Hastings

While hasting’s in general is not the end all be all of «entertainment» stores it’s definitely the best Nac has. What I can say about our specific store is that I can’t really remember ever having a truly bad experience there. The staff is generally decently knowledgable at least and have always been pretty friendly when I do go. I even went on a black Friday once and it wasn’t bad at all! I do wish Nac did have more to offer as far as stores of this nature but let’s all be thankful we at the least have a Hasting’s!

Hastings is okay at a lot of things. The less competition there is in Nac, the better it tends to seem.
It’s the best bookstore in Nac because it’s essentially the only bookstore in Nac. The prices will always be higher than Amazon’s, though.
As a movie rental store, it’s slightly better than Blockbuster because it has a wider selection. Then again, I’ve had to go to blockbuster several times because Hastings was out of the movie I wanted.
If you’re into buying mainstream music on physical media, then it’s probably an okay music store. I can’t really help you there, though.
The coffee shop is nothing spectacular. If you just wanted coffee, you’d be at Java Jacks.
Overall, Hastings is a satisfactory store with better than average hours and prices that in no way compete with the internet. Their business almost certainly relies up products that people want right now (new movie and book releases, spur of the moment movie rental choices, etc). Still, it’s a great place to run into people you went to high school with.

I don’t know why everyone is raving about this store. Maybe they have good music or video deals, I don’t know. I can say though that as a bookstore, they are terrible.
More often than not they don’t have the basic books I’m looking for, and when they do they are always much more expensive than amazon, borders, or barnes and noble.
I’m disappointed everytime I go in there. I don’t know why I keep going, I guess I’m just a sucker.
