Napa General Store

Cute shop. Friendly staff and customers. Our server, Lisa, is very knowledgeable about wine. This made choosing a glass much easier for me. The salmon flatbread was good, but if I ordered it again I would ask to go light on the arugula. There was to much arugula and that spicy flavor overpowered the delicate crème fresh and salmon.

What are the odds the week I stay in the Napa area, it is «Napa Restaurant Week»? I mean, they tell me it is like foodie mecca there. Thanks to my incredible work schedule, I got to take advantage of almost none of it.
However, I saw that a place called the Napa General Store had dessert included with a lunch entrée. After getting my ass kicked and driving my way back to the area from work, I was exhausted. Now that I think about it, I probably looked homeless too. I noticed this place was also open earlier than most places on the NRW list, and I figured I may as well check out one of the places at least, ja?
It was a cloudy and rainy out that morning, but I at least got to see what the city of Napa actually looked like (cool little town IMO). I followed the GPS, and found a surface lot right in front of the place (FYI– this place is tucked away in the corner so keep your eyes peeled!).
I proceeded to walk through a hallway filled with cougars (not sure what that was about) and was greeted to a store (hence the name, Napa General Store). I did some walking around to see if there was anything I may be interested in taking back as a souvenir, but no one in my immediate family are wine enthusiasts.
I proceeded to walk past the store, where there was a hostess. I told her I was hungry and asked if I was allowed to eat. She got a menu, and sat me down. The place was not very crowded at all (which was good for me, I knew I would get served quicker). I was looking and noticed I got a breakfast menu, and not a lunch menu (waawaa– looks like no dessert for me!).
After I was greeted by my server, I ordered coffee and a large OJ (which, BTW– a large glass is $ 6 and not that large! I was expecting to have a gold leaf garnish…) to start off. Then I realized, the few people that were in there, were giving me odd looks. I should have started charging them…
I noticed the breakfast menu seemed healthier than what I am used to. I know with all of the crap I usually do ingest, I may as well get something healthy. So you know what? I ordered an «Italian Scramble» and guess what, it contained NO meat! I think, this was the healthiest meal of 2016 so far me. May be of all time…
The food came quickly, and I realized it took me a little longer to eat it than normal. Was I being self-​conscience of the all the eyes on me? Was it just that much food? To this day, I still don’t know, but I wasn’t my normal self. The food itself was decent and I ended up not getting sick from it so that was a plus!
I heard they were having a private party at lunch, so I guess I lucked out and was able to get some food here. The people were nice to me, at the same time kept their distance (I must of smelled of shame and shattered dreams). As I went back out to my car, that hallway was flooded again with a different group of cougars, WTH!!! I just might have to go back if I am ever back in the area!

The brunch was very delightful. They looked after our group of 11 beautifully. The food was delicious and it all came out hot. The service was great. Thank you, Noi!

We made a reservation for lunch and had driven into town planning to meet the rest of our party here. On arrival we were told the kitchen had run out of food. When asked why they didn’t call us they just shrugged and barely apologized.
Definitely not a well run operation.

Truly a hidden gem of a place for a great breakfast on a weekend! Went here after reading the Unilocal reviews and once again, Unilocalers did us proud! Even used the check-​in feature on Unilocal,which gave us a free mimosa with our breakfast! Oh yeah, did I mention that the food was awesome, too?!

Napa Scramble was delicious!
The vermicelli noodle bowl is unique & delicious, I would highly recommend getting it.
The wait staff are all wonderful

Absolutely love the breakfast here! (We only had breakfast, so I can’t speak for lunch and dinner). I was recently in Napa on my honeymoon and my husband and I came here 4 out of our 6 mornings here. No joke! Delicious scrambles and excellent cornmeal pancakes. Situated as part of a general store with souvenirs. Kinda like a Cracker Barrel, but way less corp. We loved this place and will definitely return when we come back!

When we had family come into town we took them out to brunch here. We had 3 kids with us so we thought sitting outside would be the best. The staff was very accommodating from the minute we made a reservation. They even had high chairs waiting for us at the table when we arrived along with plastic cups for the kiddos.
The day we went was the last really hot day of fall but they had shades up and the surrounding trees and plants provided some shade. Sitting outside may have been hot but it was absolutely gorgeous overlooking the river with all of the flowers still in bloom. The courtyard outside of the Silo has a beautiful mosaic fountain that the kiddos had a blast looking at and dancing around while we waited for our food.
The menu itself was pretty good. Nothing really special or noteworthy but it was all very tasty and well prepared. For a brunch spot in Napa it is very reasonably priced and had a wide selection of brunch options. The service was a little slow the day we came but on a busy Sunday morning I was expecting it to be. The wait staff was very friendly and checked in on us often and even provided updates us on the progress of our food.
It might not be the fanciest or most renown brunch spot but the food was good and the atmosphere was very pleasant. I left happy and full.

Great atmosphere & location. Food was consistently (dined with 4 others) good. Jordan (our server) was awesome! friendly, happy and knew what he was talking about.

I went to this place couple times and I come back again just for the atmosphere and environment. They have limited menu choices in my opinion: they have appetizers, salad, sandwiches, and pizza. I always get the Asian chicken salad, it’s good and it seems like it’s one of the popular item. The food have a good portion with affordable price for Napa. I also ordered the sweet and spicy chicken wings, it’s so flavorful. The restaurant is hidden in this shop and I would never expect there’s a restaurant there. I would recommend go there and have an outside sit. Perfect weather, a bit sunny, slight breeze, great view, so romantic! I think it would be great spot for dinner too! Staff are nice as well, I would come back and try more appetizer dishes.

