Best Italian I’ve Hardin a long time. Very reasonable prices, great wine list. Deserts to die for. Excellent service. Try the veal chop and fettuccine. Highly recommend

Service is terrible, food over priced and small portions. Owner claims to be Italian but he is from Masadonia a cook’s are from Mexico. Think again before you go.

Having grown up in the Italian restaurant business in New York, I believe PaneVino is the finest Italian restaurant in Naples. The food is second to none, The freshness is second to none and the service and hospitality are second to none. Sal is the consummate professional and his meticulous commitment to perfection is obvious from the second he greets you at the door to explaining the specials and finally to the presentation and taste of the food. My favorite dish is the veal chop stuffed with asparagus and cheese. It is fabulous and the portion is ridiculously HUGE. It literally hangs over the plate. The lobster raviolis are fresh and always a great compliment to the veal chop. My siblings love to visit me in Naples and when they arrive, I think they are more excited about seeing Sal and eating at PaneVino than they are about seeing me. As I mentioned earlier, I know Italian restaurants because my dad owned and ran great Italian restaurants in NY. PaneVino is as good as they come.

It’s our go to place for Italian food. Homemade pasta a must to try. Food always fresh, but I was a bit surprised on this visit that the potions were on the small side. Homemade cannoli a good bet for desert washed down with a cup of cappuccino.

My friend, Di and I went to Panevino two times in one week and had a nice evening. Yes, it was packed but we lucked out and were able to get a table quite quickly. Yes, it did feel rushed, and our server did look off into space but neither of us took it personally. He may do this to remember specifically what the specials are, he may do this because he has a hard time looking people in the eye(unusual for someone who is in the restaurant business) or whatever the reasons is. We had a fresh arugula salad and split a salmon entrée with the most tasty margarita basil sauce. Our wine of choice during the evening was an enjoyable Pinot Noir. We’ll be back for sure!

Like grandma used to make. Solid, authentic Italian food. I love the guy reading the specials with his accent I got hungry just listening. The food lived up to the recitation. Veal was tender and the lobster ravioli rivaled any I have had in Manhattan or long Island. Portions were generous and the service was very good. Note: in season you must make a reservation as in all of Naples except maybe MacDonald’s.

RUDESERVICE. After waiting for our reservation and rushed through dinner, we were told, having only been seated for an hour, that we needed to vacate our table because of too many reservations. Have been a patron numerous times, this will be my last. The owner is so rude and has no interest in customer service.

Dinner reservation for 7:00, we arrived on time & the restaurant was packed. When we finally were able to check in, they told us it would be awhile– would we like a glass of wine, there were 2 of us– we sat outside until almost 8. The food was terrific, but the service kind of rushed & non personal. We were charged for 3 glasses of wine. We never ordered any wine. When I mentioned this to the waiter, he went to check with the manager and said he would only charge us for 1. Again, the food was excellent, but the service was distant and I think we should have been asked if we wanted to purchase wine while we waited an hour for our reservation.

A few days ago we arrived at Panevino’s to meet our cousins who had made reservations for 5:45. We were there at 5:35 and were greeted by the gruff, burly Maitre De, whom I could easily have mistaken for the bouncer. He complained to us that he was trying to call our cousins because they had reservations for 5:30 and there were many people waiting! He then seated us and within 10 minutes our cousins arrived and swore to us that the reservations were for 5:45. The«friendly» Matre De was at our table in seconds and would have none of that, reiterating his displeasure. Finally, after his exit, we were able to get down to the business of selecting our dishes. I’m a great fan of Chicken Cacciatore over Pasta and this is what I ordered. Sadly for me my dish came with 2 tablespoons of overcooked veggies but no pasta, which was $ 7.50 more. In my long experience, I have never had Cacciatore without accompanying pasta as part of the dish. Paying extra was a gourmet restaurant wrinkle and believe me this was not a gourmet restaurant! Anyway, I had the pasta, a sorry, little dish of mushy spaghetti with, to their credit, a fairly good marinara sauce. The chunks of chicken in the Cacciatore were tough and sadly not at all appetizing. One of our cousins had the the same problem with her Cacciatore. Her husband had«Papardelle with mushroom sauce» and was served a bowel of something more akin to a thin mushroom noodle soup. My wife had Chicken Franchaise, which she enjoyed… hurray! Overall, our group had a sad expereience.

