Right next door to Nantucket Boat Basin.
Pros:
— Great wait staff (Fast, efficient and they know their menu)
— Amazing food (Salmon Tacos are amazing)
— Great drinks, Red Sangria was good but you can’t go wrong with Grey Hair Lady
— Doc your boat and grab a drink it’s right on the boat basin (can you say money… love it)
Cons:
— a little loud but people are happy so that’s good
— tough to get seats at prime time so show up early and post up for a few hours (3 pm and plan on staying for a few drinks and food)
— no parking if you have a car
Another Jen you have to try. Love this place.

First of all our waitress was very pleasant. I ordered the beet salad which was good despite the fact that it was nothing like I had expected it to be. It was sliced whole beets with only a little bit of greens. I was disappointed at first glance, but once I started eating it, I was quite happy. Order it with chicken if you need some substance to your salad. Great as a meal and not heavy.

Disappointing and over priced… Had the oysters and crab/​artichoke dip for apps. Very blah and bland in taste. I didn’t like the condiment that came wit the oysters. The classics are better. Our server took forever
to come over to give us water. My Bloody Mary was watery. A cup of their soup —
Good clam chowder — was a typical $ 3.50 cup, not worth $ 7. My napkin reeked like mildew and made my hands smell. There’s too many other places to try. Avoid this place.

Great spot for lunch! Stopped in after our ferry ride over and sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and quick. Our food came out hot, fresh and fast! The fish and chips were delish! The batter was just right, the fish was fresh and not over-​fried. The lobster roll hit the spot, it was lobster salad, but wasn’t drenched in mayo on a toasted butter roll. Everything was yummy! Good mixed drinks as well… try their lemon vodka mojito!

Forget about the location and the atmosphere and such for a minute.
Quite simply; the best food we had on the island.

Very casual and laid back. We had the fish and chips and artichoke and crab dip. Both were excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. Great for a quick casual bar lunch.

I didn’t have the highest of expectations going in, but wow, do I have the utmost respect for this place. My husband and I dropped in for lunch on a pretty quiet Tuesday afternoon (enjoying the quiet on Nantucket before the «season» begins) and were sat at a hi-​top across from the bar.
We quickly put in drink orders (Whale’s Tale for him, Shark Tracker for me — when in Rome…) and they were delivered immediately.
We ultimately decided to start with the short rib tostada … HIGHLY recommend. It’s perfect to share between two people (heck, I could have eaten it all myself). Very, very good.
My husband had the pulled pork sandwich served with house potato salad (huge red potato chunks, minimal use of may in the dressing; excellent really). I ordered the crab salad special with kumquats, shaved radish, heirloom tomatoes and watermelon dressing. I had pictured something entirely different than what was served. I had pictured a big salad with lettuce place the aforementioned toppings, but what came out was a beautiful plate of the veggies and chunks of crab meat. It enabled you to spear the perfect bite on the fork… the sharp sourness of the kumquats and bitterness of the radishes was the perfect balance with the sweetness of the crab, tomatoes and watermelon dressing. I could have eaten this every day of the week…
Absolutely awesome meal, beautiful presentation, quality ingredients… can’t say enough good about this place.

Having dined here for lunch several times, we came for our first dinner here with friends visiting us on the island. It met or exceeded all expectations. Staff was excellent and the food delicious. Service was prompt but but not rushed. Scallops were exceptional.

One word «Chowder» (also acceptable «Chowda»). This is the one item you need to purchase (bowl — I am telling you). Year after year, it’s not only the best on island, it’s one of the best around. Their other food (at least for lunch) is alright — nothing special or even worth highlighting, but the chowder sure as hell is.

Great place to get drinks in Nantucket. The bartenders are super friendly. I’ve only ever had shared appetizers here, but they’ve always been excellent. Go to Slip 14.

Better then ever… The service was perfect and the food was amazing a must try is the calamari, so good!

