Food was ok service was lacking. There was plenty of help just not very helpful. Waitress took order dropped off drinks, expidier dropped off the food, waitress dropped check. Nothing in between. No refills no how was this prepared just standing in the corner in a group

Our last day in Nashville was a very cold day, so we wanted some hot breakfast food. We initially wanted to go to the Pancake Pantry but… the line was atrociously long. J. Christopher’s was no farther than 2 minutes away, no wait, and delicious food. The staff are all very friendly which is a plus! Definitely will be returning on our next visit to Nashville.

Very good. I had the bubba skillet she had the billy goat. It was everything I would expect, except it needed a strip of bacon(or two). The only meat was in the gravy. Blueberry crunch pancakes were very good. I like that they have the coffee pot on the table. Edwin, our server, was punctual and always came at the appropriate time.

Driven past this place several times in the evening when they’re closed but finally had the chance to stop for Brunch. Nice breakfast selection, I had«The Traditional +1». Basically bacon and eggs with an extra egg and extra bacon strip. The food was good, served quickly. The restaurant is bright and comfortable. They forgot my extra strip of bacon so then they sent out two! Score for me! They don’t actually toast the English muffins, just warm them so if you like it crisp I guess you have to ask. Coke products make it better. Next time I’ll try the burger.

I had higher hopes for this restaurant in our neighborhood. Denny’s quality food at Pancake Pantry prices.

Proximity-wise its fantastic-its near Belmont Hillsboro and never has a wait. Food-wise is in the ballpark of a great Denny’s. The food is definitely eatable but is not much to write about. I will continue to go back just because it’s pretty good food, the wait staff is friendly, the price is right and it’s relatively quick.

Sub sub par. You know something’s up when a restaurant had plenty of seats on Sunday at brunch time. I usually wait to review a place after several visits, but trust me, I am not going back. Our party of four was seated immediately by a polite but could-not-care-less hostess. We had interrupted her«deep» conversation with a server. Waited 10 minutes for our server to appear. Friendly, but frazzled. Coffee arrived. Okay. Tasted fine, but very weak. 45 minutes before our food appeared. We timed it. Place half empty, go figure. Eggs Benedict — «Hollandaise» sauce funky tasting — like out of a can. Omelette — cold on the bottom. Filling on mine was all on one side. Mushrooms very slimy and past their sell-by date. Smelly. Like chewing on rubber. Hashbrowns — not browned and cold on inside. I would bet good money that they were frozen food service potatoes that hit the grill top for a nano second. Grits — watery, lumpy, and tasteless. Obviously instant. Server asked if we wanted cheese grits or regular. One wanted cheese. Yellow in color but no cheese taste at all. Plus, he was charged extra. Server hadn’t mentioned that it was extra. Biscuits — surprisingly passable. Server had to be flagged down several times for coffee, butter, etc. I think they make them work in the kitchen as well. Prices — higher than what you’d pay for a real breakfast elsewhere. Bottom line: food looked picture perfect. But tasted like you were chowing down on the paper it was printed on. Horrible experience.

Good spot, but highly overpriced. They offer gluten-free items which are a plus. They show games(basketball, football, espn, etc.). Great set-up, great atmosphere, great servers, but the food is just overpriced.

I have gone here two times in the past two months, basically because its the only place open early in the area… and that is the absolute only reason. After my last experience I would rather go to Waffle House. The place is clean, the staff is friendly, but I’m pretty sure all their food comes directly out of a frozen bag or box. Totally generic, no seasonings to speak of. Oh yeah and a glass of orange juice is $ 3.

Bland and boring atmosphere. The coffee was very bad. My sandwich had lint on it. The food overall was not good. For instance, the potatoes were undercooked and mushy. I would not recommend this place at all. The only redeeming quality was that the service was good.

We happened upon this place because they have PARKING which is a premium in Nashville. The place was so good and so friendly that we ate breakfast here 4 days in a row. The area manager, Kenny, is an awesome asset to this Atlanta based chain. The food is typical southern. Great biscuits and gravy, benedicts, pancakes, and omelettes. If you are looking for a good reasonably priced breakfast while in Nashville this is a great option. They also have a location in cool springs area of Franklin, TN. Enjoy!

I LOVED this place! Yum! Away from the crazy traffic surrounding Vanderbilt, this is in a great spot with great parking. The breakfast menu was so good it was hard to pick! I got the eggs benedict AND blueberry crunch pancakes, all delicious. Although the hollandaise was a bit heavy on the lemon, I was still scraping the plate! Can’t wait to come back and bring friends and family!

I live in Texas and I’ve only been to Nashville twice but both times I’ve been here, I’ve been sure to go to J. Christopher’s. The place is really nice and cute on the inside(you get that Sunday brunch vibe), and the food is delicious. The service is very friendly and welcoming. The price is decent and the portions are satisfying. They have almost anything you can imagine for breakfast in addition to coffee, tea. etc. Definitely recommend it.

