wow… next-to-last-night before closing and there’s less than 15 people in here, not counting wait staff… the lack of customers is in no way reflective of the popularity however more likely due to the free«thank you buffet» they had a week or so ago… tonight’s dinner and anything anyone wants tomorrow is «on you»… so I’ll take a coke and a monte cristo, thank you, and a big half gallon of chicken noodle soup to go… tomorrow I’ll probably come back for breakfast or lunch… Such a shame this landmark and icon is going to be replaced with a high rise … I sure hope this isn’t a sign of the times … so that next we’ll be reading about the tear down of other local bars… on other famous corners… are there really so few dilapidated buildings in need of demolition that they need to take down established town«must-see“s ?? shame shame it’s so sad. The chicken noodle soup has nursed me through several winters and was my main reason to ever go. I’ve been several times racing up I-65 in haste to get there before closing because I was craving a soup… The perfect Monte Cristo was just the«bonus»… sorry to see you go, Nosh downtown!!! update !! :-(had a «last meal» now I gotta find somewhere else to eat downtown

This used to be one of my faves, but the quality has really deteriorated of late. The staff seem enthusiastic, but very poorly trained. Clearly, management is not up to snuff. If you want to spend the much of your night in the loo, this is a great choice. Otherwise, stay away.

Some of the best breakfast in Nashville. One of the best delis and a good beer selection. Excellent sandwiches. The chicken soup is the bomb.

I was really wanting to like this place as I love NYC/kosher Delis. The service is excellent but the food is just ok. I had the hot ham and cheese sandwich and the bread was absolutely smothered in butter but not in a good way. I wish it was good as I am a big proponent of locally owned & operated places and Nashville lacks those.

It really is a little bit of New York in Nashville but not the best part of New York. We sat at the counter and split a knish. It was good. The menu really is traditional deli food so there aren’t a lot of interesting options for vegetarians. You know that veggie sandwich with cucumbers, sprouts, and cheese which passed for veggie options in the ‘80s but is now reasonably repulsive.

This is the place to go to get a great breakfast! It’s a true diner with amazing food and staff. I always end up grabbing a meal with family when they are in town here because it’s so easy to find great food. The Potato cakes are my favorite thing on the menu, even though its only a side option. The omlets are great, and the bagel and lox are a go to!

I have used the take out option here several times and you would think I would have learned my lesson. I love a good deli and I kept thinking this was a good deli. All three times my take out order was either the wrong sandwich or missing ingredients like sauce on the side or even just dressing was missing along with apple sauce for the potato pancakes. I will not return should have quit after the first time but was hoping it was just one error.

Great service, mediocre food. This was my first time coming to Nashville and I was staying at a hotel down the street. I wanted to go to another restaurant but this was a place that didn’t have a wait. I walked in and was seated immediately and my waiter Dillion came right over, he was great and polite. The food came pretty quick. I ordered the Tennessee club, it was huge and came with fries. The sandwich wasn’t amazing, it was just ok. It came with fries and they were a little undercooked. If I was back in Nashville I would not come here but I’m giving it three stars because they had great service.

Our hotel didn’t have bagels as a breakfast option and this place was a short walk so we decided to check it out. The interior is kind of like the old school diners and that was fine with me. I had a plain bagel with butter and coffee. The bagel was pretty underwhelming. It didn’t taste like a true bagel but rather a bread doughnut. The coffee was fine but not worth finishing the cup. We wanted a latte but the machine was broken. The service was fine, efficient and friendly. I don’t think I’d stop in again for a bagel since there are many option places to try.

We went here on a Saturday morning that Vandy happened to have their football home opener. As you can imagine, the place was packed. Rather than wait the 30+ mins for a table, we opted to sit at the table. Being very hungry, we opted for the«Breakfast in a Bowl». Our server said it was her favorite item on the menu as it contains everything. The food was great and filling. The service also was great with constant refills on both the coffee and water.

After many visits to Noshville over the years, I decided to go back one last time before its closing in January. I’m a huge fan of pickles — and I love theirs. Plus, the breakfast itself is pretty good and the line is never too long. As we sat down, we were greeted by a nice waiter who asked if we were ready to order and we said we need more time. He got our drinks and returned within a minute and asked again if we were ready. Caught off guard, we said sure whatever. This trip seemed to be just like the others as I received my salami and eggs and my party received their food. Everyone got exactly what they asked for and everyone was satisfied. That was until I noticed I had an EATEN orange as my garnish and my party had an entire orange slice. I politely said to the waiter, «excuse me, I think that this orange you served me has been eaten.» He said in response that it was not eaten, just twisted. And that he could ensure me it was not eaten, but it was in fact«twisted». I said, I’m pretty sure it’s eaten… so he took my plate removed it and came back. I finally asked if they could re make my order because only God knows what kind of germs were on the plate. The manager came and assured me that it was not eaten. Not once did he apologize or offer to make the situation any better. Curious as to see how many other oranges were«twisted» I walked around the restaurant to see that nobody else had the same issue as I. Clearly they gave me an eaten orange and were prepared to do nothing about it. It’s no wonder they are going out of business come January. If you eat there, I would make sure you don’t get my leftovers on your plate…

Great place for breakfast. I ate breakfast at Noshville 2 out of 3 days that I was in town. French toast was amazing! I am not a potato eater but everyone else in my party went crazy for the potato cakes. Coffee is also worth mentioning, it is getting harder and harder to find a good cup of coffee these days but Noshville has some good beans. Good sized portions as well.

