This was my first stop in Napa for a short weekend visit and ended up being one of my favorites. The grounds are beautiful with amazing views from the back patio. The host was very informative and a pleasure to chat with. My favorite wines were the Rose and the Red Label Cabernet. I will definitely come back the next time I’m in town.

I am actually a physician of one of Kieu’s nephews and he’s nice enough to bring me a bottle of wine when he comes and visits me at the office. I can say that his Cabarnet is definitely comparable to the 90+ rated Cabarnets I buy at Costco’s etc… Will definitely visit his vineyard next time I’m up in Napa.

I recently discovered Kieu Hoang and already am a huge fan of their Cab! The wines are wonderful and the operator is warm, knowledgeable and very professional. The bottles are as unique as the wines and add a lovely finish to everything from a casual dinner to a Black Tie event. Very impressed and look forward to tasting their new selections!

I came here upon recommendation and hearing through the grape vine(no pun intended) about this winery opened by the forest Forbes listen Vietnamese American billionaire. Gimmicks aside and strange rumors, I was extremely impressed by the layout of the winery. It is not commercial in the sense that you have to ‘check in’ for a tasting or stand by the counter. It’s leisurely, sitting either on the back balcony overlooking the stretch of vines or in the front courtyard under trees and lush lounges. A classic tasting costs $ 15 with 3 red wines to taste. Extremely drinkable and great table wines. The People’s wine is particularly palettable. A wonderful setting and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend this to anyone. Also sprawling hills to sit and overlook. Bottles range between $ 25-$ 80 at the moment. Tasting is of course wavered with purchase of 2 or more bottles.

We stopped here because it’s the only Vietnamese winery in the region and I was very impressed. Our pourer was well informed about the history of the winery as well as the owners. It is a fairly new winery and like the idea of the image of a grape cell as a design for the bottles and some of the pillows. The $ 15 «taste it» flight was very light and a bit of a nice change from all of the heavy reds that I’ve tasted. The inside was very modern and empty. They could use more décor and maybe a gift shop but I’m sure that will happen, they are a new winery and I expect to hear good things about them.

We arrived here early for my dad’s birthday celebration and was immediately greeted before we stepped through the beautiful manicured grounds. We sat at a large table outside and one of the host brought a tasting menu for us to review and explained the difference between the $ 15 and the $ 30 tasting. We ordered a few of each and started our journey into this storybook of winemaking. To be honest I’m not completely blown away with their wine however I’m amazed at how informative and patient our host was since we had a fairly big and loud group. We had a fantastic time enjoying the olive trees and the vineyards while experimenting with their library of red wines. Overall my favorite was the red table wine and the red label Cabernet. The wine was rather pricey for the quality but I was there mainly because my dad wanted to visit. With two bottles purchased in each price group you do receive a complimentary tasting.

Came here for the first time with my family. Rhonda and staff were very hospitable. The service was awesome, they were very knowledgable of all the assortment of wines available. We decided on a the red labeled bottle and enjoyed it in the seating area out front. The back patio had an incredible scenic view of the grapevines. Everything was so beautiful and green. My family and I had a very relaxing time here and will definitely come back next time we are in Napa.

The wines were ok(though I am no where near a wine connoisseur). This was the last stop on our Sonoma/Napa tour. It was great to relax in their comfy seating and they provided beautiful shaded areas to sit and talk. $ 15 for a tasting or $ 30 for reserve tasting. The back porch is such an amazing view, but I wasn’t a fan of the modern interior.

Exceptional winery. Staff was outgoing and knowledgable. The tasting room is simple elegance. The panoramic views are very special. I recommend having a glass of the KH Red sitting in a chair on the patio deck. The entire wine collection we tasted was exceptional. We will definitely be going back for more!

