This place is a joke. Service is outstandingly horrible. We wanted to sit at the table, the waitress said that we can’t. It was two of us and table was for 4 ppl. Then she offered us to sit at the table after removing dirty bucket from that table in front of us, then she put it on the floor. Would you ever do smth like this to your guests??? After we got miso soup with no spoons and we asked for spoons. Waitress mumbled that we should drink it like this, but she brought spoons after awhile. And then the Bento box came with old shoe beef. My hubby not picky at all. But he didn’t even touched it. He ate only rice and roll. That’s how bad it was looking!!! It seemed this beef were made year 2015. I’m not a hater. I just feel like people who want to explore different places, like we are trying to do, shouldn’t waste there money going to such kind of places. That all.

I ordered the unagi bento box. In terms of a business lunch and filling, its okay; not so for the taste. The unagi is covered with too much sauce. It really only has the sweetness in the sauce. I won’t come back for unagi.

My favorite sushi place by far. I’ve been here several times. I wish I reviewed them sooner so everyone knows about them. The owners are so sweet and kind. Excellent service. They always welcome you with a smile. There has not been a time I did not like their service. The place is clean and the sushi is amazing. 30% off sushi all the time, nice on your wallet. Love it. I’ve tried more than half of their sushi menu, it’s hard to choose just one fave. I would say, the Cherry Blossom and Never Ending. They even have the Google Roll and the Microsoft Roll.

So many things went wrong with our experience here. First we ordered from door dash and the website didn’t state the menu correctly. I ordered the ramen noodles which I thought came with sliced pork and the teriyaki chicken. But when my order arrived I received over cooked ramen noodles with no sliced pork! The no slice pork was actually a mistake on door dash’s part since they had it incorrectly listed on their website and they didn’t readily admit their mistake either. The actual staff at Hon Sushi were actually apologetic about the misunderstanding which I appreciated. The chicken teriyaki tasted too sweet and chicken tasted old/just not right. So not a good experience and not eating there again.

This place improved a lot. I come here weekly now. It is very affordable! Their son who studied as a chef in SF now works here and it is better than ever. I love the names of the roles, screaming organism, French kiss. I’m is close to the cinema so you can walk after dinner for a movie.

Nice sushi! I like the sushi here, they are delicious, and cheap! It’s definitely worth a try! My favorite rolls are Google and Micro Soft. They have soft shell crabs in the roll. I like the California roll a lot!

2 of 3 glasses with water was dirty, they just didn’t wash them at all! With two different lipstick! And the waitress wasnt good. She forgot to bring plates for sauce. And didn’t make any discount for us even after dirty grasses. We will never come back!

5 star review writers for this place have got to be trippin’. While I admit I was born and raised in Japan(and therefore have a good understanding of the cuisine), my standards aren’t all that high. I really only demand that the food be fresh, and Hon just didn’t meet that criteria by any stretch. I feel compelled to warn people off! Undoubtedly one of the worst meals I’ve ever eaten. I don’t know where to start. 1. Water smelled like detergent. All the dishes smelled like detergent. Water and miso soup were both tainted by the detergent scent/taste. 2. Old as shit tempura used in the tempura roll! I thought my husband was being dramatic until I tried a bite and realized it was hard, chewy and dry tempura(clearly reheated from the night before, at best). I have the barfs just thinking about it. 3. Chicken in teriyaki was just awful. Again, was probably par cooked(though clearly had never touched a grill or hot enough pan as it looked steamed) and then microwaved. 4. Tonkatsu sauce was off. Tonkatsu itself was the only marginally edible item we got. 5. Salad had clearly been prepped the night before, and stored in an open container. The dressing was congealed in places and crusted to the lettuce leaves. 6. Rice, the cornerstone of Japanese cuisine was poorly prepared. Almost reminded me of like an Uncle Ben’s type of rice. If you have functioning taste buds or any desire to avoid the heaves, I would skip Hon without hesitation.

