Five years in, this place is our go-to pizza joint, especially on Mondays and Thursdays when selected pizzas are half price. On those days you can get a 14-inch thin crust with 4 ingredients for half the normal $ 20 price. These days that’s a true bargain. The downside is that on those days large groups of sports team affiliated adults often show up and they can be very loud and boisterous. I guess that’s to be expected when it’s really a sports bar. So, good pizza but a lot of of noise. Seems like a fair trade-off.

Not sure how my last review suddenly received 5 stars! Not from me. We did finally receive the gift certificate and returned to use it. Menu has changed. Prices have increased. Bartender had no idea what he was doing. Owner was working the bar too. Haven’t been back since.

Great place for pizza and a beer. Lots of TVs to watch sports on and friendly staff. I’ve tried a few items on the menu and have yet to be disappointed.

Sitting in Hitz right now really pissed. I frequent this place, and have never had this poor of service. I mean the service is nowhere impressive regularly– but we do have someone come to our table to check in on us once in a while. Tonight we have had to flag down every SINGLE waiter and bartender just to get a drink. And on their own, they’ve not come to the table in about one hour and twenty minutes. Beers are sitting empty, and no one is paying attention here. There is one Bartender here whom I like, he’s a shorter guy with a lot of tattoos, he is always on his A game, and I’m always impressed with his service. And he’s personable so that helps too. However, there is another male bartender whom I am not so fond of. He forgot a beer last time or so we were here, he is the slowest server, and also when he opens the beer bottles. He puts his entire hand around the opener and tip of your bottle and continue to wrap his hands around the bottle top where your mouth goes. Now knowing basic bartending duties, having also bartended myself– I know there is a process of bussing after previous customers– which often time means you placing your hands inside other people’s used glasses, in order to carry more volume. After carrying away another persons discarded glass, the LAST thing I want is your germ ridden other people’s mouth covered hands, cradling the neck and opening of my beer bottle. I gave the beer away, because I was so grossed out. advice, id say schedule the tattooed bartender guy more, he’s the only timely and from what it seems, experienced bartender.

Used to go for trivia, but the service was awful. For the almost 2 hours there, never got water refilled and my friends didn’t get more than 2 drinks a piece. Terrible waitresses.

Used to be a regular, the last time I ate here was last summer, at that time I ordered Nachos and had to send them back because the kitchen messed up the order. The replacement came and was also incorrect, so as to not cause a problem because the owner seemed annoyed, I ate those because at that point I was so hungry after waiting forty five minutes. So due to the owners attitude and slow service I decided not to frequent Hitz anymore. Being Easter Sunday, not too many places are open, a buddy of mine wanted to go somewhere to eat and watch the NCAA game, so we decided to come here. Sat at the bar, the bartender Miles recognized me and greeted me with my preferred drink, provided wonderful service. Although some adjustments to the menu have been made, ordered an appetizer and a pizza which was satisfactory. What I found interesting was the owner saw me, but evidently didn’t feel the need to say hello or greet me, inquire where I’ve been, nothing. So although I personally spent $ 30.00 on food and drink in your establishment after an eight month hiatus, gratitude just wasn’t going to be given. That’s OK, I don’t plan on coming back anytime soon.

We ordered from here for my daughter’s swim party. I have to say they have very good pizzas. All the guests at the party even mentioned how good the pizza was at Hitz. We ordered about 7 large pizzas(sausage and cheese, cheese, pepperoni and cheese, and supreme) to feed 20 toddlers and 30 adults and i have to say the pizza place didn’t skimped on the ingredients at all unlike other places. Definitely we will order again.

Stunning. Im in my 30s and feel young here. Its kinda kinda like a bar i once went to with my dad is southwestern iowa. Not a cozy place and everyone here seems depressed. But they could just be depressed because they havnt reeled in any ass and pooty pie recently. One nit, the food for one if us came out before the other. Pizza was light and delicious. What this place lacks in style, coolness, and sexiness, it makes up for in heart and determination. And for that ingive it 2.5 st

All you can eat pizza night. Do I need to say anything else about this place??? I went here with my sister on a Tuesday to take advantage of this amazing deal. The also have trivia night on Tuesday, so the bar area is crowded but there is a ton of room in the dining area. You can order as many one topping pizzas as you want(one pizza per person at a time). I enjoyed the pepperoni and Italian beef toppings. I wasn’t a fan of spinach as a topping. It was bland and tasted like frozen spinach. The all you can eat pizza deal also comes with all you can drink soda. So definitely pass on this place if you are dieting :)

