Erol’s Autobahn Repair

Many, many thanks to Erol for his help with my ’76 300D that didn’t want to start. I was traveling from Virginia to Texas, and by luck, just happened to find his shop. He found the problem immediately, got the car started, and checked it over thoroughly. I made the long trip back to Stephenville, Texas without any problems. Nashville Mercedes and BMW drivers are very fortunate to have a fine shop like Erol’s Repair.

erol is the best. I travel all over the country often in my 1985 mercedes 300TD wagon and erol keeps this girl running perfect. he’s fair and won’t ever ever sell you on something you don’t need. he’s tried to talk me out of things that he thinks are unnecessary too. he’s old school so let them know when you are coming and leave it a day or two. he usually gets it done in a day though, obviously depending on what you’re doing. I can’t recommend him enough. I’ve driven from Idaho to nashville to get to erol. he’s the only one I fully trust. five stars!

Always pleased. Friends with a Mercedes recommended it to my parents when they purchased their first Mercedes, and they are now on their second, and still only use Erol’s. Now, I use them for mine. Rather than charge the dealer prices for the dealer recommended services, they will do only the work that the car needs, from the list of items recommended, saving a LOT of money and still taking great care of the car.

Happened to have car trouble, pulled over to the side of the road and a mechanic (Butch) was behind me. He stopped and checked out the problem and told me to come to Erol’s. I am really glad I went to Erol’s. Butch was friendly, professional and worked in a proficient manner. The price was fair and I was very satisfied with Butch’s job at Erol’s. Would highly recommend this place to anybody.

Simply the best service for a vintage Mercedes owner. Priced at half of a dealer and usually swamped with work so be patient.

The fairest of prices, excellent work, always satisfied… simply love this place and its people who try to accommodate you as best as possible.

The car I purchased had a ton of receipts from Erol’s that seemed to indicate a reasonable experience over the years. There were a handful of eyebrow-​raising ones here and there amongst them, but nothing screaming, «rip off!»
For a bit of background — I have done every single bit of my own car repair /​maintenance for the past, oh, 15 years or so. However, when amazon sent me the wrong brake lines I thought I’d give Erol’s a try for the job. and, after a quote for $ 250 to replace the brake hoses on all 4 wheels it sounded quite nice.
Then, well, blame it on me — I gave them an opening. After dropping off the car I remembered looking underneath and couldn’t determine whether the original fuel filter had been changed or not so I asked them to tend to that rather easy job as well thinking pricing would be commensurate with what was given for the brake hoses. (The fuel filter itself would cost ~$ 20 or so.) There are 2 banjo bolts (think hollow screws to allow fuel to flow through them) connecting the fuel hoses to either end of the fuel filter which itself is easily accessible under a panel held on by 3 screws.
Welllllll…i go to pick up the car and suddenly I’m faced with a total of $ 525, but they’re feeling gracious so he makes it $ 500 even. $ 250 + a $ 20 filter and an additional half-​hour of labor should’ve been, oh, $ 325 or so. yeah. lesson learned. I’ll continue doing my own maintenance, thank you.
To top it off — I opened the hood 3 weeks after the repairs and the cap to the brake fluid reservoir was missing! I found it wedged down beside the master cylinder indicating they had forgotten to replace it after topping it off. I called and Erol or his assistant told me it was of no concern. Have you ever read your brake fluid reservoir cap? Every one I’ve ever seen reads something like, «Make sure cap is clean before removing.» They don’t even want a small amount of dirt from the cap to get in there — MUCH LESS DRIVE AROUND FOR 3 WEEKS WITH IT MISSING!

This is my preferred shop for servicing my car. Erol always does a great job in delivering the highest quality service and keeps his promise on delivery time. They specialize in BMW and Mercedes. The prices are very reasonable especially compared to the ridiculous prices at the dealership.
I would highly recommend this place to anybody with a BMW or a Mercedes if you are looking for excellent service at a reasonable price.
