Showed up for an early lunch off season. Was immediately told that my car would be towed if I left it in their lot. There were only 3 «guests» parked there. Not exactly a welcoming atmosphere. Some places just don’t want to be bothered with serving people. This is one of them I moved my car to along the seawall then came back to eat. The server was okay. I ordered a pesto and portabello pizza It was good size. Unfortunately it tasted off sort of musty and off. I only had two slices of the six The location and view were excellent too bad the service and food were way off. Overall below average. Might be nice to order a glass of wine or beer and enjoy the view but based on my experience I’d stay away from the food

This place is a hidden gem. Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. Ocean views with affordable prices. We will be back.

This restaurant came highly recommended. We were greeted by a very rude young lady that continued to be routed through the entire process fortunately we moved to the bar and had a great bartender. We moved to the dining area and had a young waiter named Brian which was a six day on the job do a fantastic job. We had the scallops that were good and it’s chicken picatta that was average. The prices were reasonable service was good besides the hostess. If you are looking for a reasonably priced dinner I would recommend

***!!!*********DONOTEATHERE! Horrific! $ 11 for one single«pistachio crusted» crab cake that had hardly any pistachios on top of rotten lettuce pieces. Also, the salad we ordered had hardly any greens or character. The onions were left in large unappetizing chunks. The view at the bar included looking at the wall because the beautiful view was at our backs. Pretty much a rip off. $ 50 and a crappy lunch later we will not return. !!! But, in spite of all that 6 points goes to the bartender who is pretty cute… if you’re into The Bachelor

The food was good, but the view was great! During the summer this place gets really busy and you may need to wait for quite a while to be seated. I had lunch here on my visit and I enjoyed the clam chowder and beet salad. Service was very friendly and I think our toddler make a lasting impression on them. Overall, it’s a nice place to visit but be wary of the summer crowds.

Went on Saturday night, about 8pm. No wait for seating, maybe 2 or 3 other tables occupied. Got a nice corner table. Food was very good, but our waitress ruined the experience for us… she was absolutely miserable and made it very uncomfortable.

We had a gift card here so finally took the drive down today for lunch. I was excited about a good meal because everything on the menu looked great. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the water and we sat right by the window. Our server was nice and attentive. We started with sharing a bowl of clam chowder, which was really delicious. For a meal we shared the smoked mozzarella and salmon ravioli, and two appetizers: calamari and the mushroom and steak bruschetta. The ravioli dish was pretty tasty. The calamari was absolutely terrible. It was cold, flavorless, and rubbery. It tasted like if you had leftover calamari and tried to microwave it the next day. Not good. The waiter was nice enough to take it off the bill. The steak bruschetta was also a huge disappointment. First, I requested medium rare steak and most of the steak on the plate was really rare. And the toasted bread it came on was mostly burnt and inedible. My husband ate some of it and I tried a piece and thought the sauce was gross and I was turned off by the undercooked steak. Despite the yummy chowder and ravioli, I’m pretty disappointed and probably would not go back.

OK food, great view. The prices are decent. I don’t like that you aren’t allowed to park in the parking lot though. That seems kind of silly. We just had some appetizers. Nothing was out of this world, but nothing was bad. The servers were friendly, but it was pretty slow for not a lot of people being there. The oil and vinegar bottles clearly needed to be wiped down. It wasn’t fantastic, but the view was nice.

We were regulars here a few years back. We like to try new places and we travel so we try lots of restaurants. During the summers they would offer the local regulars a «call ahead courtesy» because the tourists literally take over the local restaurant scene. Somehow, mysteriously, and without explanation, we were taken off that list a few summers ago. Stunned and confused, we took our business elsewhere. Hubby does not wait for tables, and with no reservations taken here, we were on to the next one. We like to walk the seawall during the summer and the appeal of the outside bar, water view and Adirondack chairs at Turtle Soup was too much to resist, not to mention bartender Jared Haibon, of Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise fame. Having not been in a very long time we were excited to go back for another try. The whole experience was absolutely sub par. The drinks, the service and especially the food were extremely disappointing. We ordered the shrimp nachos and they were HORRIBLE– canned baby shrimp, partially drained were dumped on nacho chips which made the chips soggy and fishy smelling! They were topped with globs of jarred duck sauce. They were absolutely gross! The waitress disappeared for blocks of 15 minutes at a time– too long to wait to order another drink, or to wait for ketchup or silverware. It’s not cheap either. Complete waste of money. I will not be back anytime soon. There are too many local places, namely Trio, that offer good food and service, and that also appreciate my patronage. I recommend anywhere in Narragansett other than Turtle soup. They need to pull it together.

We went back to Turtle Soup because our meal there three years ago was excellent. I ordered the Ahi for a main course. Bit was a good portion with garlic smashed potatoes. The ahi was just seared, and cooked the way I always order it. I found my piece to be stringy, but tasty. That will be the last time I ever order Ahi as I was sick all night. The Salmon was a hit as was the atmosphere and the service. Beware of raw fish !!!

