They roast their coffee fresh 4 days a week and have the best espresso I have ever tasted. I am not originally much of a coffee fan but the second you walk in the smell consumes you. I will drink a mocha from here any day of the week(and they use Ghirardelli chocolate!). The staff is friendly sweet. I get coffee from the Roasting Company as a gift for many family members. Theres a Starbucks on the corner across the street, but why would anyone even think to go there when you can support a locally own business who roasts their own copy in their up-valley location! Best coffee in the Valley!

Stopped in here on a rainy day in Napa. It was $ 3.35 for the standard latte(one shot only), and additional 75 cents for an extra shot, and another 85 cents for flavoring. The café itself didn’t leave too much of an impression. It’s quaint, fairly small. The baristas were friendly and got the job done. They didn’t overwhelm my drink with sweetness, so that was a plus. But the drink itself didn’t have too much much of a punch to be completely honest. I’d stop in if I were in the area again, but I’ve definitely had better coffee.

After having excellent espresso drinks at the St. Helena branch, decided to try their Napa venue. Service was poor on one occasion and the cappucchino drinks were terrible and amateuirisly made on two occasions. Obviously the baristas are not properly trained and the management is non-existant at this branch.

Really surprised the coffee wasn’t very good here. I mean they have the location — the latte was poorly executed on all fronts. I had the gal make another, came out the same — I tossed it and went to starbucks down the street

The coffee here is great. I don’t get the negative reviews complaining about the service or no Wi-Fi. This is a coffee house in Napa, not some hipster hangout in Silicon Valley. Enjoy the live music and the ambiance. The service is just fine.

A cherished spot among locals. The coffee is better than most and people are always warm and friendly. Good place to go to sit and visit with friends. I hope this spot stays open for years to come.

I really wanted to like the Napa Valley Coffee Roasting co — in fact, I was the one who stirred my friends away from the Starbucks on the opposite corner of the street. But with the long lines, the inefficient order taking, and even more inefficient order distribution inside the establishment, the coffee — no matter how strong and fresh tasting — just couldn’t make up for it. A pity too because with the limited menu, it is apparent that Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Co spends more time on serving the right beans and brewing your cup of joe to perfection, but the cramped insides(due to an inattentive staff) takes away from the coffee.

Ill edit that. The coffee was strong which was much needed. The place was small but clean. Its not the businesses fault shes could use to trainning in the correct way to conduct ones self. Previous review. Worst service. Brista named carol flirting. She spent a few minutes on our coffee then started flirting with my boyfriend. He smiled and tried to walk away. Clearly uncomfortable. Will not be back she was very unprofessional with doing that.

Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Company is one of my absolute favorites. It reminds me of Third Place in Raleigh, North Carolina — old, quaint, constant but not crazy busy. One of my goals in living in Napa is to support local business whenever it is possible. I was incredibly disappointed in the City of Napa and for this coffee shop when a Starbuck’s opened across the street. I feared this giant corporation would gobble up NVCR. But(thank goodness) all that has done is improve the coffee shop’s business! The staff is lovely and they are talented baristas who can get you out of here as quickly as you’d like. Or you can sit back and people watch locals and visitors. I often run into friends and always enjoy my experience. The coffee is also great and at a second bar you can purchase coffee that they will grind for you. Please help Napa from turning into«anywhere» USA and support these local downtown businesses. They even leave a fresh bowl of water outside for(wo)man’s best friend!

I really really really want this to be «my» coffee shop. See, I’ve always been the type to work out of coffee shops not just for school or work but sometimes to just take your laptop and get shit done. That’s the best part of coffee– getting shit done. Unfortunately this coffee shop has NO WiFi and the only power outlet they have in the seating area is covered up with a note that reads«no public power outlets». Now on the one hand, I get the whole«look up» thing they may be going for but to be honest I think they just don’t want people hanging out or to invest anything in to the customer experience here. It’s a shame really because they have such a cool space(the upstairs loft would be so incredible if it was customer seating instead of a desk that hardly gets used). It just doesn’t make business sense because the good coffee is just over the bridge at Ritual and the good seating with WiFi and power outlets is just right across the street at Starbucks. In fact, I just walked over to Starbucks and it’s packed over here right now while I can see NV Coffee Roasting Co empty across the street.(Insert frownie face here). Please get some wifi/power outlets and I’ll come back– promise!

