What a piece of junk. This place is highway robbery! Nearly 1am and they are still charging people a cover and it appears based on race. This place is a disgrace. Save your money. Seriously?! A cover charge in sleepy Mountain View? You have to be kidding me. This place needs to be overlooked by the city and council. Needs decommissioned. Over priced and horrible experience. Teach me how to Dougie… seems all they care about. Time to form a real business plan.

My friend pay $ 20 for the entrance with a $ 10 voucher. But the door guy didn’t give the voucher so he had to pay for the whole bill when it was their mistake. Previously, another friend did not get in because the want him to pay before we must pay. Which was 11.

So I was at this restaurant with my date this evening, and the customer service wasn’t that great. We seated ourselves because that was the sign, and we had to approach a waiter to get the menu. When we ordered our drinks, the waiter basically prioritized the customers who were seated AFTER us and those at the bar. Our food was late, my drinks were delayed. Even though the food and drinks were tasty, what’s more important to me is customer service and this is why I give this place two stars.

Umm, what WAS that?!? Sunday. Brunch. Bottomless Mimosas. Smoked Salmon Egg in a Hole. Amazing! The perfect combination of sweet and salty with smoked salmon, capers, and an egg fried into vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar French Toast. Maybe it’s the mimosa(s) talking, but that may have been the best breakfast ever. Cheers to the chef.

Nice, casual pub for dinner or drinks. Come during happy hour if you want to get cheap drinks! For food, I’ve tried their fries, which are big and they come out really warm. I definitely recommend their fries if you want to order a quick appetizers. I don’t recommend their buffalo wings. It’s not worth it, and the portions are a big small. I’ve also tried their Classic burger, which was good! They are huge and filling. At night, they also play loud music with lights, so the atmosphere is almost like a club.

Breaking my silence over the overall great experience here stretching at least 20 years long, on and off. I love it at Stephen’s Green. There are plenty of one-time-specific reviews here, so I’m not going to touch on that. There have been a bit better and a bit worse visits for sure over the years. One of the more memorable I should note was a party they catered for our group last summer, for a coworker celebrating a birthday milestone. This was a lunch break in all day long series of events, and it was definitely the highlight of the day, time well spent. Everything they served for us was tasty, including mac-n-cheese(simple and delish), chicken wings, basic lettuce salad, fresh and crispy. Good beer and good times! That’s actually the key here: good times I’ve always had here, meeting friends for beer and catching up. The ambience is very pleasing, the space is plenty, all the attributes of an Irish pub are there, service is mostly pleasant and friendly, food is good. Granted, nothing exceptional, but solid. I like how this place didn’t turn into something else fancy or pretensions over the years, but rather retained its original charm and atmosphere. It’s an overall vibe that makes me come back time and time again.