Coffee is terrible. Since this is a chain the food and management is uninspired. Pancakes are mediocre and staff was arguing about taking us as a table to wait on. We were just a couple out for breakfast. Pancake pantry is more fun!

Came here for brunch the day after Halloween last year. I got some variation of the veggie omelet, cheese grits, and possibly a biscuit. I wasn’t too overwhelmed by the omelet, but that could be my own fault for always ordering the same spinach and mushroom breakfast items that I could just make on my own at any time. But I DO remember being blown away by the grits. Oh my god. I really should’ve just ordered grits because they were creamy and savory and delicious. Staff here is nice and there is a bit of a wait, but at least you’re not standing in line on a Saturday morning for Pancake Pantry.

Stopped in for late breakfast, I’ve driven past this spot a lot, and always been interested. Casual atmosphere, with someone to seat u at the front door. I ordered eggs Benedict w/cheese grits. It came out quickly and the service was nice and attentive. Food was a little tasteless, but nothing a little salt, pepper and hot sauce couldn’t take care of. I did wish the music was a little louder to drown out the unbroken banter of this girl in the booth sitting across from me… But I understand, music too loud or too soft matters on the time of day and clientele. Overall, good place, I think I’ll try it again, tho probably a different dish.

A Good Breakfast Place to Try. It’s located on a somewhat busy street, especially in the morning, so there might be some local traffic on the way there. There is a decent amount of parking, but I’ve seen the parking lot full both times I’ve tried it out. If it’s during breakfast hours, you might have to play parking lot Tetris. I ordered out the times I’ve been there. People were friendly with the ordering process, and they got most of the things right, and the food was ready when I got there, although it took me way longer than expected because of traffic each time. Onto to the food: The Eggs Benedict is good, but the hollandaise sauce seems to lack a bit of flavor. I couldn’t really taste much of it, and just seemed a bit plain to me. Since I was vegetarian, I asked the«Benny» to be without bacon, but there was bacon on it anyway. It wasn’t that hard to remove, and I’m not one of those hardcore vegetarians that feel the world is ruined if some meat touches the bread(although I’m not fully vegetarian either, Hello Nathan’s I got my eye on you!!) so it wasn’t that big of a deal. The potatoes that come with the dish were very plain, and lacked much taste at all. I pretty much drowned it in ketchup after awhile, because it just had no flavor. The quesadilla with mushrooms were actually pretty good, and a decent option to have other than eggs in the morning. The guacamole wasn’t good though, and very apparently not fresh. After a few swipes, I left that alone, and just added hot sauce instead. I think with fresh guacamole, this would be an excellent egg alternative dish. The Huevos Avacado was good, probably the most well done of the dishes among the three that I tried(I skipped the Benny after the first time) and also feels lighter on the stomach afterwards. This comes with black beans, and it was actually some good beans for a change, definitely had some flavor to it and goes well with the dish. The pricing is a bit higher than I expected honestly, although I’m guessing it’s because it’s closer to the city than most of the places I eat at for breakfast. I’m not sure this place stands apart enough for the prices to be slightly higher, it’s pretty much standard affair that you can find at other chains as well. I liked the service and parking lot(on a busy street), but otherwise I can’t really say it was exceptional. I wouldn’t complain about eating here, but I also wouldn’t drag anyone here just because they have to try this place. I don’t think people would be disappointed here, nor would they be wowed.

I wish there were a way to separate service ratings from product ratings, but there is not — and therefore I am going to split it somewhere down the middle. The food is good. Always fresh and hot. I would rate it 3 – 4 stars because it is about what you expect from a breakfast/lunch restaurant. Nothing as fantastic as Monell’s but far better than IHOP. On another note, I recently had a memorable experience that led me to write this review. For the last 2 months I have been ordering breakfast to-go from J Chris a couple of times per week. 2 scrambled eggs and 2 pieces of turkey sausage. It is $ 5.24– you cannot beat the price for what you get! Anyway, each time I come in I ask for tobasco to sprinkle on my eggs. This morning one of my co-workers picked up my breakfast for me. When I opened the box there was a tiny container of tobasco in it. I asked my co-worker if he ordered the tobasco and he said no. I know that may not seem like a big deal, but to me that is excellent service! 5 stars!

Definitely a Meh. Used to go to J Christopher’s sometimes when I lived in Atlanta. I remembered it being better than this one… The eggs benedict is ok, but the hollandaise on top is not good– way too lemony and too much sauce in general. The kids liked their pancakes. Bacon was soggy. For the love of God why can’t people serve crisp bacon?! My husband had some sort of egg, hash and potato scramble in a cast iron skillet. He said it was«ok.» I would say it’s similar to Le Peep, but Le Peep is waaaayyy better. Oh, and the coffee said Bongo Java? no freaking way. tasted like McD’s coffee. I’d stand in line at pancake pantry before going here. Or Fido. Or LePeep you get the idea.
