My two colleagues and I were looking for a coffee shop where we could spend an hour or two working on a joint project. We spent over $ 40 on coffee and lunch in The Daily Grind. Although almost all of the tables in the coffee shop were empty, the wait staff came over about four times while we were still eating to ask if we were finished, and if they could clear our plates. When we asked if there was wifi, they responded that they do not offer wifi on the weekends because it makes people linger. We worked on our project for about twenty minutes – while the tables were still almost entirely empty – before the owner came over to tell us that there was a time limit on tables, and asked us to leave before the lunch rush. We work in coffee shops on a regular basis, and we love to support local coffee shops. If there had been a lunch rush, we would certainly have left. Instead, we left because we felt unwelcome. Most of the time, buying a cup of coffee in a coffee shop allows you the privilege of spending an hour there. We were surprised that $ 40 only buys 20 minutes in The Daily Grind and an invitation to leave. We were looking forward to visiting Brown County and hanging out in a local spot. Instead, we went to the local library, which is gorgeous and has free wi-fi.

We are on our way from Illinois to ohio and are driving an hour out of our way to eat lunch at the Daily Grind. I talked my husband into it. Didn’t take much talking. I sure hope the owner hasn’t retired! It would break my heart! He is 75 per cent of the reason I go there! He just makes my day! The food is good, the atmosphere is good, I’m getting hungry just thinking about it!!! We are on our way! About 25 miles south of Bloomington!!!

This strange experience might have been caused by the fact that they were closing out their breakfast service for the day, but … I’ve never seen such bizarre eggs in my life except in hospitals and primary schools. I was ravenous and wanted to support a small, local business rather than getting a McSomething from a drive-thru. So, I made my way to this cozy coffeehouse in Nashville. I ordered a cheese & egg muffin(as they were sold out of biscuits) and a hot chocolate. The hot chocolate(2.95) was the grocery store variety, but the large helping of canned, whipped cream on top helped to elevate it a bit. I took my mug and moved into the seating area. They were very busy so I was lucky to snag a corner booth from a couple that was leaving. The a/c on the wall next to me kept vibrating my table, not a good thing. After about 5 minutes or so, someone brought me a very pale, breakfast sandwich. The English muffin was barely toasted with only a hint of color or heat. The eggs had the texture of small pebbles. The flavor and mouthfeel was so bad that I pulled the muffin(and some of the American cheese slice) off the so-called egg and ate those. I left the heap of yellow stuff on my plate. I think they must have been powdered or liquid(or from the most unusual chickens that ever produced). A person clearing a nearby table asked if I needed anything taken away, but she didn’t inquire about if there was come thing wrong with the eggs. Granted, the sandwich cost less than $ 3, but I’d have been better off with a fast food breakfast. At least with the big chains, I don’t expect them to care about my dining experience. I guess the tourist trade keeps prices up and customers always coming through here at least once. Disappointed to be sure.

The food is fine, I guess. I haven’t really had it much. But whenever I’ve come in for a quick coffee or tea it’s always bafflingly terrible. The coffee is always watered down and just tastes bad, and I’m pretty sure the tea they use is old because it tastes stale. Last time I was in town doing tourist things I had a latte, but I had to toss it after only a few sips. I feel bad about giving such a poor review, but bad coffee makes me feel worse. One thing in this place’s favor though is that their hot chocolate is good.

I love this little coffee shop! Tasty little breakfast selection, great coffee, and I adore the owner. He’s always around the counter taking orders and working the register or training new kids who work there and he seems like a great guy always cracking jokes. It’s a great relaxed atmosphere, good product good prices

This review is not based on the coffee, which is quite good! But on the manners of the owner/manager and way he treats his staff, he is rude, impatient, belittling. I found it extreme offensive, the girl trying to take care of me was doing fine job, but he kept on her about non consequential things, I as a customer was embarrassed, I hope she quit or gave him a big piece of mind. I find owners who do this in public insufferable and I will never be back. There are other places to get beverages.

This is my favorite coffee shop here ! The owner is always jolly and service is great ! The ambience of sitting in an old pub/cabin. It’s just perfect for this town with wood shake roofs and Stone walkways !

