Enjoyed a delicious cheese and charcuterie platter. Paired it with both a white and red wine flight. Our server had a wealth of knowledge, regarding our wine selections and pairing. Glad we waited for some seats to open up.

This place never lets me down. Velvet sister goat cheese I bought today(after tasting it) was fabulous. The Ines Rosales tortas de aceite were a treat, as they were flavored with rosemary and thyme– and this is a flavor I have not tried before(love all the other flavors, though!) We also bought the fig and marcona almond«torte” — really a log of fig paste with almonds– delicious! Obviously the price is high– but it’s worth buying things here, just because you’ll find unusual and delicious things.

Really nice wine and cheese market in Oxbow Market. I didn’t partake in the wine as whenever I was there, it was too early for that or I had already had my fair share of it at the local wineries. I did buy a few small pieces of cheese and some fruit spreads. The cheese selection is great and if I returned to the area I could totally see myself cozied up at the bar enjoying a glass(or two) of wine and a cheese plate. There are plenty of wine gadgets as well as cheese gadgets for purchase. Staff was friendly and wiling to answer any questions.

Go for the smalllll cheese bites that are in a basket, most likely leftover from cutting other bits. A+ selection and better to try a tiny taste then spend sooo much on a cheese you may not like. Definitely get the cowgirl creamery blues, so yum!

I took my brother & sis-in-law here, they were visiting me for a few days ;-) They’re from, … Wait for it, … Michigan!

Absolutely loved this place. There are other options in the oxbow but this one is special! The lady who helped us was so sweet and really helped us pick exactly what we wanted. They have so many options for cheese, charcuterie and wine. We sat at the bar inside, which was small but it looked like they had a lot of space to sit outside.

Huge selection in a small corner of the Oxbow market. The staff was knowledgable and happy to permit tasting if you needed some help deciding. They should stock bread though to give shoppers a great overall experience. Luckily they did stock a few great cracker options. Prices not so steep if you’re looking for a selection of small portions.

The service was amazing. Prices are reasonable and I love the entire experience. The server let us try everything before we committed and was very upbeat and friendly. I enjoyed the selection that is provided and the rotating wine and cheese.

This place is like Disney Land for cheese lovers! I always make sure to stop by and taste a cheese and meat platter when I’m in Oxbow. It’s so exciting to try new and delicious cheeses from their wide selection. The staff are really personable, open to all questions and can definitely help you find the perfect cheese you need. I wasn’t able to try their sandwiches but for the quality of the cheeses and meats that they load the sandwiches with, it’s worth the price. Will definitely get a sandwich next time I’m here!

Hands down the best place to get cheese in downtown Napa. I secretly get a little giddy when we go to the Oxbow because I get to peruse all of the yummy cheeses they have to offer and even taste some with wine! Melissa helped us out at Happy Hour and suggested a great cheese board paired with beer… I know, kinda sounds a little weird– but it worked.

My Mom and I had a great time here. Melissa was our bartender/cheese expert and we were both very impressed. She is personable and relaxed, not pushy at all. She helped us pick out some great cheese plates and wine. She also had more than one set of regulars at her bar which indicates she is consistently very good at what she does. Service is such a strong part of why I write reviews and why I want to return to places. It’s also harder to find then it should be. Cheers Melissa! If I lived closer, I’d be a regular. We can’t wait to come back :)

Great wines and cheese on a matched pairing. Had a flight of reds and liked them all but two well enough to purchase bottles to go. Not the friendliest service but good enough.

Gave this place a try again today. A mistake. I stood opposite an employee. She kept wrapping cheese in plastic and didn’t look up at me. When she finally did I smiled and she looked down and after I minute asked if I was waiting for food. I said I was waiting to try some cheese and she asked if I meant a cheese board or a «piece of cheese». I told her I would like to buy a «piece of cheese». I asked if she had a specific kind and she said yes and pointed to the other side of the counter and told me to go get a piece myself. This turned me off. This place used to have great customer service. They used to be very knowledgeable and excited to let you try different cheeses and turn you on to different kinds. I miss that. It’s very expensive and caters to tourists so the service should be top notch. This girl was clearly not interested in helping me. I will not be back.

This review had nothing to do with the wine, only the service. We have eaten at the Oxbow Market many times & love the deck & food. We stopped after hiking the River to Ridge trail, pretty quiet for a Saturday mid-afternoon. After getting settled on the deck we ordered some food from different vendors and once set I went to order some wine, event though there was only a handful of people sitting around the bar area I couldn’t get one of the two wine guys to take my order, it might have been the 3 young lady’s they were talking too. I tried to order from someone at the cheese side only to be sent back to the wine boys, LSS I was 1 second from walking across the isle when one came over. 20mins later another person(man) went back in for another bottle & had the same treatment, he went to Hog Island for our next bottle & over the next two hours the 6 of us spent $ 120 at Hog Island. We love the vibe here and relaxing on the deck, but not the attitude of the wine servers.

Best cheese I have ever had for a long time. Was lured by Caldwell Winery in Napa we the cheese selection during tasting. I bought the Shepardrita and Mozerella from St Reyes to go… both were excellent. They also sell the Pinot Noir half bottle from Melville Winery in Lumpoc.

Had the local cheese plate and charcuterie. Sat outside on the patio and enjoyed sunny Nor Cal weather. Highly recommend a trip to this cheese market at Oxbow.

This is my spot when I’m at Oxbow in Napa. Locals and tourists go here and this is where I always start my evening. You can go with friends or by yourself. You’ll always find friendly faces and people to chat with. And sports on tv if that’s what you’re into. The beers on tap always change, which is nice. They even have Pliny on occasion. The wine list is also great, with so many wonderful wines to try. And the server will help you pick out something if you have a hard time deciding. If you’re at Oxbow, you must visit the Wine Merchant!

The Oxbow Cheese & Wine Merchant fits its premier market status without transcending it. They have a large display of cheese with some shelves located in the back, overall not taking up much square feet in the market. The business is heavy and buried in variety. It looks like an out of touch Napa place, but it could be stretched to something in slick like in Vancouver, Canada’s Granville Market. They had hard and soft cheeses, cheese from blocks away and thousands of miles apart alike and so on. I was looking for a snack. Then I inquired what would work for a snack and got a form of soft cheese that was about $ 7. It was an okay price for the quality, but nothing out of the ordinary. It wasn’t like catching the golden rabbit by any stretch of the imagination. Their large display is easy to walk about and each cheese is labeled. They will help you and some samples are given. On the right end, is a bit of wine, obligatory in Napa of course. Oxbow Cheese & Wine Merchant is particularly suitable when visiting the Oxbow Market.
