Literally the worst bartender I’ve ever met. Tried to get dinner with a gf tonight at the bar, had to practically beg to order anything. Drinks sat dry for ages while she(blonde short haired bartender) chatted up the male patrons and completely ignored us, even after trying to get her attention. I’ve bartended for years; it’s not hard to give guests an enjoyable experience(especially when there are only 6 people at your bar… and we are 2 of them.)

Loved the ostrich burger! Came for restaurant week while in Napa wuth my sister-in-law. We did the salad, ostrich burger with truffle fries, and homemade twix bar with ice cream. It was dynamite! We sat in the back near the bar and it was loud but not too bad. Overall experience was great. Good service and we were able to get in earlier than our reservation.

I met some business colleagues for a glass of wine before heading off to dinner. The atmosphere is lively and fun, the service was great as our bartender gave a great recommendation and the wine was great too! Definitely a great place to stop in and enjoy a nice glass of wine in downtown Napa.

My first ostrich burger. Quite a surprise for me. Superb flavor and moistness. This location is known for its ostrich burgers, so consistency is probably not a problem. If you’ve never had ostrich and you come here, you’re in for a delightful surprise in taste.

Great service, nice wine selection and the mushroom flat bread is delicious with a duck egg added on it.

I went with three other people and we all left happy. We had drinks, a cheese plate and different meals– and we all raved about our choices to each other. I got the Golden Fleece drink and the ostrich burger– both were excellent but my girlfriends thought my drink was a little strong for them so if you prefer to not taste any alcohol there are better options– my friend had something made with a fruit purée that was divine(and probably too easy to drink). The cheese plate was wonderful, soft cheese with roasted veg — we all loved it. My burger with the cherries and Brie was incredibly good and the truffle fries an excellent pairing. Our waiter was very attentive and nice, even joked nicely about my nerdiness when he overheard me geeking out at the amusement of my friends. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate our joint birthday.

Awesome happy hour! Limited menu for those who have allergies. But for those without, definitely some tasty things to drool over. A bit pricy, and the wine list is too extensive for some of the staff… I’ll go back for happy hour…

After spending a few hours strolling through downtown Napa and seeing all of 5 people total, we weren’t expecting a huge turnout at happy hour, but Carpe Diem proved us wrong. Of course when we arrived shortly after they opened, there was only one other table sat, but by 5 the whole place was packed! It felt like all of Napa suddenly crept out of the wood works for probably one of the best hours in the whole valley. The wines were delicious and also strong. After the first glass we were already well on our way to a great buzz. And the food was delicious! Recommend the mushroom flatbread and Moroccan chicken tacos which were both on happy hour, and the Ostrich Burger from the dinner menu. Could definitely skip the shot of soup. Ours was pisono(?) which had chunks of some gelatinous chicken product. Overall great place and perfect way to start your wine weekend!

Went here recently with another couple. The outside is still under construction but the inside is warm and inviting. Everything we ordered was delicious– from appetizers to dinner to dessert. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. At the end of dinner the manager came over and chatted with us. Will definitely dine here again.

Delicate food. We tried today’s soup with truffle oil, which was great but a little bit salty, I would suggest it be accompanied by some bread. Their wild mushroom flatbread, which I believed was another name for pizza(haha), was my favorite! The lamb was Okay, but the suggested wine was not that up to my expectation, perhaps just because I tried too many wines today. Anyway, an elegant restaurant, strong recommended!

Carpe Diem wine bar was one of the highlights of my recent Napa trip. If you like food and drink happy hours with a cool trendy vibe, this is absolutely the place to go. You can find their happy hour from 4−6pm boasting small plates for under $ 5 and glasses of house wine and bubbles for $ 6. There’s currently scaffolding all around the outside of the building, but don’t let that fool you — the interior is classy and chic with both a front and back bar, and plenty of dinner seating in between. The front bar area is where I spent most of my time, so my review will primarily be for that area and the happy hour as a whole. I will say that the dinner area filled up quickly, so I assume that’s good as well. The happy hour is great for food and beverages. Incredibly affordable, tasty, and the staff is knowledgable about both their wines and their food. I went back on my second night in Napa as well, it was that good. A white, a red, and a bubbles are all purchasable for $ 6, the wines rotate based on what they have in house. I had a glass of white wine($ 6) which was great, and the bubbles($ 6). The bubbles pored well with the $ 10 charcuterie board, which was amazing. We also tried the shot of soup($ 1.5) the Carpe Diem salad($ 5) the risotto ball($ 3) and the chef special taco(pork). The latter was the only item I didn’t thoroughly enjoy. Everything was a highlight from the service to the food, the music was fun and trendy and the patrons were talkative. This is definitely the place to check out for appetizers and drinks during the happy hour(4−6pm)

I’m going to have dreams about the duck breast Mac and Cheese for years to come. So good. What was even better was the deconstructed twix bar dessert. When I die and go to heaven I’ll eat that every day!