Ordered take out a second time. The first time was good as I ordered their pizza, so I gave it a second shot. This time I ordered fried boneless chicken that was totally overcooked and my wife’s chicken nachos were described by her as «movie theater quality». I don’t know quite what meant but they didn’t look very good nor did they taste very good. I ordered a cobb salad which was pretty good, but the chicken they put into had a burnt-charred taste like they needed to clean their grills or something. I think if I ever go to this place it will be dine in only and only sticking to the pizza. I also felt for the prize of my 3 meals($ 40) that the quality was not very good. I can go down the strip mall to Mambo Italian and for $ 10 more I can get a nice italian dinner.

Was in town for a wedding and needed a place to catch some college football and a bite to eat between the ceremony and the reception. This place was exactly what we were looking for. Since we’re from downtown and not familiar with the area, we had to rely on Unilocal to narrow on a place and almost skipped out on a great meal because of some of the moronic reviews below. If you like cold beer, great pizza, and awesome wings all with friendly and helpful service — eat here.

Love the pizza at Hitz, but we’re really irked by all the new rules, new attitude and change of «policy.» We’ve been customers here since this place converted from Mexican food to pizza/spots bar… eons ago. Until recently, they offered«all you can eat pizza» three days a week. Though the price went up from time to time, it was always a great dinner out for a reasonable price. A few weeks ago they dropped this deal. Now, twice a week they offer half-price pizza. But there’s fine print, Unilocalers… it’s only half price on small and medium pizzas. The«big board» with the specials doesn’t state the fine print, so if you order without looking at the menu(who needs one, we get pizza all the time), you are going to pay full price for a large pizza. There seems to be a new manager or owner and he’s made all of these disappointing changes. In the«old days» if you forgot your coupon, no problem, they’d honor the deal anyway. Now, you better bring in the proof because there’s no latitude. For years, they had the same servers, they all knew us as well as other guests. When we walked in, our waitress would put in our order and bring us our drinks when she came to the table to greet us. A couple times she bought us dinner and we gave her gifts on special occasions. Now, it’s a new face every time we go to Hitz. We miss the friendly faces, the friendly attitude and the friendly prices. Hitz is now a miss. There are a lot of pizza places… time to find a new one.

This homey bar and grill is a casual comfy place to catch up with friends and family. Every night brings a new special, from 50-cent wings to half price pizza, there’s always a yummy deal. The wings are especially meaty and delicious! Staff are friendly, and they remember your favorite drinks. If you’re looking for a hometown bar, this is your place.

First time here and I had the ribs with sidewinder fries. The ribs were very meaty and had a sweet sauce to my liking. Also the sidewinder fries were something new on the menu and they are a must if you get a sandwich of any kind. You can get with with a garlic Parmesan topping and a ranch dipping sauce. They are also famous for pizza and my girlfriend had that. I decided to have a bite of that and their pizza is definitely worth trying especially on Mondays when it’s half off. Great food and great atmosphere and I will definitely go there again.

Great place to watch sports. Lots of TVs and a large menu selection. The food is average and over the years the portions have gotten smaller and pricing has gone up but it’s pretty much what you expect from a sports bar. The venue is split into two a restaurant side good for family’s and a bar side made for drinking, eating and watching sports. If your looking for a sports bar in lake county it’s defiantly worth checking out.

A great neighborhood restaurant which is good for either going out with your friends to have a few drinks, or coming with the family. This is possible because they really keep the two areas separate… the bar and then a dinning area.(of course you can get food and drinks in both areas). What I found striking is the menu as it is versatile; covering a wide range of foods. i would say that it will cater to just about everyone in the group. For our first visit, I got the Philly and my daughter ordered a Pizza. BOTH where outstanding! The wait staff does a real good job in answering your questions and helping out in deciding on what to order if needed. They also make sure that the drinks keep coming and don’t give the kids the chance to make slurppie noises made with a straw and an empty glass. So, not only do they have a great wait staff and outstanding food, the prices are very reasonable as well! What a great combination to have in a single place.
