This was my first time to this place and to any tapas place. Must say this was very tasteful. We went on a Thursday which was half off on mojitos, margaritas and sangrias that was a plus ! We ordered the bacon wrapped scallops– omg so good! Everything we ordered was delicious! Our waiter Victor was great too. I would’ve given it 5 stars but we did have to wait a bit for anyone to offer us drinks.

I feel as though I shouldn’t be leaving a review for here, so no one finds my «little gem,» but I love it too much to pass up mentioning it. The food is amazing, the wine is too(as long as you know your wines and what to order!) and staff is sweet and personable. The place is small and tucked away in a plaza, so I’m sure people have overlooked it, but it’s well worth the time! Perfect for a date night or a night out with the girls!

I’ve heard some people having a bad experience with the customer service but I have to give this place a five star. We went on a Wednesday night and it wasn’t too busy. The service was great and tapas were just scrumptious. We also tried two types of sangrias: mango and strawberry. Mango was my favorite. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be back.

Went here for a girls night and loved it. Great selection on the menu for both food and drinks. Loved the goat cheese fritters, beef skewers and all the tacos! Would definitely recommend this to anyone. Added bonus was a 30% discount for teachers!

High rating for the quick service and fresh hot delicious tapas with a great ambiance– pretty small space but well designed and still feels private at your table; has the makings of quaint restaurant you might see in the city or small village downtown setting. I didn’t try any cold tapas but the patatas bravado are a favorite as well as the empanadas. Low rating for the fruit that was a bit lacking in the sangria — just some small apples and oranges; Not the freshest. $ 30 for a liter of sangria struck me as a expensive. For two people sharing 4 tapas with sangria the total was $ 70 before tip. Definitely not for the budget conscious but worth the splurge. The food and atmosphere is worth it.

This is a tiny little place tucked away in a little strip mall at a busy corner surrounded by activity. It is unassuming, and looks from the outside like it would be a counter service spot, but do not assume. The place is small and warm. The tone is casual and upbeat. The lighting is dim and intimate, which is good because tapas is intimate food. The owner was working the room, making sure everyone was happy, and gave us good suggestions. And off course the food was very good. Beef, pork, chicken, cheese, and a variety of veggies… with no misses in the bunch.

We called and made a reservation, arrived 5 mins before, but got seated 20 minutes later. Not to mention, this couple just walks in and cuts in front of us. Can you guess what happened next? Duh! They got seated first. So Annoying. The host could of at least given us an explanation. The table we ended up with was a little weird. It felt like we were in the middle of everything. I asked for 1 water but we ended up with 3. I’m pretty sure we actually had 3 different servers, yet not 1 asked us about our food. The bill is already taken care of and then we get asked if we ordered dessert. Lol! What an experience! Thank g*d for Groupon, because paying for that kind of service is ridiculous. The interior is cute though and you can write on the walls! We might be back ~_^

Not sure why it’s not a five star. Went there on Valentines. Nice atmosphere but it was loud TV/music not people. All the staff pitched in so the service was great. Of course we did not have everything. Of what we did order, the crab cakes and the albondigas were the stars-they rocked. We ordered a beef skewer was tender cooked perfectly but was short on flavor. On line the pricing was rated as $$- to me it should probably be three. No complaints still a great value. I have no reservations about recommending the Macarena Tapas. The only thing to have made the experience perfect would be if they included castanets at each table.

Stopped in on a Tuesday with the hubby only to find out they were offering $ 5 tapas!!! What a pleasant and enjoyable surprise! As always, the food was simply delicious! I personally enjoyed the pulled pork tacos with a sweet coleslaw on top. Hubby enjoyed the chorizo with peppers and onions the best. The potatoes were also a hit. Please note, you can’t use Groupons with the Tuesday $ 5 tapas.