Yes it’s a little touristy, but the food is decent and the atmosphere is delightful. The menu offers offers mostly American fare with a few curve balls like fresh spring rolls and Vietnamese inspired rice noodle bowls. Service is always pleasant and they will happily take a photo of your party upon request.
I’ve been here a few times and have sampled the Salmon Flat Bread and Rice Noodle Bowl. Salmon Flat Bread is really tasty and is always a favorite at the table. Noddle bowl has lots of fresh ingredients but is really sauce heavy — I would get it again but ask for sauce on the side.
Gift shop is fun to peruse before you’re seated, but most items are on the pricier end.
Tip: Best seat in the house is outside on the patio! Request an outside table in advance.

We stopped here for lunch on our first day in Napa. My man had their featured andouille sausage sandwich and I had the chopped chicken salad. Both were excellent. The patio was very pleasant. Service was great! We liked the food so much on our last day in Napa we went back for breakfast and enjoyed egg scramble dishes. Our server didn’t even charge for a corkage fee for the wine we brought. I had a 2 for 1 tasting coupon for their wine bar. The bartender was a little short with us about that. I would recommend to pass on the wine tasting here but enjoy the food, patio, and giftshop.

My family and I decided to try Napa Grneral Store for breakfast. We were very pleased with the ambiance of the restaurant when you walk in. Its an old world store celebrates the Napa wine heritage. As you walk through to look around you immediately are welcomed with aromas of heavenly BACON!
We sat outside in their patio area. I had the ham and cheese omelette with a cappuccino. It was absolutely delicious! Light, fresh and just what tou need to start off the week. Our server was attentive and consistent. We will definitely be back.

I have lived in napa for a while and i have to say that the general store is a great one stop shop, not just for tourists but for residents as well.
The food: its always super yummy and i always have complicated orders that they are always super nice and accommodating of. I have to appreciate that. people can always find something they like so its really great for large groups of people.
The service: for some reason i always like to sit on the patio, because its really beautiful and they are a dog friendly restaurant so i can bring my pooch. This is why i am usually served by Jordan. He is great, super polite and never seems like he is stressed or in a rush. he always takes the time to check in with us and answer any questions. I have only had another server once and she was great as well.
The store: I love bringing friends who a re from out of town here, mostly because i am too lazy to take them to several other additional stores. When I bring them to the general store they can shop and eat and i can go home and do some more relaxing. Its great for everyone, plus they have a wine bar so its a three for one type place. you cant beat that!!!
Overall– its great for me, great for guests and great for doggies. The only thing i wish is that they would have a sign closer to the front that tells you to walk through the store to be seated. Its a little hard to know they serve food. but honestly that makes my guests feel like they are going to a hidden gem.

This is my personal favorite restaurant in Napa! My favorite part is the peaceful outdoor seating under the palm trees and umbrellas. Today, I’m here for lunch. I ordered the Cuban sandwich, which may be a temporary menu item, but I really enjoyed it. I usually order a pizza here, though.
But my favorite thing I ever had here was the banana pancakes during brunch. Maybe it was because I was pregnant, but as soon as I took my first bite, I thought, «Effing amazing!» I wish I had some right now…
I brought my 8-​month-​old daughter, and they are always very accommodating. High chairs are provided, as well as half an avocado for her to enjoy.
For dessert, I recommend BEIGNETS… In all caps, because they’re BEIGNETS! Chocolate filled donut desserts with cut up strawberries. Can’t wait to get ours!

This Napa General store was second of our foodie tour stops today. They had outdoor seating but we were served indoor at the wine bar area.
It was a bit busy in there today but they also have a little shopping area with items that had been hand crafted by artists located within the area. I did have my eyes on the leather purse although a bit pricey!
We got to sample the smoked salmon flatbread which we were able to get two pieces each! It had arugula purple onions smoked salmon with crème fraîche and capers. I actually liked this and thought it was a treat to get a couple slices!
I had to use the ladies restroom which had a locked code but luckily it was unlocked. I think it would be nice to try this business again & give it a review it truly deserves!
I just might choose to purchase an item in the shopping area too. They had multiple things I had my eyes on besides the purse, the beautiful glass sushi board?!!

The 4 star average on this place is totally undeserved. Maybe because it’s near the downtown hotels and hungover tourists go there?
Anyway, I had the cornmeal pancakes which were not very good. THE SYRUP WAS $ 1.50 EXTRA for about ¾ ounce, not anywhere near enough for 3 pancakes. My wife had a scramble that was bland and uninspired. The chocolate filled beignets were the only redeeming item, and they aren’t even real beignets. For these items plus coffee and tip it was $ 43. This is insane. There are so many better places for breakfast nearby, do not waste a meal in Napa.

This general store specializes in everything a wine lover could hope for! You want find the regular jams, candles, and candies at this store, but you will find wine novelties of all varieties, a tasting area, and a nice small menu to choose from for breakfast or lunch.
A wine flight of 5 wines of your choosing from their menu costs $ 20. The wines are all «hand selected» by the General Store, and are limited release by the local wineries. Prices are very reasonable for Napa Valley and they run monthly specials that might get you a discount on your purchase. At the end of the tasting bar, there was an iPad where you could enter to win a nice item. After entering, the iPad gave a word of the day for a free tasting.
The food was excellent in the opinion of my better half, who I ran to pick up food for. She had the clam chowder and spring rolls. They have indoor and outdoor seating for you to enjoy your meal and a beverage of your choice.
The staff was all friendly and helpful.
It’s a wonderful stop, and they are excellent and reasonably priced for the area!
