If I could give them zero stars I would. I am on the board of my HOA here in Temecula. I got on the board because I could see one poor decision after another being made and lots of things not getting taken care of in our community. The management company blamed everything on the previous board and the developer controlling the board but I quickly saw after being on our board that the problem as all FirstService and very little to do with the board. The board hires the management company to do a job. All FirstService will do is spend your money. Their preferred vendors cost us a fortune. They solicit«vendor treats» on their web site and require all their vendors to pay them $ 99 a year for a background check service that they own. Of course when a company is doing this it will cost YOU the homeowner more money. I can’t tell you how poorly they ran our finances. They only provide you financials every two months and often by then it’s too late to fix a problem. In addition it takes forever to get answers. I asked for copies of all our contracts with our vendors. It took them MONTHS to provide this. They will nickle and dime your HOA. You will pay thousands a month for your base management fee and then pay another thousand for scanning, copies, envelopes, postage and office supplies. One time they charged us $ 1500 for color copies! We never asked them to print anything on color. $ 1 per page!!! They charge 15 cents a page to scan all your documents into their system so they can pay your bills! Isn’t that what the management fee is supposed to be for?! The icing on the cake for us was when we found out that the cookies they provided at an HOA meeting that we never asked them to bring were charged to our association… $ 10. It’s only $ 10 but it goes a long way in showing the integrity of this company. Avoid them at all costs! We fired them.
