Horrible bedside manor. Very pompous and arrogant. Gives off a high and mighty attitude. If you are looking for a doctor to sympathize with you and show compassion for you, and actually appear as though they care about you and your disorder, GOSOMEWHEREELSE! Doesn’t care about you or your situation. His arrogant demeanor and pompous attitude do nothing, but leave you feeling humiliated and embarrassed after speaking with him. At a very crucial time in my life, I was referred to Dr. Ellen for treatment. I over looked Dr. Ellen’s arrogance due to recognizing that I needed help fast. After a year or so, I noticed that the pompous attitude was not dissipating and every time I left his office I felt like an asshole for having an illness. Not too long after that, I had my wife call for an emergency script, due to being out of state. Dr. Ellen proceeded to talk to her like a child and scolded her for my mistake. Dr. Ellen has done nothing since this incident to correct his wrong doing and has since cancelled my refill on psychiatric medication. Dr. Ellen claims that I have missed a scheduled appointment and he will no longer be able to fulfill his obligation as my Dr. So I guess abruptly pulling me off my medication that he stressed the importance of consistency in the beginning is ok.(You’re the Dr.). Dr. Stephen Ellen, is a very highly decorated individual in his field, but his Dr. to patient respect level is awful. It will be interesting to see what happens(side effect wise) in the next week or so. There was no where near enough time to find another Dr. to allow for prescription overlaps. I hope this was helpful to anyone who had a psychiatric disorder and still wants to feel like a human too.
