This is the absolute best lunch spot in Muskegon. Made from scratch. Local. Farm-to-table. Are you drooling already because YOUSHOULDBE. Its a very slow service experience so be sure to give yourself time & be patient. It is so worth it! Go there now and give them your money. A true big city-like gem in a small city. We are truly lucky to have Jamie & Jeremy’s meticulous, talented hands ensuring everything served to your table is extraordinary. The care and attention they give to food quality is unmatched. Their love for the craft shows in each dish. They not only handmake sodas, but they handmake CONDIMENTS. what. Awesome. Best. Ever. Go. Yesterday.

Finally a restaurant worth their rating and even better than that. This was the best meal we have had in a long long time. I was a little worried when we pulled up because the area that this is in is not well kept but the restaurant is gorgeous. There was a little confusion when we walked in because we didn’t know if it was seat your self or not. How it works is there is a menu on the back wall. You go look at that, pick what you want and then sit down and someone comes and gets your order. The service was fantastic. I unfortunately did not catch the gentleman’s name that waited on us but he was super friendly and just plain awesome. The restaurant is farm to table and from scratch so it is by no means a fast meal. Don’t come expecting in and out. This place is a place to be enjoyed at a slower(but not too slow) pace. We had appetizers, lunch, and dessert in 45 minutes. We started off with the deviled eggs and cheese plate. Deviled eggs were good and creamy. The cheese plate was well portioned. So much better than I have had anywhere else, even from artisan cheese shops. Great parings. Just fantastic. Our 11 month old loved it, too. My husband had the Farm Egg BLT. It was delicious. House made bread just takes it over the top. The egg yolks were perfectly oozy. I had the BBQ Pulled Pork. It was the right amount of tangy and spicy. The house made pickles were sooo yummy. Both of us had a side of potatoe salad which is probably one of the top potato salads I’ve ever had. For dessert we ordered the sour cream donuts. These remind me of the donuts that my mom made. They are cake donuts rather than an airy yeast donuts. Served hot with powdered sugar and chocolate dip. Soooo good. We also got a oatmeal cookie to go which was big and yummy. Wish there were more restaurants like this where things are farm to table and scratch made. Worth the trip if you are from out of town. Just watch the hours and days. They are only open til 5pm and closed Sunday and Monday. Support the locals and try this one!

This place is amazing! Tried it for the first time on Tuesday and loved it! The staff was super friendly and helpful with the menu. My friends and I started with the cheese plate which was awesome, I especially liked the goat cheese and candied walnuts. I had the duck ham and jam sandwich and I can honestly say it was the best sandwich I’ve had from any Muskegon restaurant! The only thing about this restaurant that isn’t optimal is the location, but other than that everything is superb.

Exquisite food for a somewhat«pricy» menu. But you are paying for everything organic, everything actually REAL! Best restaurant I’ve ever been too.

Had lunch there over the Holidays. What a great place! I love that there’s someone that and cares enough to buck the trend around here. Not sure I’d do dinner here given the location, but if there’s plans to move to a better area I’d follow them anywhere!

Excellent and unexpected. Food is cooked to order and they warned us that would mean«slow» but it didn’t seem that way at all. Food arrived promptly and everything was extremely flavorful. Definitely will go back when I am in Muskegon.

Ib miss this place. Don’t make it often since we live on the other side of the state. Great home made local food. The duck pbj is awesome and so is the pork belly. We have been here with the kids and they made a grilled cheese for us. Heck I would have eaten it. They made it to order and at a great price. IMO you can’t beat it in Muskegon

Farm to table… and to my belly! What a work of art this place is! They recommend that you start with an appetizer because of the wait time for the entrees and sandwiches. The blue cheese stuffed dates and chorizo and petite basque were tantalizing. It does take a while for the food to come out, so definitely order starters if you are really hungry. I was recommended and tested out the duck PB&J(duck confit, cashew butter, pepper jelly). It was delectable. This sammie is a must-have. The BBLT(maple-glazed pork belly, house-cured bacon, lettuce, tomato, maple aioli) that my brother ordered was extremely outrageous in size, but this place has a New Orleans twist, so it was not that surprising. It was somewhat inedible in that form, but it was tasty and great quality of meat nonetheless. The other sandwiches at the table were also yummy. The food here is stellar. My only complaint is the service. The wait staff seemed to all hate each other, and they were not attentive at all. One sat with her face buried in an iPad while I tried to ask questions about the menu, and other one stood by with a glazed-over look. There were five of us at the table and we definitely watched the girl who appeared to be the manager roll her eyes at our waitress and then whisper to another nearby waitress as they then emitted a Cyclops-style optic blast in her direction. None of the other mutants were very friendly either. I see that other Unilocalers shared the same sentiment, so hopefully the owners can whip them into shape. Regardless, this place is original and the food trumps the uninviting employees. I raved about it to everyone I knew in the Midwest.

This place is GREAT!!! Perhaps the best meal of our entire lives? Every element amaZING! Just the right serene blue interior, complimented by a super competent waiter Josh– and then he let me choose the music & i asked for Michael Franti & within seconds i was dancing in my seat. Even the vegetarian teenager was smiling The whole experience was slightly orgasmic Sooooooooo good, thank you!

This is A great little lunch spot. We wanted something close to route 31 that we could use as a lunch stop between our travel from Sleeping Bear dunes and Chicago. This was a little far From the high way and our sever kept emphasizing SLOW food, so we were thinking this was a big mistake, but the food was delicious. The stuffed dates were unbelievably good. We also liked the home made sodas.

