We LOVE Japanese food. Hibachi, sushi, or bento boxes. We were pleased to find that this place delivered in our area. A welcome break from Chinese or pizza. We found it to be ok, but not as good as your traditional dine in places like Kyoto. The steak was fair, but arrived cold. The shrimp had an ok flavor, but we’re few and small. I liked the rice ok, the wife hated it. She found it to be greasy. The portions are good, not like Chinese where you eat it for two days, but just enough. The Philly roll was excellent by either of our standards. So, in conclusion, it not a bad place, but not special. But sometimes, you just want something different, and they do offer that.

So, what’s a nauseous, hungry, pregnant woman who doesn’t feel like leaving the house do when sushi sounds good all of a sudden? Call Shinrai! This was my family’s first experience with this restaurant, and everything was lovely. From the pleasant phone call to the speedy delivery(side note: I’ve NEVER heard of sushi being delivered… YES!!!), Shinrai definitely made a positive mark. We ordered 3 rolls, gyoza, and veggie spring rolls, and they did the job. This is not some crazy, high end, expensive sushi bar. It’s a great family option… with convenient delivery. So yes, we’ll be back!

They deliver yall!!! My kids love the fried rice & chicken. I’m not crazy about the rolls but my husband loves the spicy cowboy! I usually get teriyaki chicken. For the price point, it’s good. I appreciate the variety as well. And did I mention that THEYDELIVER!!!

My fiancée and I decided to try sushi for the very first time tonight. We spent quite a bit on Unilocal looking around for a place to try and landed at this place for a good takeout restaurant. Everything was absolutely delicious. Our order consisted of the avocado roll, Mavericks roll, and tempura shrimp roll. Super happy because they subbed the nori for soy paper and it was everything I wanted. I literally believe I could eat that avocado roll every single day for lunch. It has a wonderful citrus touch to it that tops off the flavor a perfectly. I would definitely recommend any of these for people who want to try sushi for the first time without trying fresh fish! It can be overwhelming, but I’m so glad we found some good ones!

Had another great meal here today. The food was outstanding and priced right. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a place to eat in Murphy. On a side note… The Shinrai homemade sauce is excellent. Bought a jar for home :)

This really is a hidden jem. Nice menu with a good selection of rolls as well as other quick food offerings. The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I finally found a quality Japanese restaurant. The bento boxes are great and my kids really enjoyed them. The rolls are fresh with clean flavor. I highly recommend trying this place out. And to top it off the are very reasonably priced.

Great local Japanese restaurant. We dined in, but they must have processed 10 take-out orders while we were in the restaurant, so while the parking lot may not look full, they are deceptively busy. The food was pretty tasty and service was prompt. They have an open kitchen(like PeiWei), so it’s fun to watch all the preparation. Recommend it as a great place to eat during the week — lunch or after work — not necessarily a special destination or appropriate for a date night with your spouse.

This place barely serves what you could call«Hibachi food.» Yes, it’s cheap, but at what cost? The Bad: * Meat is dry and full of gristle. * None of the sauces you usually get with traditional Hibachi-style food. * Fried rice is small and not very sticky so good luck eating any with chopsticks. * Sushi seemed basic and possibly grocery store bought; I can’t say for sure — didn’t see a sushi chef rolling it. The«meh»(complaints based more on personal tastes rather than actually being detriment to the quality of the food or service): * Really crappy atmosphere. Decorated with merely a couple of basic Japanese items. Pretty much a strip-mall /food court level of effort applied to the look and feel of the place. * Everything served on cheap plastic throwaway dishes and with throwaway utensils. * self serve drink machine — no waiter service other than handing your food to you initially. The VERY bad: * Sloppy cook = eggshell piece found in fried rice. The good(and what keeps this establishment from getting a 1-star from me): * VERY cheap In my own personal opinion, the price does not make up for the other issues. I could have paid only about $ 20 more for my total ticket price for both my wife and I at Nosoo in Allen about 40 minutes away, and would have gotten REAL Hibachi style food served to us in a quick«no-show» style(no chef serving directly) that tasted infinitely better in a much nicer setting and with waiter service. Only go here if absolute cheapest price Hibachi is what you are looking for. If you have anything above even the most basic taste in quality, however, go somewhere else, like Nosoo. It’s a bit of a drive, but what in Dallas isn’t, right?

Was craving some sushi so I looked up sushi places nearby on . I found this place which has great reviews and I decided to give this place a shot. When I walked in I was greeted by the cashier. I ordered the Plano Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll and the Cowboy roll. Within 5 to 10 minutes my order was delivered. It was plated well and fresh. This portion was good and I was happy with my order. The rolls were fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend this place for a quick sushi fix. No ambiance just your simple walk in hole in the wall with delicious food. I’ll definitely be back!

