My whole family love their food. Cost wise its very reasonable and we get a lot for our price. This is closest to what we get from home. The Basmati rice kernel is the biggest ever. Dessert actually surpassed the taste from back home. Yummm! RUSMALAI. We recommend it anytime.

I come here all the time and I’ve eaten tons of Indian food, let me just say, this place is incredible. It is far better than the rating it’s getting on Unilocal. To me it’s better than Taj, my former favorite. Yes I have had the food come slow but hey it’s Nashville… chill the F out. If you’re in a hurry there is a McDonalds just the other side of the highway. Good things come to those who wait.

Came here for lunch with co-workers. We got lucky and had street parking right in front(don’t forget your coins). We got there about 11:15, the place is small so very limited seating. Ordered the special for the day — chicken biryani and a side of naan. Food took quite awhile to get, but luckily we ordered a very spice chicken dish for an appetizer, I forget the name, but it was good. The chicken biriyani, was flavorful, but a bit dry, and it was sitting on top of a huge mound of rice. I’d definitely want to give this place a second try because I really did enjoy that spicy appetizer dish.

flavor is great. just ordered in postmates for me and a friend. the vegetable fried rice is perfect indochinese flavor and the gobI manchurian was a bit soggy but flavor was on point. I ordered in spicy heat level; they delivered. my friend ordered goat biryani and found it to be very tasty he got medium spice and didn’t think it was overwhelming at all. the goat was also apparently quite tender. also, we would order again.

The tastes and flavors are delicious. But twice now, the quality of the chicken has been questionable :/guess i’ll be ordering vegetarian next time.

This place serves Indian food, please have a snack before you head there or swing by a fast food place on the way. They take forever to serve Indian food and in the table order they prefer. Actually it’s not a bad idea to order food and go to a movie, by the time you come back, if you are lucky enough, you will have it ready.

One visit and two dishes(so not an authoritative review) but I can report: 1) the food we had was well seasoned, the meat(lamb) super tender and the naan was fluffy and fresh 2) our order took a looooog time to arrive(40 minutes!!) even though we arrived very early for lunch. 3) the portions are generous – I’m a big guy and I ended up taking some of the«small» biryani home 4) biryani is not really like any biryani I’ve had or made at home – it’s basically some(delicious) rice with a meat/sauce. there are no nuts, little/no caramelized onions, and most of the seasoning comes form the gravy… it was super tasty but NOT a biryani I will be back but I will also order ahead as the wait really was too much. Oh, and parking sucks – bring quarters for the meters and be prepared to walk a ways

A jewel of a find in Nashville! This tiny Indian restaurant was a pleasant respite after traveling all day. I ordered the Monday special, the chicken biryani and was not disappointed. I could only eat half of the generous portion yet could not take it with me since I was leaving the next day. It’s a family run operation and the authentic food will not disappoint.

Generally food here is good on weekends. This time we went there on a Wednesday afternoon… I must say I was disappointed. The peanut chutney was old and stale, they served water in glasses smelling of and bubbling with soap. After hearing Oh sorry about this from the staff… The worst part was I came home and opened the to go order of paneer biryani… I just found paneer gravy over plain rice and the side was stale !!! I am disappointed.

Ordered from here via Grub Hub. I had a feeling it would be good just by looking at the menu options. It wasn’t the generic same curry selections that you find at most places(butter chicken, vindaloo, chicken kadai etc). This place had an expansive menu of things that really seemed worth trying, including some Indian style Chinese options. In my experience Indian places that also offer their version of Chinese fare always turn out great, dont know why! Welll long story short i ordered the Samosa Chaat, Red Sorrel curry with chicken, egg dosa and Chicken 65. It took the delivery guy 2 hours to get to me, apparently on bike, so the food was disappointingly cold when i got it. I figured i was in for a brutal dinner but even though it was cold the flavours were undeniably delicious. I especially loved the Samosa Chaat(Think Indian nachos). They were banging and had a nice level of spice. My other favourite was the Chicken 65. Unbreaded fried chicken marinated in chillis. Quite spicy and reaaallly tasty, definitely my favourite. The red sorrel curry was a bit heavy on the ghee, which floated on top but after a few dabs of a tissue it was sorted. Flavour was pretty good here as well. Remember I ate this all slightly below room temperature. I can only imagine how this would have been if Lance Armstrong had actually gotten this out to me within a reasonable time. Defo check it out if you want something beyond the same boring, canned curries.

We took a break here while driving to Atlanta and we really made a good decision in doing so. I have been to multiple other Bawarchi locations in US so I have a chance to compare one Bawarchi with the other. If you are looking for a tasty food this place is for you. Instead if you are looking for a well maintained ambience then I may not recommend you this place. It is hard to find an authentic restaurant for south indian food so for me taste is important. That is why I gave 5 star.

Worse than the Franklin branch. Ordered egg biryani to go and while I was ending it, the lower layer of rice was swimming in oil. Never going here.

Placed an order for delivery, got a call they would deliver in an hour and a half as the staff was on break… THREEHOURS later, they said my food was ready but they didn’t have a driver. The only thing they said during this time was«I’m sorry» and«Will be there soon»…After FOURHOURS my order was cancelled. NEVERAGAIN!!!

