Carol’s Bridal Tuxedo & Formal Wear

I was recommended to Carol’s by a family member and a few friends. Next year I will be a bridesmaid in a wedding on the other side of the state. Of course I can’t drive over to the Detroit suburbs to have my measurements taken, so Carol’s was the closest Bridal shop to my home. I had been told that Carol was the sweetest, customer oriented bridal business owner around and I was sure that it wouldn’t be a problem to have a 30-​second measurement. Unfortunately the employee I encountered could NOT have been Carol. Before I could finish my sentence, «Hello, I’m in a wedding and was hoping you all could take my measurements for me?» I was cut off at «take my»! This employee didn’t speak/​greet me at all, I greeted her. After she rudely interrupted, she looked at my body up and down then said verbatim, «You can do the measurements yourself though with some tape; you look like about a 4 or 6. Besides, there are liability issues with us measuring you.»
I replied that I am not either of those sizes and had a questionable look on my face regarding the «liability» and responded, «Liability?»
The associate never moved from the spot she was standing in from the time I walked in to the time I left. My question about liability wasn’t answered (and I would’ve been more than happy to sign a waiver). The sad part about it is that I will more than likely need more than measurements for this wedding. Common sense combined with the fact that Carol’s has been in business for awhile would’ve brought me there. Not so much after that day. Carol please teach this employee the value of great customer service. I left the store, drove up the road to Jeanette’s and was measured in less than 30 seconds. I left them a tip and then posted a glowing review on my Facebook page.
Thank you. I’d be more than happy Carol to point out that employee if need be.