While the décor is adorable and the atmosphere as kitschy as you could hope for in rustic Brown County, it’s pretty clear they prepare their coffee and food with the understanding that the person eating has already paid and will soon be leaving town. The wall of coffee beans is impressive but it’s obvious the coffee served has been setting in those bins for quite some time. Not fresh, not well prepared.

EXCELLENT! We were looking online for a place for coffee and this came up so we gave it a try So worth it. The owner was there answering all of our questions, telling us to take our time deciding, and made sure to let us know EVERYTHING is good there. :) Great sense of humor. I had the ham, egg and cheese croissant… DELICIOUS. My kids both had the biscuits and gravy… new record set for fastest consumption. My husband had a bagel sandwich… great. And my mom had a waffle and bacon. The food was all great. He came by the table to check on us, and explained how the coffee refill system worked. We also bought coffee beans to take home to brew. Large selection to choose from, and a small selection of loose teas. There is also a card he gives you so every time you get a pound or ½ pound bag you can get a signature to get a free one. No expiration date. He also told us how we can order online if we absolutely love the coffee flavor and don’t want to wait until our next visit. Great food, great coffee, great service! We look forward to our next trip to southern Indiana.

Took me some time to find this place but easily the best coffee to be had in Nashville. Espresso is fine too.

Cute place, I had the Oregon chai which was nice. Most people seemed to fixate on the hot chocolate which I hope to try in the future. They’re super generous with the whipped cream if you get it! There is such charm to the place, nice people and good service. I love places like this.

We were at brown county state park for a wedding/camping adventure, and needed to travel into town for some coffee. Great coffee. I had a triple salted caramel latte, and the hubs had an iced amaretto coffee, and it was worth the trip into town for us. I’m just bummed that I wasn’t able to make it there more than once while we were down south.

My family and I happened to be spending the weekend in Nashville and we stopped here today for lunch. At first, it felt as if the staff was a little overwhelmed by our order(seven people ordering drinks and food) but they actually were able to get it to us very quickly and everything was delicious. The only reason I gave the Daily Grind four out of five stars is because I felt that it wasn’t spacious enough to accommodate more than 15 people while there were about 30 people there at the time we went. I would definitely recommend this place to people visiting Nashville!

A cute little town like Nashville needs a great little coffee shop. This isn’t it. Nice location, decent décor … but bland coffee which only comes with fake cream. Yech! :-(

Quaint place tucked in amongst the shops of Nashville. Cant go wrong with 2 free refills on the coffee. My husband and I had the ham, cheese, and egg croissant… it was a good way to start the day.

Daily Grind is a cute little coffee shop in Nashville that also sells whole beans, breakfast items, and baked goods. Recommend if you are wanting a cup of coffee in a cozy, warm setting. Prices are reasonable, too.

My best friend and I went early on a Tuesday morning and there were quite a few people in there already drinking their coffees and eating various breakfast foods. I would suggest stopping here for a quick breakfast(or even a not quick breakfast). You order at the counter and then the staff will bring out the food whenever it is ready, which, in my case, was very fast! If you order coffee, you get 2 free refills if you are dining in. Any other drinks like a cappuccino or café au lait, you get 2 free refills of regular coffee once you are finished with your original drink, which I thought was great! The owner was there, I believe. Very friendly guy and obviously a Packer fan.(you will notice this right away once you enter). Over all a great experience and a wonderful little coffee shop.

Be sure to stop at the Daily Grind when you are in Nashville(Indiana). Great coffee, great service, nice people. If you are not familiar with Nashville, the off street parking is free and plentiful but you might have some walking to do.

My dad implored me to give this little place a try, which I did. A couple snags before I get to the good stuff. The website doesn’t have hours or an address, so make sure you call. My GPS was über-wrong about the location. And it’s hidden — like everything in downtown Nashville — in a little shopping area. Prepare to wander. Just prepare. Once you get in, though, it’s a cute establishment. They have a small but tasty breakfast selection. And their Americano(double, man style) was excellent. You wouldn’t believe how many terrible Americanos I’ve had.(Starbucks the other day gave me coffee — COFFEE — and cold water. I wish I was lying.) I’ve read lots of shitty reviews about this place. I must have caught them on a bad day because everyone was pleasant to me and the food was good. Apparently they messed up being jerks. Jerks. Next time I’m in town, I’ll starting my weekend here. For sure.
