Artichoke pizza. I’ve been to the brew house for beer school and enjoyed quaf on for a while in the Bloomington area. This was a wonderful change of pace and excellent flavor profile for a pizza. Cheers.

It’s okay. Not very accommodating to dietary restrictions(don’t go here if you’re vegan and want a decent selection). It has a gluten free crust that was alright. Not bad, not good. We were promptly seated which was awesome. Our server was not very attentive but she did alright. Their in house beer is mediocre but their bourbon selection is pretty good(23 different bourbons!) Pizza came out fast. Ordered it with basil and there was almost no basil on it which was disappointing. I’m sure this is a great restaurant for family’s in the area but out of town-ers might not be as enthused.

This place has the best pizza and beer in Nashville, maybe even Southern Indiana. Always eat here when in the area. Pulled pork nachos are delicious, but order with extra sauce and cheese. One of few places that give more pulled pork than other toppings.

I’ve been coming to Big Woods for years. Nestled in the heart of downtown Nashville, Indiana, this restaurant/brewery continues the warm small town atmosphere. It’s the perfect place for date night, family dinner, or a post-hike refuel. Tonight, I had the margarita pizza with added chicken. It was delicious. The olive oil drizzled on top dressed up this simple dish and the breadstick like crust is killer. I’ll definitely be returning to Big Woods in the future.

(A precaution to my review: I was partially feeling not sleeping much last night, I hadn’t had lunch, and I had just hiked an insane amount at Brown County.) Quite possibly some of the best pizza I’ve ever had? Yes. I think the wait time for the pizza was about 5 — 7 minutes or so — completely doable. Once our pizzas came out and we took our pics and vids for Unilocal,I believe our entire conversation went«this is so good.» «SO good.» «I can’t believe how good this is.» «This crust is SO good.» «So so good.» I got Emily’s Garden and my friend got the Margherita with chicken. Again, the crust of the pizza was Devine. It was like breadsticks but even better. We were planning to get ice cream after so we wanted to save room so we didn’t get anything else aside from the pizza. Like I said, it was some of the best pizza I have had and who wouldn’t love to sit outside in 60-degree weather by the Christmas tree in December?!

We had the spinach artichoke pizza and all I can say is we live 2 hours from this place and I would make the drive there just to eat their pizza! Yes it is worth it! Their root beer is awesome. Probably a good thing we don’t live close by.

Guys… Guys. This pizza place blew my expectations out of the water. It was so good! If it was just a little warmer, the outside seating would have been fantastic on a calm night, but we sat inside. There was live music that was really good and not so loud that it was the only thing you could hear. We were seated and our waitress got our drinks right away. They had some great choices of pizzas. We started with the cheese bread which was gooey and fantastic. A friend and I shared the Big Wood(I think that is what it was called). Cheese, ground sausage, and a lot of garlic. Pretty much don’t eat this if you plan on kissing anybody after. But don’t worry; you will be happy with your decision because it the pizza will be fantastic.

Holy crap is it loud inside. Food was good though. Just impossible to hold a conversation with someone across the table from you.

Last week, a group of 3, including myself, stopped into Big Woods Pizza after checking out their Unilocal reviews. We stopped in around dinner time and they were moderately busy. A surprising number of people were seated outside at tables with wonderful outdoor heaters, but we chose to dine inside. We started by asking for some beer samples. We asked for a couple of samples of their apple beer, but our very enthusiastic server opted to bring us 6 different samples instead. I don’t remember their actual names, but they were apple, hazelnut, pumpkin, coffee, a stout, and a blonde. Each one was delicious! I only gave 4 stars because at the bottom of the glass the stout was in, we found the remains of a tea light. Apparently the shot glass the samples were served in had been used as a candle holder and accidentally used to serve us. Our server was very apologetic. Beer still tasted great though! On to dinner… Because of suggestions on Unilocal,we ordered the pulled pork bbq nachos for an appetizer. We got a full order and found that it was completely unnecessary. So much food! We also ordered a 16″ Big Woods pizza. Once again, SOMUCHFOOD! The pizza was garlic-y, so if you’re not a garlic fan, I would suggest another pizza, but we thought it was delicious! We didn’t even eat half of our pizza and ended up having plenty of leftovers. The pizza is nowhere near as good later as it is fresh, but boy, was it satisfying! We plan on making many more trips to Big Woods in the future!