Shinrai, you are humbly tucked away in a strip mall in Murphy, TX pretending to be average. You belong on any street downtown. Your fried rice rivals that of Chicago and NYC. Everything I have eaten in your bistro has been fantastic. Thank you thank you thank you for being in Murphy even though you could be downtown. Your staff is friendly, your restaurant is clean and there are no overwhelming crowds and your prices are great. It’s just a peaceful place to eat(until the word gets out about how good you really are). Shinrai, you rock.

If you’re looking for quick but still delicious sushi and hibachi, this place is for you! My favorite sushi here would definitely have to be the Shinrai roll and the steak hibachi with fried rice and veggies is so good too! The sushi here is actually super fresh and I’ve never had a bad experience with any of my rolls. If you’re big on sushi, you’d know that if your sushi comes out and has a fishy smell to it, it’s probably not a good idea to eat it but again, I’ve never had that problem with Shinrai. The only thing i wish this place would carry is the ginger sauce and white seafood sauce hibachi places have so I could use that with my hibachi plate! Definitely worth the try!

So glad that I was stuck in the Sachse area to experience Shinrai. Put me in my boyfriend’s empty house for a couple of hours until I’m starving and I’ll walk over to Shinrai. It’s just so good and affordable and CLOSE to where he lives! The Volcano Rolls are just a must have. You have a choice between shrimp or crawfish but I always always choose crawfish. The sauce is to die for. The cajun roll is also good as well! Is it bad that I just still don’t trust the raw fish sushi that they have? I have yet to try it… but only because I’m worried about it. Other than that– the staff is so friendly and because its quick, BYOB, and yummy it makes… 5 stars!

FINALLY, a high quality Japanese restaurant that meets the demands of a rising suburb filled with busy commuters and soccer moms too impatient and unwilling to spend Uptown prices on good food. Between finely crafted rolls and traditional cooking in a self-service environment, you can’t go wrong with a meal for the misplaced bachelor or family of six. In all seriousness, these guys are making top notch food and providing equally awesome service. Best of all, I’m certain they’ll be around for a while because they cater to exactly what the WMS area wants, and that’s a hot meal that’s good, quick and cheap(relatively).

While visiting Dallas, my cousin took me for a quick supper at this restaurant that was recently opened in Murphy, TX. The place still had several patrons though it was after 9 pm, which was promising. The restaurant serves similar food like a Hibachi restaurant like Benihana and the sort but without the frills. No catching broccoli with your mouth. No choo choo train made of onion tower. No clanking of cooking utensils or the chef doing tricks with eggs or shrimp tails. No smell of food or smoke on your hair and clothes and no $ 100 check to pay either! I thoroughly enjoyed my food. The tempura was light and crispy and it was a totally classic tempura that’s hard to make right and they did it nicely. I read someone wrote a review complaining about their tempura and that they should have used panko. Apparently, that guy who tried to school the restaurant didn’t even know what or how tempura should be. I laughed. I laughed again. The sushi choices were nice. I had never had their version of volcano rolls and it was excellent. For a no frill restaurant, they didn’t go shy on the pricy ingredients. That roll was well endowed with craw fish. It was awesome! The fried rice was soooo yummy. I loved it and it tasted proper like a Japanese fried rice should be. I loved the hibachi veggies too, big chunks of zucchini and onion grilled perfectly. I had the flounder, and never tried that before for hibachi. It was good but I loved the fact that it was even a choice. It’s a little out of the box, which I liked. Most of the sauces were made in house and not bottle bought. The shinrai hot sauce were also concocted by the chef there. The place was clean, new, and service was nice. The bathroom was big and tidy. Talking to some of the friendly restaurant employees, the place is a family owned and run, and many of the art works and decorations are made by family members by hand. How cool. For the price, and for the good food you’d get, I guess it exemplified«bang for your bucks.»

This place is fantastic! Great food at great prices. You get much more than what you pay for. The teriyaki salmon was fantastic. the food tastes exactly like the hibachi Japanese restaurants that sell way too much overpriced food. You get the same quality food, just in a much better portion and a MUCH better price. The staff is wonderfully friendly, the atmosphere is clean and inviting, and they play great music. Highly recommend this place to anyone. I’ll be back!

Today was our third lunch experience here. Each time we have tried something a little different. We really like the Bento box lunch. A lot to eat for sure. Today we had the chicken Teriyaki and the salmon boxes. Each was excellent. The folks that run this place are very friendly, the service is great, the prices are very reasonable and it is very clean. In my opinion, all the right things to make it a 5 star in their category. If you use Unilocal, like we do, to check out something new I think you will like this little place!
