This is NOT Cantrells from the 80’s and 90’s!!! The food was terrible! I didn’t notice at first but where is the smoker or grill. Is the food even cooked there! Don’t waste your money!

The food was fine, nothing spectacular. There is no indoor seating, and little outdoor seating. The service wasn’t very friendly. I would suggest other bbq in Nashville.

Best pulled pork in town– very moist and full of flavor. Staff is always nice, and it’s mainly a to-go place– good for picnics, family get togethers, etc. Smoked chicken is great, greens are so good, and bbq baked beans are tasty as well.

It was good, nothing that wow’d me, but I like supporting small local operations. I was grossed out that pickles were places on the meat as an automatic thing, but that’s my weird OCD. Huge portions, food I thought was just ok, I will try it again and order something different and re evaluate.

The rack of ribs is a great deal — 15.95 for a pile of bones that fed me and my wife for two meals with about a pound of meat left to freeze for something creative later. Excellent dry rub and strong smoke flavor, with plenty of tenderness balanced by some nice chew. The pulled pork sandwich and chicken plate were more forgettable. I will stick with the ribs in the future. Sides were fine.

Wonderful food, great service, and the best vinegar BBQ in Nashville! Prices are reasonable and portions are huge.

Wait until East Nashville discovers that this joint is right in its backyard. Is it the best BBQ in Nashville? No. But damn if 8 bucks doesn’t buy you a plate so chock full of meat and grease that you don’t cry yourself to sleep that night. This joint is exaclty the kind of hole in the wall that I can’t get enough of — dingy décor, shit falling off the walls(or better yet — the walls are falling off the building), no air conditioning, and people complaining about the lack of air conditioning. You know, the kind of joint were BBQ comes from. The heart and soul of BBQ. The plates — pork shoulder, quarter chicken, short rib — must be a good half to three quarters of a pound — and two sides. The sides are straight out of a can, and even served right from a crock pot behind the counter. 4 stars for super cheap and tasty meat. One star off because the sides aren’t much to write home about.

I’ve only been in town a month, and i’ve only gotten food here once, so I reserve the right to change my opinion. That said– a whole, bar-b-que, succulent chicken for 8 dollars and fifty cents? Could life get any better? That’s cheaper than a convenience store pizza! Crazy! We got a rack of short ribs(16 dollars, a solid half a pig, enough for four, or three if you are very hungry) and it was so good we didn’t even need the sauce, so just used that on our own pork the next day. It’s mostly a take out place– which works out for me, since it’s on the way home for my dude, and I can call him up and ask him to pick it up– which I plan to do regularly. They do have some outdoor seating– I didn’t see any indoors, but i wasn’t looking, either.

Good Bar-B-Que from a quaint family style Restaurant. They have platters available or you can just order bulk shoulder, ribs, or chicken. A nice spot that is a little out of the way, but worth the trip.