This place is no doubt the best place to eat in Nashville. First the beer, the bartenders upstairs were so friendly. They were happy to let me try any of the beers. I ordered two(the pumpkin and the IPA). Every beer I tried was delicious. Top notch. Also while we were waiting for our table we tried the breadsticks appetizer. They were fabulous! So tender and delicious. We got our table and split a pizza. We got the Reuben on half and the artichoke with Alfredo sauce on the other side. Wow it was spectacular. Seriously, this is some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. I would recommend getting on the wait list early. It’s a busy place.

Great beer and great pizza! Came in last night after going to the IU game. Went to the tasting room while we waited for our table. Great opportunity to try some brews and know ahead of time what beer you want with your pizza. Busted Knuckle has always been a favorite of mine and they mixed that with their pumpkin ale(Put a Fork in It) and they call it the Busted Pumpkin. It was really awesome. I wish there was a middle size option for pizza. You can either get a 10 inch or 16 inch pizza, but it was so good I am grateful for a box full of leftovers. We had the Primal pizza and it was full of pepperoni, ham, bacon, and sausage. The best part of the pizza is the crust that has a great garlic flavor. It’s a cozy restaurant and a perfect place to warm up after a chilly fall day. Highly recommend next time you are in Nashville.

Pizza is pizza, right? WRONG! Everyone can do pizza but few places actually take it a step further to stand out from the general masses. One day while visiting the quant shops of Nashville before heading back to Indy I was checking out reviews on Unilocal to find a good place to eat. What’s fun is I typically only read the negative reviews when a place is rated 4 stars or better just to get a full idea. Well I wasn’t convinced this was the place to eat, BUT the reviews seemed good and I can always go for pizza. When we arrived we were seated quickly and due to the humidity we asked to sit inside. Its a very rustic feel in there with tables and chairs that appear to have been carved out back from a tree. Its neat… and different so though it isn’t my style I liked it. THEN the only complaint that I have is how long we waited for someone to come to our table. They were not busy, a total of maybe 4 tables were being used and I saw more than enough staff walking around. But they all ignored us. Just as I was about to say lets go somewhere else someone finally came by and asked if we had been helped. When we responded with a huge no she left and got someone to take care of us. By this point we pretty much knew what we wanted to eat as we had so much time to look over the menu. I went with the BBQ pizza and I am pretty sure my other half had some loaded meat pizza of some sort. Anyway, after we ordered that I then wanted to add the cheese bread appetizer to the mix. I flagged down our server and asked if I could add that. She said yes, but that it would probably end up coming out all at once. I said that was fine. A short while later our food arrived. The cheese bread was to die for. It was just loaded with 5 different types of cheeses. I could totally eat a whole one all by myself if someone would let me. As for my BBQ pizza, that too was to die for. It was so full of flavor I was very surprised. These people understood what it took to make an excellent pizza. I was so happy that I wanted to cry when I was so full but didn’t want to stop eating. All of the toppings worked with each other to create an orgy of flavor in my mouth. It was for sure pizza heaven. Once we had a server she did a great job, apologized for the longer than usual wait and really took care of us. She was upbeat and had a personality which was nice. She made up for the long wait we had at the very beginning. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone visiting Nashville, IN. The service is a little shaky but the food is worth it.

Took the family to Brown County for a getaway weekend. We decided to eat in and get carryout pizza from Big Woods. Wow did we make a good choice! The pizza had a great, slightly chewy crust with plenty of cheese, although I felt they were a little light on the topping for a pepperoni-only pizza. Taste wise it can’t be beat. One issue with carry-out — and this is a reflection on Nashville, not the store, is that there is no place to park and run in to get your carryout. I noticed that there is a side door in the alley that some people were pulling into and parking while they picked up their pizza. In my case, I made my daughter drive around the block until I got the pizza and jumped into the car. If you want a really good pizza in Little Nashville, this is the place.