No way… This place is a total rip off, definitely not coming back. Ok, reverse. Let’s talk about the positive attributes first. The ambiance is great! Lots of wood, shamrocks on the outside of the building, very aesthetic on the inside. It really screams, «Irish Bar!» As you enter the doors, there’s a big sign that says, «please seat yourself.» So we did a couple laps around the place, found a few empty tables, and picked our favorite one. A lovely waitress promptly greeted us, and handed us 6 menus. The menu selection itself is pretty fun. Corned beef and cabbage, hamburgers, fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, some curry dishes. Things we typically find that a good Irish bar. So that’s all the good stuff. The ambience is fun, but it’s very loud, which is cool(it’s a bar/restaurant). But there was terrible and very out-of-place 90’s-hits playing. Not fun stuff, but crap like, «will you still call me superman?», some Creed, and Third Eye Blind?! The music was so loud that it overcame the noise of the crowd. But it wasn’t just the noise factor, to each their own. But the music theme was terrible! Third Eye Blind… Really? But whatever. It’s just music. I really only have one complaint about this place: the price. The average price on the menu for very basic food is like $ 16 or $ 17. Some ranging as high as the mid to high twenties. Prices for beer are actually quite reasonable. I mean, it’s great. Especially Guinness($ 3 and change, on draft. What a delicious deal!!). I don’t mind paying a few extra bucks for relatively much better food. But the food was mediocre, at best. Way, wayyyy overpriced… For example, I had the Stephens Burger, which was $ 13. And it tasted exactly like a hamburger that should be significantly cheaper. The bread was good, but kind of dry. You know… like a typical hamburger bun. The veggies were sparsely added, and the burger overall just kind of tasted like a salty regular beef burger. It wasn’t «bad.» It was just an average burger. What made it bad was the price. And unless the details are just not listed on the menu, we’re not talking about some organic, sustainable, grade-A local never-frozen beef, we are talking about a general hamburger-patty. Honestly, I was pissed off. I love spending a few bucks on a good time, but I genuinely feel like I wasted my money. Other examples include basic chicken wings for $ 12, onion rings for $ 12; the more Irish food such corned beef and cabbage or fish and chips were $ 17 -$ 20 bucks. Salmon for $ 24, a steak for $ 27! $ 27… What are we doing, going to Ruth’s Chris Steak House? At some point, reading the menu just got exhausting. I mean what are we talking about here? We are at a goddamn Pub! Again the food was good… It wasn’t great, it was good. But no one was happy with it just because it was so expensive. It was mediocre(albeit unique) food charged at a premium rate. Every single one of us felt ripped off. Major bummer… I’ve read all these great reviews about the quality of their food, the price, and they’re amazing happy hour. I caught a picture of the former happy hour, looks really awesome! But now, it looks as if the menu has changed? Not really much to reference, just that the overall experience was a major letdown. The happy hour is(now) not much of a happy hour. It’s more of an hour of sadness. Again, they win with the beer. But they fall short, again, with food. Happy hours are known for their deals of a lifetime to draw in crowds. This 30% off(selected) already overpriced food takes it down to a number that the food should have cost to begin with. In some cases, their prices need to be cut more than half. In examples like the hamburger, I think 10 bucks fine. But some of their burgers are in the $ 16 and $ 17 range(for a hamburger?!). The take away is that this is a nice(average) bar/restaurant. The beer is untouchable. But the food absolutely ruins the experience. Ruins it. The food itself is «okay.» But the prices are exhaustingly outrageous. Come on… Great place to come for a couple beers, terrible place to come to get food.

Great place to hang out with friends. Many tvs around and I like both bar and table seats. Lots of choices and great appetizers to go with the beer. The place is big, might need to a wave a little more to get the servers. I tend to go on slower days. And how can u not love their happy hours.

Decent British style pub. A large interior space with lots of tables and little places to cozy up in. The bar itself is huge and they have a ginormous wall sized screen for watching sports on in addition to smaller units mounted above the bar. The taps are pretty solid with crowd favorites such as smithwicks, guiness, and stiegl, in addition to regional brands like lagunitas and trumer pils. the food is okay-I’m not a big fan of shepherds pie but if you like it, it’s here. They have decent bar food, but there totally are better restaurants on the strip. Just not ones where you can drink comfortably and watch football. It opens early enough for breakfast, and will have special hours to accommodate world cup. Danica(possibly not her real name) is the best bartender ever, so between her, stiegl’s and early football mornings, I’m all in.

We got charged way more at 3:00. I called and left a message for the managers months ago so they could update the site and no reply. False advertising. Nice place but check your website!!!

Tl;dr — Hire more servers Decent place to catch the game. Service is terrible and the food is mediocre. I understand when service is a bit slow due to a full house, but our server has been by twice in the past hour. He seems to get all the way to the table next to us and then disappears. Don’t come here on Sundays if you’re expecting timely service or bottomless mimosas. Apparently they«aren’t doing bottomless mimosas today»(yes, today is a Sunday, it’s football season and we were here at 9:30am) despite their menu and website indicating otherwise.

it was New Year’s n we just wanted to have some drinks first before we had dinner so we went to Castro in Mountain View. we were hoping to go to Stein’s Beer Garden or Bierhaus, but they were both closed. so sad! so we walked around n found this Irish Pub open. it was either this one or Molly McGee’s. slim pickings. from the outside, it just looks like a small, dark hole in the wall bar. when we entered, we realized its pretty large inside. it’s got many tables, a large bar area, n at least 2 tvs on each wall. we got there in time for the last quarter of the Stanford vs. Iowa game. there were many peeps rooting for Stanford(of course.) it was a rowdy, but fun crowd. the fries we ordered were just ok. but the beer selection was not bad. I wouldn’t mind going back there just for the beers n watching some games with friends.

