bit distracted all night, like she had a lot on her mind. We all have days like that, I get it. But her lack of facial expressions, except for a blank stare made me feel like I was talking to a wall. She still received an appropriate tip because service was pretty good overall. My second visit, also a reservation for the day after Valentine’s Day, was a downer. We got there early and decided to sit at the bar instead. Those seats at the dining tables aren’t that comfy to be honest and don’t let me sit close to my beau so as to have a decent conversation. After being greeted, I asked about the happy hour menu, nowhere in sight(unlike the first visit), and the bartender said they were in transition to a new menu due to hiring a new chef. What we didn’t know was that it also meant a new menu they were trying out this V-Day weekend as well. I wish we had been told that when we called to make a reservation just a few days prior. My husband isn’t a foodie and likes to stick with what he knows. He had his heart set on the burger, which was not offered on the new menu and I really had my heart set on the Wedge salad with shrimp, also not offered. Bummer. There wasn’t much else he wanted to eat within a reasonable price and at this point I didn’t care for sticking around anyway. We finished our drinks and headed out to another restaurant to celebrate our belated Valentine’s Day. I will give this place one more shot. Perhaps the cheese plate selection they have. With a glass of wine, which never falters in selection nor taste. I’ve heard good things about Rumours East. Perhaps I should give them a try instead???

Rumours didn’t disappointment on a $ 20 Restaurant Week menu, which was an absolute steal. There may be some things that aren’t meant to be fried… but brussels sprouts definitely should be. And if Rumours teaches us anything, why stop there? Slather them with hearty chunks of Benton’s bacon and drizzle with vinaigrette. THAT’s how you do vegetables. This was my favorite course of the night. I think vegetables may be the way to go here, because the salad portion of the steak salad also kicked ass. Fantastic greens for the dead of winter, and I want the recipe sooo bad for that spicy buttermilk dressing. The steak itself, though, was not particularly impressive. It was actually cooked pretty nicely, but it was almost completely devoid of seasoning. Maybe that’s acceptable for a filet mignon, but not sirloin. Of course, if the phrase«wine bar» is any indication, you’ll likely be happy with whatever food you order because you’ll be too delighted by the wine selection to let it affect your mood. They have a real eye(tongue?) for the good stuff. I hope to be back soon.

OK Rumours. You’ve stepped it up. The drink specials, frequent offers, and improved service have pushed me to write a higher review. This place is pretty spectacular. We’ve had some great service my past few visits, and I love that they have ladies night on Wednesdays and allowed my BF to partake in the discount with me. Some places are pretty strict on no gentlemen getting a discount, even if they are with a lady. Their happy hour menu continues to impress, and I’ve gotten some pretty awesome food. Some favorites: –The Sauce Trio blows me away every time. Lavender goat cheese PLEASE –The burger… omg heavenly –Meat and cheese plate… also spectacular –Fried brussel sprouts –Pimento cheese is also out of this world They also have a «frequent customer» discount of $ 10 off for every 3 check ins on their ipad at the front door. Hello awesome. And don’t forget about their great happy hour M-F until 7pm and $ 10 off bottles of wine on Sunday. Rumours may not be the cheapest option out there, but damnit, they are tasty and offer you a lot of discounts if you look for them. I’m officially a fan!

Perfect spot for ladies’ night! This wine bar offers a ‘wine tasting’ any night of the week-four 2 oz. pours for $ 20. They started light with a Pinot Gris and ended with a Cab. All of the wines on the night of our visit were really delicious, and our waiter told us a bit about each of them when he brought them to us. They’ve also got some really tasty noshes. We devoured a killer cheese plate, and also a selection of dips. We tended to not eat enough substance with our bread products, however, but our waiter was nice enough to bring us more(twice actually, once for each app). The patio, though sort of on the corner of a busy street, ends up feeling rather secluded thanks to the pergola, twinkle lights, and landscaping. They’ve got a happy hour daily or nearly daily, with many specials on drinks and bites!

I really want to give more stars but just can’t do it. A few girlfriends and I went and checked this place out last weekend. Cool atmosphere and patio. We ordered some drinks and unfortunately one of my friends did not like what she ordered. We asked that it kindly be switched out for something else and our server said no and that she would get in trouble. It’s too bad that a simple goodwill gesture like that could not be afforded. Instead of comping a $ 10 drink they lost a nice tip and many customers which should be of more value to a small business. On the plus side the 2 apps we ordered were tasty — although the pimento cheese was literally served with 4 crackers for 4 people! Time to provide additional was super slow. Sorry Rumors, keep trying.