Holy Cow! This place is awesome. All the food is phenomenal. You cannot go wrong. From the Mushroom soup the re-created Twix Bar dessert, its all incredible. Staff is great, location is perfect. A must while in Napa if you wish to stay downtown and at a more low-key place.

This place is awesome! Atmosphere: very cute, dimly lit so great for a romantic dinner, or even a just a special occasion dinner with friends Service: very attentive Wine: Got a bottle of red, I don’t remember what kind, but it was very good Food: Started with the tuna tartar and burratta appetizers. Both were delicious(4⁄5). Then we got the scallops, which were good but I wasn’t fond of the orangey/ginger taste, so I would say 3⁄5. The ostrich burger with brie was by far my favorite(5⁄5). SO flavorful and perfectly cooked. Overall: Would definitely recommend it and would love to come here again!

I wasn’t sure exactly what rating to give. We were seated and waited. The folks next to us ordered drinks and apps; they got their drinks and then their apps. We still had not ordered. We waited another minute and left. The manager ended up calling about three minutes apologizing and asking us to come back. Apparently the manager released our server but no one hold the hostess… We did. They comped us a few things. Service obviously much better when we returned. Food overall pretty good. The duck mousse was good. The meat and cheese selection was the star of the night. Quack n Cheese was very lacking of the quack, but ok. The mussels were decent but nothing exceptional. Wine list was decent. When we returned meal would have probably been a 3.5 maybe rounded up to a 4.

Great potential but lacking attention to detail. I was looking forward to having a heirloom tomato bursts salad and got a chunk of burrata with tomato jam and crostini. It was good but totally did not match the description on the menu. We ordered a flat bread with mushrooms and arugula and ended up having two breads with cheese. We would have ordered something else had we known. Very politely we mentioned it to the waiter and host/manager but all they did is say we heard us(also very politely). Both the flat bread and burrata had way too much oil on them(why would you put oil on an already fatty soft cheese?) and the flat bread’s consistency was too think and it had too much cheese. The arugula and mushrooms were great. I might give this restaurant another chance.

Carpe Diem is a ‘must visit’ when downtown Napa. The owner takes an avid role in the dining experience and visits each table multiple times. I selected a white wine flight and my husband had a delish buttery wine from the Russian River Valley. Our server was extremely busy, but they are well staffed with help to clean tables, refill drinks, deliver food, etc. We started off with an extremely fresh cheese and cheese plate. My husband ordered their soup of the season(squash with oils decorated on top) and it was top notch! He also ordered the scallops with gnocchi, which were prepared well and not fishy at all. I had the mussels… amazing. The portion was small but I wasn’t hungry so that worked out perfectly. It came with chargrilled bread for dipping as well. We ordered a French Press as dessert and the owner sent us their homemade ‘Twix’ and cocoa ice cream dessert! It was on the house as a gift for our One Year Wedding Anniversary. We we were so stuffed but had to made room for dessert because it was homemade shortbread sticks covered in dark chocolate, laid atop small scoops of local cocoa ice cream, drizzled with caramel and topped with fresh sea salt. Oh. My. Goodness. Thanks Carpe Diem!

Nice environment and service. Wine flyers have a good selection of local and french wines. Filet mignon and cobbler were the best!

Once again Carpe Diem delivers on all aspects of the dining experience. From the moment we sat in the new expansion, the service, food and ambiance was spot on. The new craft cocktails and diverse wine list gave a multitude of options. We had the House made Burrata, Charcuterie and Ahi Tartar to start. Then on to the Crab stuffed Squash Blossoms. My new favorite! Plenty of Ostrich burgers were consumed and the Daily Tacos were bursting with flavor. For the vegetarian in the group, the Carpe Pasta satisfied. The meal was concluded with the House made Twix Bar, Peach Cobbler AND the Pot de Cream. WOW, next level goodness! Can’t wait to return.

Me llevo Kelly Duckh… Gracias.