I am a frequent customer here. I always get Guinness since they have it on tap. I don’t know what happened, but I came here for HH on a Wednesday a few weeks ago and I was charged for the full price(I thought it was only $ 2.75 like the last time I was here!). My friend, on the other hand, got the HH discount for her Strongbow cider. We were served by the same bartender, who I’ve never seen before. He seemed new. I figured maybe HH was over, but that wasn’t the case because my friend ordered after me. My card got swiped and everything, so I decided to let it go and not make a fuss about it. Next time, though… I’m making sure I’m paying the right amount! I’ve never had this problem before. ANYWAY, the music has improved a lot(they used to play a bunch of mariachi and international music, haha), and I appreciate that they do not really charge covers anymore. This place was PACKED, more so than Molly’s and all the other nightclubs on Castro. I felt like I was at the Patio in Palo Alto or something, where I could barely move through the crowd. I always make a stop here when I am hanging out in downtown MV. Great beer and atmosphere. Still have yet to try their food though.

After a long bike ride through the Santa Cruz Mountains, I figured before I head home I will stop and get a cocktail. I met the tall and lovely enchantress Danica and she made me her specialty. They have Smithwick’s. Their fried food is good, delivered crisp and not soggy. Happy Hour is 30% off for items with the happy-hour icon which includes some appetizers and all draft beers. My friend is upset that they no longer serve potato skins. Ask for them when you go in, so they put them back on the menu!

Terrible service! I went with a group of friends on a Monday evening for trivia. We sat at the bar and everyone in my party, except for me, ordered a drink. About half an hour later, the bartender very rudely told me that I had to move since the stools were for paying customers only. I offered to buy a drink at that point, but he flat out refused to sell me anything and made me move. This is in spite of the fact that there were other open seats AND the person who sat there after me also didn’t order anything. I let it slide and went on with my night. The next day I called up the bar and asked to speak to a manager to complain. She clearly didn’t really care about what happened to me, never apologized, and said she’d get back to me the next day. I never received a call back. This is NOT how you treat customers. The fact that I OFFERED to buy something and was REFUSED is unacceptable. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the fact that I was the only Hispanic person there.

Did I say they have more than 10 TVs in the house!!! Lots of seatings, grab a beer and enjoy your game with a group of friends! Service: Our server was great, very accommodating especially to us morons cheering on too loudly at the TV screens. Came here with a group of friends to watch football(UCLA vs. BYU and Stanford vs. USC), great atmosphere for watching games! Our beers came right away(which is most important!), though food did take awhile(30 mins)! Food: don’t expect too much here, came here to watch a game not for food :) if you must, you can’t go wrong with chicken tenders and a side of steak fries. Pretty standard game snacks! Guinness steak pie with mash and vegs is decent; the crust is amazingly crispy, steak fillings is a lil salty, slightly dry. Ask for an extra side of gravy, it makes everything taste better! Drinks: great selection of beers! Parking: might be tough depending on when you are there. Restaurant is located right in the middle of mountain view downtown. There are plenty of street parkings and parking lots, you just gotta look, it does take a lil time finding a spot when it’s meal time(lunch, dinner, especially weekends) Goo BRUINS!!!