Thanks to Unilocal,we found this place while visiting Muskegon. OMG — this place is fabulous. Everything we tried was fantastic. My wife started with the Beet soup and I the Creole Onion soup. We moved on to the Chorizo and Petite Basque starter. For entrees I had the Flat Iron Steak, she had the Pork Belly Hash. It was such a welcome find. They take great care in the preparation and presentation of the food. The price was right. I can’t say enough about this place.

Well this is a little gem. I was curious because of their odd hours(11 – 5) but when Jenna at Amore Trattoria said they were her friends, that’s all I needed. This is truly a different kind of resturant with a menu not seen in most places. They skillfully introduce you to things maybe you never thought about eating… but once there, you will be glad you did and they did. How about pig ear sliced paper thin and fried then dressed with a cilantro lime sweet dressing. Ahhhh to die for. Well, maybe not die, but REALLY good. Did you say«Beef Cheek»??? Thought so. Covered. Delicious. Served with chorizo and gnocchi and flash fried parsley… WHAT??? Yes! And my friend it is deliciouso!!! An hour drive for me from Kentwood to Muskegon, but I will walk if I have to. I know all the stuff about«locally sourced» and«Farm-to-table» and I get it, really. They do all that, but for me it’s about the taste, the originality… all of which is spectacular. If you want to stretch your tastebuds and smile while you’re dong it… go…right now…(Oh, wait they are probably closed… go tomorrow unless its Sunday or Monday) Good jobs kids. I’ll be back. Jenna was right again.

Great food for what seemed to be not a great area. The cheese platter was fantastic, the burgers perfectly cooked with great bread and the pimento cheese sandwich was awesome. Don’t miss the homemade cream soda if you’re into that kind of thing. Wish we could’ve ordered the whole menu! Only negative was the slow service — not that the food took too long to cook, but when we entered we weren’t greeted and had no idea if we needed to seat ourselves or what. Then took a while for someone to come to our table after we had decided our order at the back of the restaurant.

I wanted to take my parents here because I heard good things about it. They were not as amused as I was. They found the service to be slow, the food to be a little«odd» and the atmosphere to be quirky. I however, liked it a lot. Maybe I’m still working out my contrary teenager stage… who knows. My father had the beef tongue schnitzel. It was crispy, well seasoned and delicious. I would definitely order it if it was still on their seasonal, ever-changing menu. I had the BBQ brisket sandwich and it was also very tasty and generously plated. The sauce was sweet, with a little bit of spice. My mother ordered a chicken salad sandwich, which was good, but a little less creative than the other entrees. I also had a cream soda with my meal. It was nearly impossible for me not to order another one. It was fizzy, sweet and smooth; actually made with real cream. Mmmm. My only complaint was the asparagus salad. Asparagus is delicious. It is complimented by salty things like prosciutto, sour things like a balsamic vinaigrette but definitely not by the oddly bitter Asian-inspired sesame dressing they tossed it in. I was kind of sad to see asparagus go to waste because I love asparagus, but the dressing was just messing with the fresh green flavor of the vegetable. We ended with some goose egg and bacon ide cream. The bacon was a pass for me. The goose egg ice cream, however, was a delicious vanilla custard ice cream that was very rich and fresh. I will definitely be back to continue enjoying their local, creative offerings. Give it a try.

We were going to the Curry Kitchen but they were closed. A gentleman saw us looking in the window of this place and came over and told us this was the best restaurant in Muskegon. We gave it a shot and loved it. Extremely helpful and attentive wait staff. They did an awesome job. The Duck PB& J was recommended by another patron and it was awesome. Who would have thought? Well they nailed it. We also had the boudin sausage as a starter and it was as good as I have found in New Orleans. A must try is the Blue Cheese Stuffed Dates, amazing. We will certainly return. Give them a shot.

Such a fan of their food! I was so, so looking forward to the duck skin sandwich, but they were out, so the waiter gave me an excellent suggestion. Things we tried: –bone marrow: such GENEROUS portions, and so delicious! Seriously, I’m not gonna tell you what it costs but take the price you normally think it is… and divide it by 2! THAT’S INSANE! And the salad was good. I friggin hate vegetables, but the balsamic dressing was so good. –creole onion soup: it’s like french onion soup. but BETTER bc there’s no cheese crust! –duck pb&j: I had a bite and enjoyed it, but i really was enamored by the… –potato salad: why is this given in such a tiny portion!!! I’m coming back and ordering doubles of this. omg I die, it was so good. –bblt: pork belly, bacon, lettuce. and no t bc I don’t like tomatoes. The sandwich is huge, like honestly it could’ve fed the bf and me even before we decided to have appetizers –chips: light and airy! –lavender vanilla cream soda: bf liked this, but I personally thought it tasted like licking a candle. Im biased though bc I don’t like cream sodas. I also thought the lemon thyme soda sounded delicious! –orangina: I fell in love with it in Paris and now order it every time I see it, so I of course had to order this here! Will I be back?! DEFINITELY! So glad to have found such a gem in Muskegon. Ps: for pix, check out what Andrew N. posted… trying to steal my Unilocal thunder :/!!

AMAZING place!!! Had some roasted chicken soup that had great flavor. For my main course I home made Gnocchi with Ox tail. It was AMAZING!!! Huge portion and wonderful flavor. It came with some kind of amazing carmelized onions and mushrooms. Sauce was similar to a beef Goulash, just fantastic. I would GLADLY go back. The place is really neat too. Local artwork on the wall and great atmosphere.

Amazing! Nice, clean, and simple décor. Followed by a friendly greeting and a great explanation of how to order. Service was great! Friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Food absolutely fantastic! Fresh, made to order. They make everything from scratch. From bread to sausage to the condiments. I will definitely be back in town for this place. Keep it up. You get what you pay for. Awesome quality and reasonably priced.
