Texas Sports Bar & Grill

Been to this sports bar three times recently. Always early around happy hour. Nice bar with good TVs and open space. Friendly bartenders and cheap beer. Nachos were OK to above average for a sports bar but they need to implement an EXPEDITING SYSTEM to get the food to the bar while it’s still hot! Bad location.

Typical sportsbar atmosphere. The bartender was nice enough and very pretty. I first ordered a ZiegenBock draft and it was flat and almost room temperature. When I told the bartender the situation and asked for a bottled beer instead, she obliged but still charged me for both of them. I had only taken a couple drinks from the draft. not sure that I would come back. Maybe I just came on a bad night.

Came here for a quick bite to eat on the way to Houston. Ordered a salad and wings that took 30 mins to come out. The bartender was not welcoming and the whole plae had the good olé boy southern heir to it. How is this place still in business?

Not worth a $ 5 cover charge for just a dj. We waited by the bar for about 10 minutes and were never waited on so we went to a table and waited another 15 minutes. By then we were frustrated and asked at the door for a refund of the cover charge so we could leave. The manager came and said he would take care of us. He did send a nice waitress who took our order. The chips and salsa were horrible, but the burger was good, which is why I am giving them 2 stars.

So where to start…
I first walked into this bar/​grill and the atmosphere was just like I expected. There was a huge bar in the middle with tables, TVs surrounding it. I arrived with a couple of friends and we were meeting up with a much larger group. One of the ppl from our group called ahead multiple times (2 weeks before and leading up to the day of, so they would be prepared) to let them know that we would have a large group coming and we would be ordering drinks and food.
I have no problem waiting longer than usual for our food because we had such a large group (around 15 ppl) however we waited for 55 mins. for our food. I asked the waitress 30 minutes into it and she said she was sorry and the manager said they would give us a discount on the food and the food would be right out.
25 mins. later… we finally received our lackluster, cold food, but by that time I was so frustrated and hungry I ate half of it and dealt with it. I didn’t want to waste another hour on them correcting it. I ordered a burger and fries btw…
30 mins. later… we asked for our tickets. She had to give out about 15 different food tickets. This is not an easy task, I know, because I used to be a waitress, however it is do-​able. So she brought back our tickets with no discount. It’s not like I needed the discount to pay for my meal, however it’s the principle. If you f up then you need to make it right. She then told me «my manager didn’t tell me that» so I said, «well could you please go ask your manager how much of a discount we are supposed to get and apply if to our tickets?» She said yes and she would be right back with our corrected amounts.
10 mins. later… my friend went to go look for her so we could get out of there and go meet up with other ppl at another place and our waitress was now behind the bar making drinks for ppl. My friend then asked her if she could give us our tickets and the waitress said, «oh I forgot… I’ll be right there»
5 mins. later… the tickets are here!!! Wait? Still no discount? WTF? It’s like I had been speaking to a brick wall the entire time! This girl should never be a waitress. Any restaurant I worked out in the past would have fired her on the spot. We did get an apology from some guy. I don’t know who he was, because he never said who he was but I’m guessing he worked there. Maybe it was the douchey Ed Hardy t-​shirt and ripped jeans he had on.
