Jack’s Bar-B-Que

Flavor is good. Meat was a bit dry today. But still good southern cookin’. I’m a big fan of the veggies, especially the greens!

Jack’s is a Nashville stalwart and a very solid barbecue joint that I would also classify as a meat and 3. They are all good quality and produced with consistency at both locations. The brisket is the star and the pies could be the unsung heroes. I prefer the Broadway location, but you really can’t go wrong at either.

Disappointed in the meat quality. Lots of cartilage and bone in the pork shoulder. Was second visit, and will be my last. Only reason it gets 2 stars is for the great sauces and free hand rub deal.

Amazing BBQ joint … there brisket is very good. Prices and not to bad also.

Best brisket I’ve had outside of Texas. Their ribs are also some of the best I’ve ever had. Jacks has several award winning sauces and they are amongst my favorite bbq sauces. The sides they offer are authentic and delicious. I would highly recommend Jacks to anyone.

Went here for lunch and had the brisket plate; it was perfectly done. Got side order of the slaw and baked beans. I’m a big fan of their sauces and we’ll go back to try the ribs tomorrow. I definitely recommend checking this place out. I’d go four and a half out of 5 but don’t have the option to do so. Definitely try the brisket

My family and I had our family reunion over the Christmas holiday in Nashville and Jack’s was suggested for one of our meals. When I say, EVERYONE was stuffed and satisfied, Jack’s truly delivered. The Catering Team was accommodating, friendly and provided us with everything we asked for. From the cornbread to the smoked turkey to the famous sauces, everything was delicious! Don’t waste your time eating anywhere else– this food is AWESOME!!!

Just do yourself a favor and stop on in. It’s worth your time. Solid BBQ.

Wife got food poisoning from the smoked turkey. Mac n cheese was bland and the kids wouldn’t even eat it — and they eat everything. We felt it was overpriced and not worth it. For 3 people it was $ 50 — not worth it in our opinion and left disappointed. Even more disappointed a few hours later when our trip to KY was cut short by food poisoning.

Great spot. Family that lives in town said the neighborhood is not the best but who cares. Great store! Clean, friendly and a great mix of people.
Holy Hot Links!!! The food is awesome! We stopped in with 11 of us and walked out the door under $ 100 and everyone was full plus a huge bag of left overs. We shared 2) family packs and a chicken pack. We had to get another pound of meat and glad we did. The turkey, chicken, pork and beef were all perfect. The sides we well above par and the sweet tea had plenty of sweet, almost chewy!
I wish we had BBQ in Chicago but this will be on the list for next time. I would almost suggest having carry out at the campground.

Great place to eat. Food very well prepared with generous portions. Would definitely eat here again. Friendly staff and clean restaurant and restrooms. Very popular with the locals, which is always a good sign!

I came here my accident. We tried going to another bbq joint, but it was Sunday and they were closed. Despite my extreme dispointment, I still wanted Barbeque and Unilocal point me here. We walked in 30 minutes before closing, and I have to say, I was impressed. I work in a gastropub in Los Angeles. I know how frustrating it is, to get customers to walk in that close to closing. And I was so taken back by how friendly and eager to help the staff was. We were greeted with smiles, they were patient as we figured out what to order, and answered all of our questions. Great staff and excellent service.
I ordered the smoked turkey breast and my dinner companion ordered the same. He had apparently had the pulled pork at the other location on Honey Tonk Highway. The smoked turkey was so juicy, so smokey, so lean, so delicious that I felt like I was in the scene from When Harty Met Sally. Total food-​gasm. It was honestly the best turkey I have ever had. my sides were the smashed sweet potatoes and the baked beans. Solid sides!
What is super fun about Jack’s Is that they have a plethora of BBQ sauce choices at their sauce bar. I got the spicy Texas blend and the mustard based bbq sauce. That Texas blend was a grand slam on that smoked turkey.
I am so glad they don’t have Jack’s where I live because I would be there every day. It’s a fantastic spot for quick barbeque, cafeteria style. And it won’t disapoint on smoke and flavor!

Our long drive from Oregon to Atlanta this has been the best meal by far in our search for great BBQ.
THis is not the classiest place by any means. It looked like it had been there for quite sometime and in need of some facelift… but then again that may be what makes it what it is.
I am sure it is a local favorite.
Oregon’s can do BBQ and we have a few similar places but just a couple that truly smoke their meat the way it should be done. This is like the homemade 20 napkins, large bib, and finger licking stuff !!
What I liked the best is choosing your own BBQ sauce. YOu can have the best meat and then the chef will smother it with, what they thing is the best BBQ sauce, and totally ruin it. Here you pick you own and put on how much you want or nothing at all and it will still be great.

Came all the way from California to experience real southern BBQ. It can’t get better than this! Super good. & the sides of sauces were off the chain! Deffiently get the ribs! The best part! (I wasn’t a big rib fan before. They fall off the bone!)

OH Hell Yeah! Tennessee BBQ! Yes please. This palace of goodness gets your taste buds dancing.
Friendly service. Easy to read menu with a very hometown feel. Order the combo plate. You can get a meat and 2 sides along with 6 difference sauces to choose from. This was simply heavenly.

Honestly this place was mediocre and everything just seemed super salty. The prices were a bit on the high side as well for what you get compared to other places in the area. The dining area was decent and free wifi was nice but when it came to food, I’d skip it. Brisket was also dry. Maybe I was there on an off day but it seemed like it got crowded for lunch. Maybe I was just spoiled having just been in Austin, TX.

This place is worth going too for great ribs, creamy mac n cheesiness, sweet and savory baked beans, mash potatoes are worth having. Green beans had a great smokey taste. Only thing I didn’t have the corn bread and there was no

Good God, get the ribs! They are wonderful. I was driving from Dayton, OH, to Montgomery, AL, and made this my top priority in terms of barbeque stops. I went to the other location in the city of Nashville for New Year’s a few years ago and loved it so much that I went out of my way to try it all again at this location right off the highway. Great ribs, great pulled pork sandwiches. I love the 911 sauce and the traditional vinegar-​based one as well. I like their green beans a great deal too. I happen to find this BBQ on Unilocal.I read their history and reviews. I was not hungry then but I made it somehow. As soon as you see the sign and building, I’m sure you get excited.
BBQ: St. Louise Rib is juicy and tender. Even the bones. Not salty nor sweet at all. TX smoked Sausage is ok. TX Brisket has a good smoke flavor but a little bit dry. Many reviews say that brisket is great but I prefer rib.
Sauce: 5 kinds. NC masterd, original TX, hot TX, Kansas City, TN original, something like that…
Side: Coleslaw has no mayonnaise and is fresh and crispy. Color green w/​ham is quite good.
Cornbread:A little bit sweet and fresh homemade.
I order 3 meats, 2 sides, bread or cornbread combo for $ 15.99 and got a free BBQ rub ($ 4.99) with checking in on Unilocal.
Really cool nostalgic interior and fantastic smell. The staffs are nice and fast.

Came in off the road on a long trip from Chicago — Atlanta — Florida and return. Great meal of brisket for me and Tennessee Pork Shoulder (pulled pork) for my girlfriend. Brisket was leaner than I thought it should be but very tender. Great taste too. Pork also very good. GLAD WE STOPPED and hope to be by there again.
