So sad that the company can’t stay solvent! I am really going to miss you F&E!!!:(

Within walking distance of our place and often pass by it when taking a stroll, so stop in often to take a look, but rarely find any good valued purchases here. Doesn’t help that this place always looks so barren inside. I rarely see a crowd here. The only things I find worth purchasing here are their chips and other random munchies that must be bought when you are having off the wall cravings. Am a big fan of their discount rack that they put out around 8pm or so. They load it up with loaves of breads and other items at a reduced price. Like the fact that they are trying to promote healthier living and focus in on that market, but when you strip away all the dressing, it’s really not that much different from any other grocery store except for their exorbitant pricing. Whole Foods is more expensive, but they have a ton more options. Some places grow on you; others, you grow tired of. Sadly, it’s the case of the latter for me.

Good place to stop when I just need a few items. I really like the«Fresh Baked» cookies and pastries. I give this place 4 star cuz they have Mangoes! All the large chain stores, and Costco stopped(end of season).

Fresh and Easy has smaller portioned items, which are good for people who live alone or with one other person. Twice, I have purchased EXPIRED items from this Fresh and Easy, so if you are going to shop here, be sure to check the expiration dates. Yesterday, July 29, 2015, I purchased a large tub of yogurt that had an enjoy by July 24, 2015 date. I called the store, explained the problem and the Fresh and Easy representative just listened passively. I had to come up with my own solutions, «What should I do about this?» I asked him. «Should I come back to the store? Do I return this item?» Now I have to waste my time and take an extra trip to the store to return a container of yogurt.

An odd store, but it has low prices, think of ot as more like a very late 7 – 11 with low prices. The selection is always a bot odd and I have never been able to do all of my week’s shopping at this store, its just not possible. Its good for a quick stop when you just have to have anything to get you by for the evening. You do have to check yourself out(its easy) and pack your own bags(a pain if you’re not skilled at it) but its very fast to get in and out, one you’re familiar with the layout.

I’m sorry, but they just aren’t that good. Sure they offer some healthier alternatives than you’ll find at Safeway, but the prices are too high and the service is poor. In most cases, you can find similar(or identical) products at the Safeway, either the one on San Antonio or the one on Shoreline. This place just isn’t very good. They’re trying to appeal to people who are easily fooled by organic bullshit. The sort of Palo Alto hippie dumbasses who think«crystallized cane juice» is a magic healing potion while«high fructose corn syrup» causes your children to develop rabies and murder each other. Seriously. As a 29 year old guy living by myself, it’s cheaper to go to Safeway or 7 – 11. I’ll give them two stars rather than one though, because there are some decent products that I haven’t seen elsewhere, like these milk products that are legit milk with protein, not a crappy muscle milk that tastes metallic. But you’d be better off ordering that stuff online. If you’re really crazy about organic hippie bullshit, go somewhere else. This place isn’t worth your time unless you want some specific product that you can’t find anywhere else.

I recently wrote a one star review and both Christine(in store) and Miranda(online) reached out to me and turned a one star into 4 stars. Cheers

I love Fresh & Easy. It’s weird to think how I can have such strong feelings toward a grocery store, but trust me, it’s true. It’s small so you can run in and grab a couple things super quickly. Despite it’s size, they have all the basics. There is a good selection of well-priced salads and semi– prepared foods. The produce section isn’t large, but it’s fairly diverse. I love the fact that they sell things in smaller portions – it is perfect for a small household. And I am often pleasantly surprised to find a sale on some veggies or a salad if I am looking for something to eat the same day. Swoon!

As of 12/17/2014, the salad that expires 12/16/2014 was sold. Is that legal? I bought it because I didn’t know it. The lid was half opened, so salad was all over the place in my backpack. I threw the pieces away above the trash can. Accidentaly I dropped my phone into the trash box. I didn’t notice it, and I had to suspend it, and will have to buy a device. The first half was the store’s fault. The last half is mine, but if the lid had been correct, I would not have lost the phone.

Fresh and easy has a local grocery feel to it. It has what you need and some of the things you want. This is a good spot for daily grocery shopping. They have fresh meat and vegetables as well as some bread and pastries. They sell items in average portion good for a individual or a couple. They have fresh packed breakfast, lunch, dinner and fruits that is adequately portioned for an individual. One thing I like the most is the cheap I heart CA wine that is especially made for Fresh and Easy for only $ 4.99. This place is highly recommended for a single person or a couple for day to day fresh food shopping.

This store is great, once you get used to the quirks. Yes, you have to check yourself out as there is no other option. Most of the people that work here are in there own world, but do appear if you start swearing at the self-check out station because it thinks you bagged an item. There is one exceptional employee that I’ve interacted with at this location. She is female, wears glasses… I’ll get her name next time… smiles, and will even help you bag your groceries. I used to like when they had the discount section near the eggs for everything that had to be sold that day. But now everything is inter dispersed throughout the store.

Introvert and autistic friendly. No one bothers you. They do monitor the self checkout registers and if there’s a hold, an employee magically appears to help you fix it. Otherwise, it’s a quiet, peaceful shopping experience. Lots of discounts on food nearing its sell by date, often 50% off the original price. Usually you can find something ready to eat or heat at a discounted rate, which is sweet. I’ve gotten salads, pizza, pasta, veggies and meat for cheap this way and I either eat them right away or freeze them for later. Everything is packaged for convenience, which normally bothers me, but the proportions and prices are reasonable for a single person and the packaging makes it easier to transport home on my bike.

Why does everything I buy here taste off and go bad quickly? Anything fresh; produce, milk, meats all spoil within several days rather than a week which is what you get from other stores. I like the concept but the combination of poor food quality control combined with inept staff makes this place the last choice for grocery shopping.