Had been in Kohl’s before deciding to try this place out. This location at the downtown strip is nice, older building with a nice coffee shop feel. I ordered an iced mocha which was very good, but more than I wanted to pay for an iced drink. Service was ok, nothing special. Might come back in the future, but wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way for it.

Finally fixed up after the earthquake they are a lovely little shop. They have been on this very convenient corner for a long time and while it may look small do not be fooled– they have a full selection of coffees and teas and know how to make them well. They also have a much quicker service than Starbucks and they give everything a personal touch. I’ve been there towards closing time and still nursing my drink and they were kind enough to tell me to take my time and that they would just clean up around me and I could let myself out when I was done. Their window seats are wonderful for people watching and a great place to warm up in the winter. The only thing I would change is I would like a few more food/snack options added to the treats they carry. Now there is a new Starbucks across the street and I get it– the tourists want something consist with their home but please people — it’s Napa– you’ve come here for our small town charm and quality so take a second look at our local places, not the chains you can get at home. You will be happy you made the effort to have the real Napa experience.

I loaded up my kindle with great books, barreled out of my house for the gym and was so very excited to support local business(after living in SF for 3 years) by posting up in the coffee shop and reading. I grew up coming here! The drinks are done well, it’s a cozy place with charm, and you can watch passers by on Main Street. What more do you want? I’ll tell you, Wifi. I’m surely not the first person to gripe about this. It has to be a business decision. Who doesn’t want people to sit inside all day– reading, working or studying, continuing to buy drinks/snacks? Sorry guys, there’s a Starbucks 20ft away with wifi and a loyalty program(every 12th drink free w/gold card). I’ll still keep you as a first date place. But get with the program why don’t cha?! –2 stars.

I love going into this cute little coffee house in downtown Napa. Local businesses are great to support and this one is no different. The baristas are always so friendly and helpful, they make personal recommendations that are sincere(not just recommending a trendy or pricey item). I love getting beans from here to grind and brew at home as well. There is a variety of different roasts and they’re always happy to talk about the different things they have that day. They make a mean latte with incredible foam, which is very rare. Order a flat white with double espresso, my favorite.

Visiting Napa, looking for something to grab during our road tour, we’ve found a Starbucks. But, c’mon, it is a Starbucks… Looking across The street we saw a charming place that looked nice. And it was. Espresso was very well done and The attendants were very friendly too. Coffee was very good, ending buying 3 packages.

Wonderful coffee shop in the center of Downtown Napa. I love this shop the barista was so nice and when I asked her to do a design on my latte she gave me a little heart. The place is quiet and cozy not packed and busy like Starbucks is. I’m able to sit quietly and read a book and meet Napa locals. I enjoy Starbucks for when I’m busy and have to run but local businesses should be supported they are a gem plus the coffee is way better. I recommend this place to anybody that is looking to get a great cup of coffee, latte or anything your heart desires in a quiet and cozy environment.

Wonderful, small coffee shop in downtown Napa. With such a great local coffee shop, I have no idea how someone would go to the Starbucks across the street with such a nice local run shop in the neighborhood. When I walked in the door, I was greeted with a positive and emphatic hello from the barista behind the counter. Judging from the crowd in the location, they have a huge local following. One of the mornings they had live cello music in the place, adding a pleasant ambiance. I ordered a coffee and a decaf latte for my fiancée. Both were fresh roasted and excellent. The visit was so pleasant, I’d recommend a stop for a coffee any time you’re in Napa.