The food is absolutely amazing! We had the black bean and sweet potato cakes and Irish stout Mac and cheese, and oh my goodness… awesome! The service, on the other hand, is not good. Our server was terrible. He was obviously unhappy with his current choice of employment and I wish he would’ve done us all a favor and gone on home. No water refills. No checki-ins to see if we needed anything(aka. wanted to spend any more money, which we did, BTW). Boo. We moved to the bar in hopes of getting better service and to get out of our server’s hair. I used to frequent this place while on 12th South, and it still goes down in my books as the best food and wine in my history, but I’ll think twice now. Hopefully things will change and our server will find his calling… elsewhere.

I would give this spot a 3.75÷5.00 if possible. Since I can’t, I rounded up to 4.00÷5.00 for the delicious wine and great atmosphere. On my visit to Nashville, a friend who has lived in Nashville for 3 years suggested going to Rumours. It is labeled a Wine Bar for a reason — the waitress recommended a medium body French Pinot Noir that was easy to drink and did not break the bank. The wine went down like water, resulting in splitting two bottles between two people. We paired the wine with the cheese plate, the meatballs, & the mussel bowl with spaghetti. The cheese plate came with four wedges of cheese, including a delicious goat cheese, tomato marmalade, nuts, and an array of bread and crackers. I enjoyed all of the cheeses, except the Dijon, and would recommend asking to substitute this cheese for an additional goat cheese or the server’s suggestion. The mussel bowl came fresh to order in a white wine & capers sauce topped with feta cheese. I will most definitely order this plate on my next visit to Rumours and highly recommend it to any guest. Lastly, the meatballs were tasty but tiny. I expected the serving size of 4 meatballs as it was on under the small plates section on the menu. I was surprised that the 4 meatballs were roughly 1 inch in diameter. Still, the carrot-apple-fennel slaw complement the dish perfectly. At $ 8 a plate, I would suggest a try if you like meatballs but recommend ordering at least 2 for tables of more than 2 people. Two bottles and a few small plates later, we stumbled out vowing to revisit the next time that I visit. I hope to go back when the weather is a nicer to sit in the gorgeous outside area.

Lets start by saying that I am a huge fan of Rumors East so I had to run to Division when l heard that this one had opened. The décor and ambiance was superb. We were seated in the back room and I instantly fell in love. I was already thinking about why I needed to host an event so I would have a reason to rent it out. I started the evening with the Starry Night Zinfandel. The wine menu was impressive. I was a little overwhelmed and our server didn’t seem to be interested in helpings out which was the only negative thing about our dining experience. For dinner we decided to try a bunch of share plates. I will say that my favorite was the mussels and the brussel sprouts!!! I look forward to going back many many many more times!!!

I have an inkling that I will be upgrading this 4 star review to the Holy Grail of 5 stars very very soon… the only reason that I’m am refraining at this time is because I want to wait until my 2nd visit and try some of the items from their well-crafted menu first! I was also very pleased to see some alluring veg-friendly options throughout their courses. My galpals and I walked over after we departed an event at Sambuca as I had unfortunately missed their soft-opening the week before. Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical about this new location on the ground floor of the Gulch neighborhood’s Icon building as it seemed like such a big departure from the cozy little cottage previously nestled in 12 South. My reservations subsided as soon as I walked into this cozy yet beautiful space and was personally greeted warmly by the owner Christy Shuff. She literally hopped off her barstool and happily seated us herself. I instantly felt warm and fuzzy. Next up was the vast wine, cocktail, and spirits list that will certainly squash any rumors(like what I did there?) that this spot is solely a wine bar. I was tempted by their rendition of a Moscow Mule but couldn’t resist the 5 ounce pour of Malbec($ 11) that was beckoning me. Mama need a robust glass of red and that is exactly what mama got. As we sat at our cocktail table that was positioned in the center of the room, I was able to observe the entire space. From the gorgeous wall of libations and wine flanking the entire back wall of the bar to the thoughtful mood lighting, stunning windows throughout, and soon-to-be enjoyed patio, this spot boasts a ton of character in a relatively small space. They did a great job with the layout and utilizing every nook and cranny as I didn’t feel claustrophobic at any time. Besides the owner Christy being such a charismatic delight, our server was friendly, efficient, and professional throughout our experience too. The hummus plate and brussel sprouts will definitely be on the agenda too. I look forward to my next visit and have a feeling that this will be a place that you’ll see me in «check-in» frequently, Unilocalers! TIP: Bottles are $ 10 off on Sundays here and can be corked!