Food is good and consistent. Expect to wait a bit after ordering. Parking is difficult in this area of town. Try the gobi manchurian and the dosa! Some of the best Indian food in town in a casual atmosphere.

The food was horrible. I ordered butter chicken and I have had it numerous times in different restaurants and at my Desi friends homes. The chicken was burnt… not slightly, but completely charcoal black burnt. I tried it, but it was inedible. It tasted like licking a grill. When I politely brought the chicken to the staffs attention, I was told that that is how butter chicken is made. «we burn our chicken and then cook it» I was shocked at the b.s. response because I know it is absolute nonsense. Indian food is not burnt. I paid 10.99 for inedible food that went straight in the trash: no refund, no apology, just a lie(for what reason I will never know). *They are also VERY, VERY slow. While we were in there they messed up 4 of 5 orders.

This place is pretty good… The Three star revolves around the fact that it’s a bit difficult to order in. Not being Indian and not understanding the food names– it was difficult to decipher the menu. Additionally– the young lady helping us did not speak the best English– so it was a bit of a challenge. English descriptions, or pictures would DEFINATELY help. All of that said– she pointed us in the direction of some REALLY great food and the meal was quite enjoyable. The décor of the place leaves a bit to be desired… so I would not really classify this place as «nice» or anything like it… it however is a nice close place to grab some Tasty food during the work-week.

I really wanted to like this place. However, with their appalling service, I cannot be more dissatisfied. We waited 40 minutes to get our order only for them to serve my friends order and not what I ordered. She was done with her lunch and still there was no sight of my food. If you cannot serve two people at the same time, you shouldn’t be having a restaurant. The worser part is seeing people who came after you get served.

Really tasty food. I generally eat pescatarian, but make exceptions once in a while for something like this. The goat has been great. Flavorful, mildly/moderately spicy once and fiery another time, when I asked for extra spicy.(I lived in Thailand for a year, and I eat very spicy food regularly.) The garlic naan and other breads have been toasty and steamy and great. The place is usually filled with almost entirely Southeast Asian/Indian customers speaking their native languages. I take that as a good sign in a neighborhood with growing but still modest levels of ethnicity. I have a condo right next door. Always had to warn friends and family against eating at the old Indian place that was there. Now, very pleased to have a nice place to eat something very good. Yes, the décor is spartan. I always sit outside and watch the people going by. The manager is very pleasant and accommodating. The wait is almost always long, and that should be taken into account when going. Often quite busy, at least when I have gone, which may explain some of that. I know this, and it doesn’t bother me because I only go when I have time to sit and have a beer and chat with whoever I brought with me.

If you are a Desi(Indian, Pakistani, Bengali) please move one and go to the other great buffets around town. I was excited to see them open up in downtown after having tasted them in other parts of the country. Walked in great customer service and began to see what biryanis they had. Seeing all of them I wanted them all but seeing the price 10.99 per plate I was shocked. Went ahead and ordered it to go, came home opened it up and I was given colored rice in a bowl with 2 pieces of chicken some gravy and raita on the side. So dip the spoon in the rice n taste it, this was the most bland biryani I had ever tasted. The meat was evev worse and blander. Please refrain from going there. So who should eat there? No one, the most untasteful food I have ever tried. Might be amazing for folks who r trying Indian food for the first time but someone who eats a lot of this will never return. Customer service 5stars food 0

Flavorful Food, Décor Needs TLC We arrived at 7 pm on a frozen Thursday night. We were the only diners when we arrived, and had the place all to ourselves for the duration of our dinner. Given the frigid conditions, we were happy to find the place open — many other restaurants were closed due to the ice. I had the boneless chicken biryani and it was GREAT — very flavorful rice, chicken was tender and full of spicy heat. The portion was huge — I was starving and I couldn’t finish it. The garlic nan was fine, standard fare. The food here was excellent, but the décor was spartan. These two factors combined make this an excellent choice for take out. Add a few plants, pictures on the wall, upgrade the tables and chairs, and we’ll be back for another sit down dinner. Oh, the manager(who took care of us) was friendly and gave us good suggestions. Prices were fair.

A solid fast food style Indian restaurant in Nashville. I ordered the goat biryani, chicken tikka, and tandoori chicken. The goat biryani portions were huge. The rice had a surprisingly authentic Hyderabadi taste — each bite was overwhelmingly flavorful, exactly what you would expect from a proper biryani. The chicken tikka masala was a pinch sweeter than spicy but still fingerlicking good. The tandoori chicken came with two chicken quarters and was enough to feed at least two people. Very flavorful, but not as strongly marinated as I would have liked. The server was very welcoming and polite. Parking here sucks but exactly what you would expect on Demonbreun. The spicyness level was also very mild — perfect if you can’t stand gulping water down after every bite, but I’d strongly recommend asking to make each dish a bit more spicy. The extra kick would really have upped the taste. This is as close to an authentic Hyderabadi biryani place I will probably find in the south. I will definitely be back.