My friend recommended this restaurant for its food so we thought we’d give it a try at lunchtime. For Japanese food, the price seems reasonable. Two of us shared a teriyaki chicken bento box and some extras – fried shrimps, tempuras, sashimi, rolls. We also asked for hot tea. Food was served quickly. The raw fish was fresh, which is very important. The other dishes were also fine, though really nothing to write home about. If we had more people I’d like to try their Ramen dishes too. The dining environment is humble, family-style, which is okay. What really turned me off is the bathroom. You need to go through the kitchen to get to it, passing stacked trays of half-cooked chicken. Not a pleasant sight, and absolutely unappetizing. The bathroom itself is also messy(used as a storage room for cleaning supplies) though not dirty. Because hygiene is of utter importance for Japanese food(handwork on raw materials) and Japanese culture in general, this seems unthinkable and unacceptable. I wonder what Japanese customers would say.

My boyfriend and I kind of stumbled upon this place when we were waiting for our movie to start. It is located in a small plaza right next to the movie Cinemark Cinema 16 Theatre. There isn’t much food places around there but its right down the street from Google! You’ll know you’re in Google territory when you start seeing all their Google bikes parked/left everywhere. Anywho, it’s a semi-small sushi restaurant, we were the only ones there so we were kind of iffy about it. The place looks a bit dirty as well and there were a couple flies around. However, their sushi selection isn’t bad and for good prices as well! When we saw the menu, there were more pricier prices that were crossed off and next to them had a cheaper price. They said the cost of the rolls were the cheaper price so we were happy about that. We had the Dragon(crab, cucumber, avocado, shrimp tempura, and eel) and the Drunken Tiger(crab, cucumber, shrimp tempura, avocado, and salmon). The rolls were very tasty and the salmon was super fresh, we were impressed. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the chicken karaage. It was overcooked, hard, and didn’t taste very good.

I thought this was going to be a budget priced place with average food. I was only right about the food being average. Hence, the two star rating. First, the woman who took our order couldn’t remember what we each ordered. Really? Second, the order was wrong. We ordered 2x Green Dragon rolls, one without the Tobiko topping. Well, both came without Tobiko. Third, the Salmon Skin Salad’s salmon skin were a bit soggy and chewy. Fourth, the sauce on my Unagi Don was too thick and heavily used. But the clincher was the bill which was not exactly budget priced! Sorry, but I don’t plan to come back here. Tip: You should have checked out Sono Sushi before they closed for renovation/renaming into Rumble Fish!

I arrived around 1145 for lunch. Signage on the door said 30% off rolls, that made me happy. I was treated by everyone and then the hostest took my order. Red dragon roll $ 8.95 Chirashi $ 20.95 $ 32.60 for lunch The atmoshphere is very welcoming and typical of small sushi restaurants, bar to watch sushi prep and seating for tow to four. The fish in the Chirashi was delicious. Buttery soft, very full if flavor and held together real well when dipped in soy sauce and or wasabi. The roll didn’t look what I ordered but the flavors were great. Although I would have enjoyed the small eggs on up

I was looking for a quick, light lunch and stumbled upon this large sushi restaurant near the Century Theater in Mountain View. It looks like a family-run business by Koreans. I ordered the Google Roll, since its Silicon Valley after all. The fish(alternating salmon and unagi) on the outside was fresh for the most part, and the fried shrimp in the center gave a nice crunch. The rice was seasoned but more densely packed than I liked — the pieces didn’t disintegrate after the first bite. Overall, decent place for sushi — but I’ve had much better in the East Bay. Note you need to request water — they even have a sign that says so.

Dragon Roll: The rice was too dense. The imitation crab meat was good but the shrimp tempura had a hard batter and tasted like it was fried a while ago. It was topped with watery mayo sauce, super thin Unagi & weak Unagi sauce. The Tobiko(fish eggs) were flavorless. Overall the roll was not bad but it definitely was more about value than quality. The roll was huge for costing about $ 9. Salmon sashimi: was super thick and tasted fresh. The grade was average but for less than $ 6 for 4 thick pieces, what should one expect? This place is not so much about quality and taste but it is definitely a good value. You can be full with a lot less $ than most sushi restaurants. If you have starving teenager to feed and they want sushi, this is a good option. If you have a discerning palate, you should pass.

Interesting sushi names like One Night Stand, French Kiss and Google. I’ve always had great service everytime I’m here. They always treat us like family! This place is definitely one of the cheapest sushi places around. I love the fact that they have thick slices of sashimi for the rolls and they always give us appetizers like miso soup on the house. My favourite rolls are the: last samurai & dragon roll!(They also have the Lion King roll for those who don’t like raw fish)