I had the pleasure of dining at Macarena Tapas last night for a belated celebration with my boyfriend. I have to tell you, it is one of those cases where you don’t want to judge a book by its cover. To begin, it is located in a strip mall, next door to a cell phone place and a cici’s pizza. Truly, I was not expecting much. I read the reviews beforehand and although they were all great, it was hard for me to ignore that it was in a strip mall. Upon entering, it was dimly lit and the mood lighting was perfect for an evening out. The aroma of the delicious food made our mouths water. We were greeted promptly and seated at a table for two. The woman that seated us was also our server. I wish I would’ve caught her name. She was extremely pleasant and and knowledgeable about the menu. She greet us with a «Welcome home.» Honestly, that’s so cute-I love it. I ordered a Sangria de Pina Colada and it was excellent. I admit, I am a lightweight when it comes to alcohol consumption and tend to babysit my drinks all night. This sangria was delicious. The alcohols were not overwhelming at all. To start our meal, we ordered the beef empanadas. uhhh delicious. They were piping hot when they came to our table and were served with a garlic aioli gastrique on the side. While we were enjoying the empanadas, we also decided on the seafood flatbread. The flatbread had a super thin and crispy crust with a red(almost) marinara sauce spread topped with big delicious chunks of tilapia, shrimp, scallops, and calamari. All topped off with fresh arugala. So good. It was my boyfriend’s favorite. We also decided to order one more: the scallops. I would travel near or far for these scallops. I want these scallop as my future maids-of-honor. The delicious bacon wrapped heavenly morsels are in served atop a chipotle aioli, topped with an avocado sauce sprinkled with roasted coconut. Honestly, I could probably just order these next time and be totally satisfied. They were cooked to perfection. The chipotle, bacon, avocado, coconut flavors melded so well together. It was fab. For dessert, we ordered the croquetes de chocolate. Literally, just chocolate balls with honey. What more could you possibly want? They were so good! I really have never been so pleasantly surprised by a restaurant like this. It was perfect. Even the bathrooms were clean, and smelled amazing(kind of weird to mention, but it’s true!) If I had to name one thing that I was a little disappointed with is, we weren’t invited to sign their walls. :(All of their walls are covered in past customer’s praises and what-nots. I want to sign the wall! We will definitely be back. I’ll bring my own marker. ;)

Went for a friends birthday dinner, my initial impression was«oh no, a strip mall.» So much for first impressions. I enjoyed the intimate, clean lined décor. The table tops and wall dividers are from re-purposed materials, beautifully done. The food was nothing short of fantastic! Trust me, order the Tacos de Cochino and Queso de Cabra a Nuestra Manera! The only thing that keeps me from a 5 star review was the confusing service. The staff was fun and friendly, Victor could be my new best friend. We waited a bit to place drink and food orders, and I am not quite sure why we had a waiter and waitress, if they were training? We should have been checked on a bit more than we were, That being said, we ordered 8 dishes and they came out as they were cooked, the pacing was perfect! All in all one of the best dinners I have had in a while. Go with good friends, put your phones away, dine and talk. I will return soon, I have already recommended to several friends, I am hoping to give 5 stars next time. This place deserves to succeed!

First time here and I was pleasantly surprised. Selection was good & everything we had was delicious(with the exception of the blood sausage — I’m not a fan). Sangria was eh. Our table was visited by the chef & manager which I appreciate. It is very small and tables are extremely close together — like to the point that it is uncomfortable. All in all good tapas place in the ‘burbs.

Didn’t have to wait long for our food. Each tapas we ordered was very delicious. I can’t remember the name of each dish but the meat was so juicy and flavored just right! I have no complaints about this place.

My first time going to a tapas restaurant, and I’m glad I went to Macarena Tapas. My husband and I found this restaurant on Unilocal,on a whim. We wanted to try something new, so decided to try tapas. The food was amazing. The pork medallions wrapped in bacon were delicious, and their beef skewers were awesome. We also ordered spicy potatoes with cream sauce and cilantro, and beef on toasted bread with pepper. Service was great, the restaurant was small yet well decorated and it had an intimate feel. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you!

I will never go here again… ;/ Pros: Pork tacos were really good! Sangria was good but nothing to write home about. Cons: Service= not good! If I arrive before my friend that doesn’t mean I don’t want to be acknowledged until she gets here. I’d like a drink while I waited. We weren’t greeted for 15 min after I arrived. Food wasn’t bad but wouldn’t bring me back. The pork tacos were really good but we also got carb cakes, grilled veggies, empanadas and some goat cheese fritters. Everything else was editable. We’ve never been here before so I asked the server what he thought was good. He VERY quickly rambled off 20 different things. Ummm ok well on that note I’ll just keep looking. Even tho it took he 35 min to even ask if we wanted anything to eat. When I first arrived at 5 pm I said a table for two. The women in front said, «do you have a reservation.» We did not. So she told me she has one table available but needs it for a reservation at 6:30. I thought that was fine but I didn’t know what horrible service we would have. At 6:32 that same women came to our table and told us that she had warned us she needed the table. Yet our check was sitting on the table with a credit card on top of it. «Yea we are trying to cash out.» We awkwardly ended up standing up waiting for our credit card and attempting to put our coats on. Then when we were leaving she didn’t even say goodbye. She just watched us walk out… Ummmm bye thank you? Nothing!!! Food was ok but the service is really what will make me say NO I will NOT go there again! I went to this placed based on the Unilocal reviews. So I thought I would chime in on our experience.

Bff and I came here last minute with a groupon and no reservation. Decent service but it was on the slower side. Ordered: bacon wrapped dates, mussels, goat cheese, beef empanadas(reminiscent of samosas interestingly), and red sangria. Food was good, sangria quite underwhelming. Prices are on par with other tapas restaurants, I would like to return if they offer specials, but I am unsure if they do that.
