My favorite place! I really love Taco Bueno and the one in Nac does a great job at keeping the place clean and the food fresh. I am a consistent customer and have never had anything I didn’t like.

Typical fast-food Tex-Mex restaurant. Taco Bueno is probably a notch above Taco Bell and a notch below Taco Casa and Taco Cabana — when it comes to fast-food Taco places. The meat is generally not greasy, although sometimes it has a slight sweet flavor to it. Sometimes the texture makes me wonder if it doesn’t have texturized soy protein mixed in. Quality is inconsistent from restaurant to restaurant, although this location in Nacogdoches location tends to be better and cleaner. The FBT(freakin big taco) is good value for the price — its a large taco filled with meat, lettuce, cheese, tomato and sour cream. The burritos tend to be a bit on the bready side. I love the black beans though.

I am shocked how much I like this place. It is just a fast food taco place but it occupies a sweet spot just above Taco Bell and just under Taco Cabana. The food is generally the same price range as Taco Bell and a bit better quality. You may run into specials or small value coupons lowering the price. Bonus is a limited salsa bar and various types of the excellent Cholula hot sauce. This location has fast, very friendly, service and is clean and usually quiet if you need to study or work. If this served margaritas and beer and fancy coffee it would be perfect. Highly recommended for fast casual Mexican food. Try the chicken quesadillas.

Okay food, and fresher food than taco bell, but oddly i find myself gping to Taco Bell more often. Taco Bell just tastes better(probably because Taco Bueno food is better for you.) Everything on the salsa bar is very fresh and tasty. The restaurant is always clean. I’m always surprised at how much it costs. Technically, it’s a one-dollar-sign rating, and you think it’s going to be cheap, then it ends up costing around $ 15 for two people and we wish we had gone to a better restaurant.

This place reminds me of Taco Bell, but maybe improved slightly. The prices are cheap, and the food seems just a little better. They have a small bar with homemade chunky salsa, chopped onions, jalapenos, and lime wedges. The salsa is too mild for my taste, but is a nice change from the packets of sauce found elsewhere. The ground beef they use isn’t ground as fine as Taco Bell. They brag they make their refried beans from scratch, but I wasn’t too impressed. The rice has more seasoning on it than most places. The lettuce and tomatoes all seemed fresh. If you are looking for inexpensive pseudo-TexMex, you might want to give this place a try.