I came here for my friends birthday the other night. They are an Irish bar with great beer and whiskey. After around 10pm they were bumping up there music with old school hits. It was a great time. I think it was affordable. I honestly can’t precisely remember what I drank. I only remember that the chicken tenders were delicious. It was pretty late and they very kindly squeezed in my order before the kitchen closed. Wasn’t too crowded on a Thursday night, and was still lively, so it’s great to go with friends or a date to relax and enjoy a beer and get a little tipsy to some good music. Parking… You’re in downtown so find parking and just walk. ;) parkings always going to be hard on Thursday nights

Big ol’ «meh» to St. Stephen’s Green. It’s cute inside — reminded me of the many pubs in England I used to go to when I lived there — but the food/drinks leave something to be desired. That’s really all I’ve got for you. If you’re desperate for a pub, come here. If you just want to meet friends for a drink, go elsewhere.

Came here with a big group of 14 or so people. After some configuring they could accommodate us, which was nice. This may be a fine place to get some beers and watch some sports, but food-wise I got the seared salmon($ 16.95) and didn’t like the sour creaminess of the sauce and rice. The vegetables tasted like defrosted frozen vegetables. The salmon actually had a good sear and was an ample portion, it was just the add-ons that made the meal taste weird. Definitely not worth the price, but I guess I shouldn’t expect a pub to have outstanding non-pub food. Several of my fellow diners got their pies, either sheperd’s pie or Guiness pie, and those items looked more tasty.

This place has really good tvs all over their bar! They have plenty of seats and everyone that works there is very nice. I came here for the Paquiao and Mayweather fight!!! I got to tell you that the place got packed within the hour we just got in! The cover was steep, they charged us 50 bucks to watch the game, but the deal was that we could use 25 bucks for food and drinks so the actual cover was only 25!!! Pretty sweet!!! Their hot wings here are sooooooo good! I mean seriously juicy chicken! If your looking for a great place to watch the game with descant gm food and good beer selection I recommend this place!

Recommendation: Not bad. Service was nice. I only ordered an appetizer so I don’t have much to go on, but the experience I had was pleasant. I sat down at the tables outside to take a break from walking around Mountain View, and after a few minutes a waitress came out with a menu and asked me if I wanted to order anything. I was feeling a little hungry at the time, so I ordered the sweet potato fries appetizer. It came out after about 10 minutes, and perhaps halfway into the wait the waitress brought out my drink and the carrier for condiments. Once the fries did come out though, I thoroughly enjoyed them! They had the characteristic sweet taste of sweet potatoes and were cooked in a way that left them deliciously crunchy on the outside while still having the majority be the soft sweet potato. Not too greasy, either! These fries were served with a cup of ranch dressing which was an unexpected side but delicious once I tried it. I didn’t go inside, but I heard lots of cheering! Seems like a very loud place with an energetic atmosphere, but it could have just been the basketball game that was on that day. All in all, I think it would be a place I would go back to if I was looking for a casual dinner to watch a sports game, or to have a loud fun time with rambunctious friends.

My first pub experience in Mountain View! My first thought as I entered: …Wow, that’s a lot of people wearing their company logo tees. But hey, no surprise there — that’s South Bay for ya! The overall vibe was energetic and social; amazingly, St. Stephen’s Green also hit the perfect balance of crowded: not crowded despite it being a Friday night. When I go out, it’s usually in SF, so I was definitely pleasantly surprised by the ease of moving around/walking indoors in this place. Large projector screens and TV for watching spots in the back and small dance floor tucked into the side. The music was Top 40 hits — everyone was singing along or bobbing their heads to the beat, which was great. I love accessible music that everyone can enjoy. Unlike the other nightlife/bar options on Castro Street, we didn’t have to pay cover! Not sure if this is always the case as some other reviewers have mentioned $ 10 cover.

I just had a traditional Irish breakfast, it is very savory. I like it. I am very explorative on my food! I like the blood sausage, yeah I ate pigs blood. So its not foreign to my palate. The service is not really top of the mark! The selection of beer … Wow gargantuan… I had Steigl Radler its only 2.5 apv so it’s on the sweet side. I tried this traditional Irish food to commemorate St Patrick’s Day. Good Luck to All and Be Happy!
