When I go visit my mom and sister in Naccogdoches, this is a must stop for me. The service is great, the house spicy BBQ sauce is amazing, and the ribs are outstanding. I never get anything from the grill but my mom does and she loves it. We don’t have many good BBQ places in Louisiana, and this is one of the better BBQ places I’ve ever eaten at. Highly recommended.

Great caring and great BBQ. The prices are reasonable and everything is YUMMY! Homemade desserts. If you can get that far. It’s a lot of food!!!

Do not order the crazy fries(or ask for really shredded cheese), or the chopped steak for 8.99…(is hamburg, and was dry) my steak today was under cooked, but it was still really, really good. Cole slaw was dry,(loaded) baked potato was barely loaded. The sheet they put under my steak got really moist, and started to get in my steak.(They don’t use plates) Customer service was great, I will come back again because I like it that much… I hope to update my review with better stars. I was really hoping to treat my wife with this place and it was disappointing. Two stars for customer service, and my steak that was really good, I shared with my wife because her food was no good. I even left a 5 $ tip:(

This is an interesting place and I will be back. At lunch the place was full of work crews and many of them were ordering the rib I did too. Glad I did. It was perfectly medium rare, fire grilled, and perfectly seasoned. This is not a prime steakhouse, its a bbq joint, but the steak was very flavorful and tender. The fries that came with it were hand cut and also well seasoned. Loved them. The salad was institutional but then I don’t think they sell many of them here. Everything served on wax paper on a tray so its not fancy at all but I will be back.

Meh… decent road side BBQ. My sausage sandwich was ok but it’s deff the worse coleslaw I have ever had. My girlfriend however enjoyed her sliced brisket sandwich and potato salad. Hence the 2 stars.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch on a Friday and ordered a Triple Play plate. We got brisket, spicy sausage and ribs. I was craving some marbled brisket and we asked for it, but we got super lean, and dry. That is the only reason we didn’t give it a better score. Everything had good flavor, spiced right, but the meat was so dry. Hubby said the brisket was like eating jerky, it was that dry. Looking back, we realize all the locals ordered off the regular menu with hamburgers, catfish and steak. I guess they knew more than we did. Needless to say, the dry meat made our meal a disappointing 3. Priced reasonable for our Triple Play plate(3 meats and 2 sides) and tea– around $ 15. I wouldn’t mind going back though and trying their regular menu items, just don’t get the BBQ, unless you like it dry.

A locals perspective: The burgers here are excellent! If you’re passing buy and burgers will do, this is your spot! Their BBQ is wonderful if it’s fresh, being a small town, it’s hard to know what your demand for the day is so it can be hit or miss. They have tater tots if you aren’t a fries fan. Things are made to order. The food comes out really hot! Definitely worth a stop if you’re driving through.

I dropped by from out of town on the recommendation from some locals. I was NOT disappointed! Had the cowboy steak and I think they were called loaded fries. I loved the delivery the atmosphere and the service. As soon as I’m back in town I’ll be back.

We were on the way from Port A to MI. so stopped on the road. super convenient right next to hwy with lots of parking. This is really two places in one: the«classic» BBQ cafeteria type place and a «grill» for burgers and sandwiches. We went to the BBQ side for lunch. My wife had the hot link and I had the chopped beef. Hot link was good — sauce was hot. Her side was the mashed potatoes — they had jalapenos in them(she didn’t know that/not told) and it was apparent they had been sitting for a while and they were REALLY hot. I had the potato salad with my chopped — it was ok, not great. the chopped was really more shredded and little over salted but the smoke was really nice, again over hot: i like hot but more habenaro than jalapeño. The wait staff was wonderful and the place was really clean, fast and good price.

I came here because of great Unilocal reviews, plus a friend recommended it. The ordering is a bit odd for a sit down restaurant. There are 2 different counters to order your food, pay at, then sit down and wait for your name to be called. Most people were ordering from the grill line where you can order sandwiches, burgers and their famous steaks. I wanted to try as much as I could to experience this restaurant first hand. The left line served bbq only. I ordered a 10 oz ribeye, with fried okra. Also stepped into the bbq line to get a sausage link and ½ lb of brisket. Sausage is available in regular or jalapeño. After asking for sliced brisket from the fatty end, the employee just looked at me and said all brisket were the same. Even though the bbq was supposedly pit smoked, the brisket appeared to be all trimmed. When the food came out, the brisket was marbled and tender, but dry, not juicy by any means. The sausage was much better tasting, but the temperature of the bbq was the main problem here… nearly room temperature. Fried okra was just ok, hard to mess up fried okra anyway. The ribeye was cooked as requested, came out nice and hot, but it was just seasoned with a bit too much salt. It was the best food on the table though. Probably won’t be back anytime soon.

The sides of fried okra and green beans were good. The brisket I was served at lunch was tough and flavorless. I was unable to add enough pickles or sauce to make it edible. I posted a picture to prove my point.

Oh my lawdie! This place is cool beans! Seriously the best grilled chicken taco salad I’ve had! Added grilled onions! My hubby had a plate lunch with pork ribs and he kept in bragging on them! And had pecan cobbler, even though he shouldn’t have, but almost licked the bowl it was so good!!! Definitely a place we’ll visit if passing thru this area again!!!

We ate a fried chicken sandwich on Texas toast with potato salad and a chicken fried steak with tots. The potato salad was delicious-just like homemade southern potato salad with some mustard in the mix. The chicken fried steak was huge and the gravy delicious. The tots were also very crunchy. Can’t wait to try other things!

It’s been awhile since I ate there but this review is a long time coming. Got«The Cowboy» when I went. It’s a 14 oz. steak that comes with fries and a drink. I think my only complaint would be the temperature. They kept it pretty cold in there. It might have been the weather outside so you may end up eating in your coat to stay comfortable. If you like BBQ, I think this is a place is worth a try.

Ribs great flavor. Really enjoyed mixed squash and carrots medley and southern style green beans. The sausage was good but a bit spicy. Spicy and honey BBQ sauces available. Enjoyed it! Seating area is plain but well lit with tv to watch.