I will certainly be sad to see Noshville, along with JJ’s, replaced by a 25 story high rise. Nashville, please stop growing. I like you the way you are without the eyesores. Moving on from the depressing introduction… Noshville is fun and casual spot with not-your-average diner food. Some of my favorites on the menu: –Griddle cakes — They’re bigger than the size of my face and they’re so good and FLUFFY. I like to order them with one of their compotes(aka just a fancier way of saying jam?) –Matzah soup — Wow… this stuff is amazing. Trust me and get it. –Omelets — Yes, they’re a little greasy, but they hit the spot, especially on a hungover-and-ravenous kind of morning. –Complimentary dill pickles — Is it weird that I like them with ketchup? In conclusion, LONGLIVENOSHVILLE. I will miss you dearly.

We recently moved to Nashville from New York and couldn’t help but noticing that Noshville is advertised far and wide as the best and most authentic deli in town. Just looking at the menu they seem to have a solid selection of cold deli meats and salads, plus some jewish comfort foods like matzo ball soup and knish. I’m always up for a good sandwich and this is apparently the best, so how could we go wrong? Unfortunately, the meal went wrong in a lot of ways. The waiter had a tough time accurately taking down our order, which consisted of two basic sandwiches with no special preparation. My partner ordered a Rachel on marble rye. It came out on plain white rye all greasy with fake butter, and wasn’t very tasty. I ordered a turkey and tongue sandwich on rye bread, with a side of thousand island dressing. The waiter tried to confirm several times, seriously, that I had ordered a turkey and ham sandwich. It seemed like he didn’t know what«tongue» was in the context of a deli and had never seen this ordered before. Once that was cleared up, he then wanted to confirm that I wanted my sandwich hot on toasted marble rye. Several more times I had to explain that I wanted: Meat. Rye bread. That’s it. Don’t toast it. Don’t warm it up. A side of thousand island would be nice, thanks. Of course, my sandwich came out on toasted marble rye and was oddly warm. A solid F for effort on the part of this waiter. The food was generally just not very good. The turkey advertised as «fresh roasted» tasted like cheap grocery store lunch meat that was sliced and left to sit uncovered in a fridge all day… dry, tasteless, and starting to flake apart. Taking a look at the deli case confirmed this — the meats there were the same brand you might buy at any local grocery. Nothing«fresh roasted» here. The pickles had an aftertaste of menthol and licorice. Very strange. Despite the waiter’s multiple comments about how craazy big their portions are, the servings were quite skimpy and absolutely not worth the money paid. Despite his multiple comments about how great the food looked… it didn’t look that good, and tasted pretty crummy. It’s not really clear if the management here has never seen a deli before, or if they just have bad taste and are hoping that tourists and displaced northerners will stumble into their restaurant. Don’t bother going here. It’s not good and there are a million and one places with better food and better sandwiches in Nashville.

Came here on recommendation from friends who loved it when they visited Nashville last year. Noshville is a diner with an old school vibe. I ordered the breakfast bowl which was potato cakes topped with their homemade corned beef hash, bacon, poached eggs, cheese, jalapeño and tomato. I just ordered the small bowl with a small fresh squeezed OJ. Hubby had the potato pancakes served with applesauce and sour cream and an everything bagel. He enjoyed everything. Prices were reasonable and the service was good.

We came here for breakfast. The service was great, and the food was decent but nothing that blew my mind. It kind of had the feel of a Denny’s. They had a sign for free valet parking.

The place is expensive! I have eaten at Noshville twice, both times in the early afternoon ordering breakfast items. The service has been excellent, the food well prepared, and the atmosphere enjoyable. It has a real«diner» feel. The portions are not overly generous, pretty much what you’d expect, but the prices are way too high. I would recommend IHOP or Pancake Pantry for breakfast over Noshville every time.

Hits and misses from Noshville. Growing up eating Zingermans and the Stage delis in Michigan, I would not flock to Noshville for a corned beef sandwich; in fact, I won’t order one from here again. I had a pretty poor experience ordering corned beef by the pound to take home– it was a bit rubbery and nothing like what I was used to from up north. What I do love is the matzo ball soup. Great value too when ordering it carry out. As a tip, latkes are not on the menu but can be ordered; is recommend these over the potato pancakes they serve with breakfast. While not the best I’ve had, they will do in a craving. Wish there were more Jewish delis in town, but there just aren’t.

Stopped here for brunch today and had the breakfast bowl. SUPERDOPALICIOUS! I was in and out the restaurant in like 30 minutes, so that tells you how fast service and getting my food was. Will return for sure.

We loved Noshville. My husband and I stopped in for breakfast on the way to Belle Meade. I got the breakfast sandwich and he got a pastrami omelet. The design was retro and kitsch and it definitely lived up to its promise of being a New York-style deli. The servers knew exactly what they were doing and the service was prompt. We were stuffed for the rest of the day. Not to mention that the potato pancakes were a great alternative to typical hashbrowns. Give it a try.

Noshville is a good place to get your breakfast on. I have been here twice and haven’t been disappointed either time. The coffee and water were re-filled often, my corned beef hash was tasty and the overall time between sitting down and leaving was under one hour. The prices are reasonable for the portion of food received. The server was friendly too. There are bigger booths available for groups which is nice for families. It is definitely an «a-ok!» place for me.

Was looking for a place to get some breakfast near the hotel and stumbled upon this inviting restaurant. We came in at around 8:15am and ordered the following — vegetable omelette with potato hash(which look like latkes). Bagel Benedict with avocado, corned beef hash and potato latkes. Truly delicious food as I had expected in the South. Everything was seasoned well and really flavorful. Our waitress was really friendly and the service was outstanding. Would definitely return.