It was our first time to this restaurant and we were meeting someone who also had never eaten here. We were 20 minutes late for our 530 reservation. Our friend had already been seated. We ordered a glass of wine as soon as we were seated. Then some guy, I think a manager(not a waiter) came to tell us the specials. 3 – 4 minutes later he returned asking us for our order. We really hadn’t looked at the menu yet and told him that we weren’t ready to order. He then told us we needed to order since we were a half hour late arriving and people would be waiting for a table. His manner was rude and made us quite uncomfortable. I asked him if we should leave since we were disrupting the schedule. The menu was priced such that we expected a fine dining experience. He left and never returned. Another waiter returned in a few minutes and took our order The rest of our meal was uneventful although we now felt we needed to finish quickly. I did tell the waiter that we had been made uncomfortable and asked him to deliver our courses when I signaled him which he did. From the time I sat down to walking out the front door was a total of 1 hour and 14 minutes. The check with tip was around $ 150 for 3. We won’t return there because of the rudeness and discomfort we were made to feel.

Such good authentic Italian food. They’ve been in business for many years. No frills, but very solid food —

We went for our second time in 2 years last night. I had sworn that I would never go back after the first time but we decided to give it one more try since it is in our neighborhood. After we were seated the owner came over and told us the specials of the evening. It was obvious he wasn’t even interested since he didn’t even look at us while going over his list. He just stared into space. We then asked to order an appetizer while we decided on dinner. No, you can’t do that was his answer. All ordering has to be done at once. Then he informed us we should hurry and order since there was a big party before us and we’d have to wait for our food. Our first trip there with friends we sat down and the restaurant was not busy and we were were talking over a bottle of wine we had ordered before dinner(it had just been served) when he informed us we had to order now since we could only have the table so long. He is just rude. I used to be an upscale restaurant manager and there are ways you can say things. He doesn’t care. As it turned out we were out of there in 1 ½ hours which is reasonable and when we left there were open tables everywhere. The food was so so. There bus girl was excellent and was right on top of things getting our bread immediately and our wine server was also wonderful. By with this mans horrible attitude Im sure he doesn’t even realize what wonderful staff he has. There are so many wonderful restaurants in Naples Id stay away from this one.

Food was good. Wine was pretty good. Service was good, but may have struggled if more than a few tables. I asked if they had any whole wheat pasta, they did, I ordered it… they up charged $ 5…seriously? From $ 13 to $ 18. Maybe they grew the wheat out back??? At least mention cost up front… that kinda crap pisses me off… now if only I could find another Italian restaurant in Naples. Hmmm.

I’ve been to Panefino twice. The last being New Years eve 2013. We showed up without a reservation and the place was packed. They still seated us at the only open table. We ordered an appetizer and two entries. All three were excellent. The wait staff was attentive and I plan on taking friends there for a birthday dinner. When we left there were around ten people waiting to get in. I would suspect the folks who gave Panefino a one star rating had the issue and not the restaurant staff.

Eww rating for this establishment. Owner is all about the money. Mediocre food and experience. Skip this one next time you think of going out! My friend warned me, but I still went… shame on me!

We had a lovely dinner here. Osso bucco was delicious and the salmon was perfect. You should probably make a reservation as the place is quite small and seemed to fill up quickly, even in the off season.

Never again will I step foot in this place. Went on Friday night with my wife and was treated to some god awful food and a terribly rude defensive wait staff. Spend your money elsewhere. You were warned.

From a very displeased guest. I walked in to hear the owner telling a guest, quite abruptly, that this is a reservations only restaurant for 19 years. Not a very warm welcome if you ask me. The hostess asked us if we wanted a booth and we said yes, and just as we said yes, she showed us to a table and mentioned under her breath that it was owner’s orders to show us to a table instead of a booth. We had pretty good service, but the food was less than«authentic» and I felt as though my grandfather would be shaking his head in shame if he was there. After the meal we were asked to be so kind and leave, so they could(like a machine) push in and out other guests that were waiting. Dining out is a passion of mine, and if the experience leaves me feeling disgusted towards the end, then the whole purpose is defeated. I now know the real intentions of this establishment. I work in concierge and will not be recommending Panevino to anyone.

I love this restaurant! The food is sensational, and the penne a la vodka is one of my favorites! Absolutely mouth watering! The service has always been wonderful, a very Northern Italian vibe & customer service style!

This place is over priced and prententious. I can make the same dishes at home for way less money. They have a chip on their shoulder and it is undeserved. I could go to Olive Garden and be equally satisfied.