Slip 14 has slipped since my last visit in 2011. Our Bloody Mary’s were bland and boring, even after we added more pepper sauce and horseradish. My fish tacos were unmemorable. My bf liked his fish and chips. Portions were small. Crowded and busy as expected. Our waitress was great as was the hostess.

We looked this place up online and couldn’t wait to try it for lunch. The atmosphere and service were great, but I think our expectations were a little too high for the food. After a long morning of traveling, I needed a bloody mary to unwind. The menu said, «spicy». It wasn’t spicy, or very good. The fish tacos were ok, but not great. Overall, it was an average lunch, with higher than average prices.

Slip 14 was a great lunch spot for my boyfriend and I when visiting Nantucket this past weekend. I had the fish tacos which were delicious, and served with a chickpea and cucumber salad. Everything was fresh and seasoned well. My boyfriend had the fish and chips which were to-​die-​for. The fish was so light and crispy and the fries were top notch. Our server was attentive without being obtrusive. Prices were as expected. I would definitely recommend Slip 14 for a fun outdoor lunch spot!

My wife and I had dinner here while visiting Nantucket and were not sure what to expect. We managed to walk in a find a table in the bar area without a wait. That in and of itself was a great start. i ordered the hanger steak and frites, and couldn’t have been happier. One of the best tasting hanger steaks I’ve had in a while. We also ordered some fingerlings to share that were also tasty. Our server was solid throughout the night and compared to many places on the island we thought the prices were very fair.

Food, drinks, and service were great! Try to sit outside as the indoor area isn’t anything special. They had a private party when we went, so we had to sit indoors next to the bathroom :(
The mojitos were so yummy! Chowder was very good and flavorful — I think I tasted bacon, so be sure to ask if you are a vegetarian. Portions were generous for the cost. I had chowder and the watermelon salad, my boyfriend had the lobster mac, and my friends had the pork chop and scallops. Everyone enjoyed their dinner! Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Great place on the waterfront :)

My brother and I went to Slip 14 on a recent visit to Nantucket. We had been biking all day and wanted a place that was relaxed, but good food. Slip 14 was a perfect fit. Upon entering on a busy night we got a high top table right away. They were very busy and the service was a bit slow, however she was nice and attentive to everything we were looking for. They had a nice cocktail section, but there beer list does need some work. Having a nice selection of beers would have made this a 5 star review.
For dinner, we started with the calamari which was served with jalapenos and I think a buffalo sauce. They were very good. The shrimp Oaxaca was good as another app however, I would say the portion was small for the price.
We each had a salad mine, Caesar was dressed perfect and was delicious. My brothers Mescalin green salad was overdressed a bit.
For entrees my brother had the Tuna, a beautiful choice well presented and very good. I had the hanger steak and Frites also cooked perfect and served with a delicious poblano butter sauce.
We were very happy with our dinners. I would go back and also recommend this place to my friends who visit often.

consistently solid, I hadn’t been there since 2009 and the food and cocktails rocked… great location and great service… my recommendations start with a bottle of rose and order everything on the menu… a few standouts-​we had the shrimp cocktail they were huge, clams were fantastic and that broth, definitely order more bread for soaking up that deliciousness… tuna app was pretty solid, that tomato and watermelon solid was the star and my mouth is watering as I’m typing the review.

Visited here for after dinner drinks and sat at the bar. FANTASTIC bar service and slurped down the tastiest drinks we had all week. Bar tender picked the drinks for us and they were fruity and delicious. Great, fun atmosphere of a polished crowd who want a chill place to hang.

Heading over with my in-​laws and four little girls 12 — 5. Stated with a Mojito as to calm my nervous as a combo of in-​laws and low blood sugar could ruin any dinner. Drinks were super. Kids had clam chowder, calamari (a little intimidating for the young ones at first, but they enjoyed it), I cut up the chicken dish for them, came with yummy Kale and lentils that my wife and I enjoyed. I had scallop which were smaller (which I like better than the big ones) and full of yumness! My wife has the tuna (there are two on the munu, the one in the upper right hand corner on the menu), and she loved it.