Very excellent pizzas, premium toppings, 5 sauces, this place is it. Oh yeah and they have great beer brewed on premises. They smoke their chicken wings and pork for pulled pork nachos. Top notch eats, great spacious facility, good location, amazingly friendly service. They also have giant jenga. We tried the chef’s summer special pizza: it was topped with fresh seasonal ingredients: zucchini, corn, jalepeno, tomato and more! We also tried their pizza with garlic oil sauce — a win in our book!

The beer here is just ok. It is local, based on the brief explaination by the hostess when we asked. We like checking out small brew pubs and just came from many in Michigan. Of our four week tour of the midwest this was by far the biggest disappointment. I can not review the quality of the food since we got up and left due to poor service. My husband needed to use the restroom but told me which beer he wanted to order once the hostess sat us outside. While he was gone only one server came to the outdoor tables but she did not assist me while I waited. My husband came back after a few minutes and I went to the restroom to change our baby’s diaper since we were still waiting to be noticed. The did have a baby changing station in the unisex bathroom so I added one star to the review. When I came back to the table my husband had his beer and stated he also orded waters but they had not arrived yet. We waited another few minutes for the water and discussing what to get on our pizza. The server came out for another table that was sat after us but he did not approach us. He came back a few minutes later with two waters and asked to take our order. No suggestions, no apology. We asked for the bill and left. This was around 1:30pm on a Wed afternoon. Two servers were working the outside tables, one male and one female. Only four tables had guests during the 15 munutes we were there. Shocking.

After stopping by for lunch here on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, I was relieved that our wait was only a half hour. Due to the amount of people waiting outside in the sun for a table, it looked worse. I quickly found out why everyone was willing to wait. We started off with the cheesy bread as an appetizer. It was basically a small pizza, topped with plenty of gooey, melted cheeses and it was delicious. The two of us shared a 10 inch Big Woods Pulled Pork pizza and… oh.my.gosh.it was one of the best pizzas I have ever had. It was topped with plenty of cheese and was full of pulled pork, bbq sauce, and, pineapple. There were two sizes available but the 10 inch was plenty for us, along with the appetizer and beer. And the beer. I had the Busted Knuckle(sooo good) and my other half had a four beer flight. The actual Big Woods Brewery is around the corner. Hostesses were super friendly. Our server was a little gruff at first, probably due to being so busy but she became more friendly as time passed. Service was spot on with no issues. Oh, how I love the little town of Nashville. I could’ve stayed there all day.

Stopped in over the weekend while on a visit to Nashville. We ordered a meat pizza and a flight of beer(well, I ordered a diet) I can’t speak for the beer because I’m not a fan. The pizza was okay. It was hot. The cheese doesn’t taste like real mozzarella. I could be wrong… but it has an artificial taste to it. The pizza isn’t bad though. The staff are super friendly and prompt. This is one of the better restaurants in Nashville IMO. We would go back.

Our party of four went in on a Saturday evening and were seated immediately. Larger groups had to wait about an hour. The kids that were at tables and waiting for their pizza were given a pizza dough ball to play with/eat. I thought that was creative and fun! The pizza was good here, but let’s be honest, the beer is the main event. The beer flights are affordable(I think it was $ 5.50 for 4, 5 oz pours). You are able to get as many samples as you want. We all tried a variety of beers and liked every single one. Our favorites were the Hoosier Red, Java Mocha Stout, and something with Yellow in the name. Along the liquor lines, they have an impressive bourbon selection and my friend said his Old Fashion was excellent.

I’m a die-hard fan of Big Woods Brewing Company and Quaff-ON! so this review is a no-brainer. I love everything about the people that run this place because they’re so relaxed, yet so passionate about what they do. Nashville in itself is a step away from the hustle and bustle of Indy but when you go into Big Woods Pizza its even better. I love the food, the atmosphere and the staff. They let you sample beers before purchasing and explain to you the differences between the beers… they also are able to provide suggestions to the newbies who are a little beer-shy. It can get packed and loud in there — but even with all of that, it doesn’t really bother me. There is enough room(just barely enough) that people aren’t kicking your chairs/bumping you as they walk by)