Simply put, I don’t plan to return and I don’t think it was worth my time or money. PROS: Beautiful tasting room. Beautiful back patio. Beautiful grounds. Wines didn’t give me a headache. Good crackers. CONS: Horrible wines. Expensive flights. Very odd wine bottles and experience. I found out about Kieu Hoang Winery after seeing their advertisements all over Norman Y. Mineta International Airport. As a Vietnamese-American, I thought it was amazing that a Vietnamese vintner is *attempting* to make wine for the Vietnamese and Chinese population. Heck, I thought I would give it a try. I was coming to the Napa Valley to taste at Artesa Winery(fabulous place) and passed by Kieu Hoang Winery. After my tour and tasting at Artesa Winery, I arrived to Kieu Hoang Winery with two of my friends. Please note that their tasting room is in the far back with a ‘wine bottle sculpture’ hanging above the entrance. The wine tasting room was absolutely beautiful. The people who did the interior design and landscape architecture had really good taste and knew how to showcase their beautiful bottles. However, what was odd was a giant picture of Kieu Hoang with a very strange quote below. It has a quote from Victor Hugo stating, «God made only water, but man made wine.» Following that quote states, «Kieu Hoang can do both» … quoted by Kieu Hoang — a bit self serving but okay. The person who greeted us was Rhonda who was amazing, sweet, and helpful throughout the process. Before I came over, other wineries told me the drama that happened with Kieu Hoang Winery including 90% of the staff was fired and the«party» they had there was outrageous(blocking roads, telling guests to take other vineyards’ roads, etc.). I guess Rhonda survived. Rhonda greeted us and I told her that I wanted to wine taste. However, I was a bit taken aback by the expensive flights and how to waive it. The first flight option is $ 15 for three tastings waived when you purchase 2 or more bottles($ 30 – 50 per bottle). The second flight option is $ 25 for five tastings waived when you purchase 2 or more bottles where at least one bottle is from the«high end» bottle($ 60+ per bottle). I was going to give it a try and we all had the $ 15 flight. Rhonda gave us a history of the winery, why there are«bubbles» everywhere due to Kieu Hoang is a chemist, and also about Kieu Hoang being a multi-billionarie. Kieu Hoang also has a makeup product line and is building in other industries too. Overall, Kieu Hoang is well made and wanted to make wine too. I learned a lot but the only thing I found a bit odd is that Rhonda told us that it’s okay if we wanted to pour our wine into the plants across the patio. Last I heard was that wine stunts the growth of plants. Anyway, I poured all of them over because it wasn’t really good. All in all, my friends and I don’t plan to return to the place. One thing I did afterwards was read up about«Kieu Hoang» — he’s an interesting character especially with children(not grandchildren) ranging from 50 years old to 1 year old. Hope this helps!

Beautiful grounds and tasting room, and definitely a unique experience from the standard Napa affair. Cezarina does a wonderful tasting and she went above and beyond to even mail me my phone after I forgot it at the vineyard!

The property is lovely and the wine is adequate, but these people are crooks. When my party walked in we were told by the pourer that tastings were $ 30, but that the tasting fee was waived«with a bottle purchase.» There were bottles starting at $ 30, so we agreed. We did the tasting, but when we were done our pourer told us the tasting fee would now only be waived with the purchase of a reserve bottle(starting at $ 65), PLUS a bottle from the cheap list(starting around $ 30). So our tasting that we were originally told would be waived with a $ 30 dollar bottle purchase quickly became waived with a minimum $ 95, two bottle purchase. We weren’t happy, and told him so. He went away for a minute and came back to tell us that his associate had heard him give us the wrong information. He apologized, but told us he was only prepared to offer us a waived tasting fee with the purchase of a $ 65 dollar bottle, and that was all he could do for us – even though it was his mistake. He had bait and switched on us, and we were shit out of luck, basically. After arguing we still ended up having to pay the $ 30 dollar fee. Fuck this place. Oh, and fuck all the bunk pseudoscience they push on you about how wine is super healthy because… grapes have a lot of cells? This is the dumbest tasting room, you guys. Skip it forever.

I had a wonderful time tasting wine with my boyfriend here. We ended up buying 6 bottles because we couldn’t decide. Quality wine in a beautiful setting. I’ll definitely be back on our next trip up north!

Beautiful setting, awesome staff which made you feel right at home. Kieu Hoang is a great little gem if you are looking for excellent wine with a level of service second to none. We went for the grand opening and had two flights which were both delicious, I highly recommend the Yellow Label Cabernet, was fantastic and the star of the show.