I am alway weary of places with a good view. I want the food to be good but it rarely is. We tried Turtle Soup and it only affirmed my «good view» rule. We dined on a Saturday night around 8 pm. We were given the option to wait for a table of sit at the Adirondack chair section that offers a full menu. The chairs had a great view so we chose the Adirondacks. As soon as we sat we could tell we were in trouble. Ten minutes in and we didn’t see one wait staff in the whole section. Twenty minutes go by and I got up and hunted one down. The guy was nice enough. We asked him if there were any off the menu specials and he said I’ll check. Upon return he announced that the kitchen was out of the specials. I ordered the marinated beets and goat cheese salad w/chicken(they couldn’t screw up a salad?). My gf had a cod entrée off the menu. The salad was ok with canned beets. The cod was over cooked and incredibly over spiced. It was exactly what we’ve come to expect from restaurants with a good view. Very poor food and very poor service. They got us, we fell for it. I recommend finding a better place to eat and just go here for a drink. The one star is for the view only. Btw, on our way out we overheard another waiter reading off what sounded like a nice list of specials. I guess the specials found their way back into the kitchen. No joke.

I love the ambiance and view from the front lawn, which provides big tables and giant chairs from which to look at the ocean and enjoy a drink. I’ve gotten a couple menu items and they have all been great: very good burgers and excellent clam chowder. Now the negative: I work nearby and we bring both the restaurant and hotel a lot of business. I’ve arrived close to the kitchen’s closing time twice now, and been met with resistance even though we asked what time the kitchen was open until. Both times the waitstaff was generally polite(except for one surly bartender), but mentioned that the chef was going to be angry. I don’t particularly enjoy calling ahead, making sure the kitchen is open, getting there, and being told that the chef is going to be mad that I ordered food close to closing time. Sorry for bringing you business! This guy clearly intimidates his poor waitstaff.

I absolutely love the ambiance here. Be prepared to wait for a table, especially in the warm summer months. Everything is «good» but nothing fabulous. I would say it’s better for apps and drinks!

The location and outdoor seating here really is great, I’m a fan of the outdoor bar and adirondack chairs on the grass! However, service was a little off. It seemed like everything took forever, and we were seated at an outdoor table, which we waited for, with a delightful view of the parking lot and dining room. The wait was long because they were busy, which I normally wouldn’t mind, but this is one of those places that will take reservations for outdoor seating and let tables sit empty for hours on end, versus just seating first-come, first-served. I had the white clam pizza, which was a little too salty and overcooked. The person I was with ordered a different pizza, which looked and tasted much better. Overall, 3 stars for the outdoor area, but everything else was very«meh.» I’ll go back for drinks on the grass, but probably move on to somewhere else for dinner.

This place was a very big surprise. We’ve been in Narragansett many times and haven’t ever really seen the sign! What a shame, my wife and I loved it. We sat out in the patio with the ocean a stone throw away. The food was excellent, by far the best these last five day’s. I had an herb encrusted prime rib cooked mid rare with a mushroom gravy sauce. It was cooked to perfection. The flavor was amazing. I have never had a prime rib like this before. I wish I could get this in Albany, NY. My wife had a half roasted duck that was slightly over cooked. But not to the point of sending it back. It had a raspberry, orange glaze that just popped with flavor. Along with garlic mashed and broccoli and carrots that she loved. We would highly recommend THE Turtle Soup restaurant to anyone. They have a wide variety of food. A pizza and burger menu and a main dinner menu. Everyone around us had a lot of delicious looking pasta dishes. None of which went back with food!!!

Ate here recently and wanted to leave a review since the last one posted was from over a year ago. I like this place, it’s right on Ocean Road in Narragansett and if you go on a nice afternoon or evening, it’s an awesome place to grab a drink and some food. If you go, go when it’s nice out because it just adds to the whole experience. They have awesome outside seating, but you’re right on the water so it gets breezy, just something to consider. I love their Adirondack chairs in the lawn out front. Go on a sunny day, order a drink and just chill in the chairs outside with some friends. They have some unique specials from time to time and they had updated their menu since I had last visited so I saw some new dishes that looked really good. Overall, it’s a chill place and great place to stop by if you’re in Narragansett and it’s a nice day. Wouldn’t be my first choice on a rainy day, but perfect for the summer.

I’m a little disappointed Turtle Soup(3.5 stars), all these years I’ve been coming to «Gansett» and I thought this was a real treat of a meal, it was good but fell short in a few areas. So we ditched the munchkin to have dinner with just the two of us over looking the bay and had to sit inside to avoid a 45 minutes wait. No problem as we had a nice big bay window to look out which was even better given it was a little chilly out. However there were flies are over the windows and tables, I bet the outdoor tables don’t have this issue but it was like all the bugs were glued to window, what’s up with that? Unfortunately our appetizers fell short as we had Mozzarella and Tomatoes which were bland and I went with steamed Pot Stickers which were random but descent. For entrees my wife had a Tenderloin Steak($ 27?) while I had the Salmon and Fusilli($ 17?) which had more chunks fish than I would have expected. Entrees were the best part of the meal as well as service. Our waiter was a nice good and always checking in on us. We’ll check in again next summer Turtle Soup.

The view is absolutely breathtaking and a perfect spot to sit outside and relax! We didn’t have such a great dining experience unfortunately… we walked in and were seated outside. Just as were about to get settled the hostess came back and said someone had been waiting for our table and sat us inside(which was fine) in the middle of the restaurant — a far less desirable table! Our food took significantly longer than any of the tables around us and people who arrived after us left far before is. When out food did arrive my salad with chicken was mediocre at best and my other halfs duck breast was okay and a very small portion. The wait or was very kind but also messed up the bill and fixed it but still then charged us incorrectly — adding to our lengthy visit at Turtle Soup. All that aside, the view is beautiful!
