Came here for cinnamon bun donut and a maple bar around 11:00am and could already see they had sold out of a lot of their stock which is a good sign. Huge donuts! It was about $ 1.50 per donut which I initially thought seemed a bit high but they are very good and much bigger than your average donut. Really liked the mom and pop feel and glad to see they’re doing well judging by how quickly they sell out of their delicious donuts.

I don’t always eat donuts, but when I do, I pretty much always go to Stan’s Donut Shop in Santa Clara. But every now and then, I try to stop by other donut places to see how they compare to Stan’s. I was in Mountain View early one morning and was hungry for some breakfast. As soon as I saw this place from the street, I pulled in and decided to try it out. To begin with, it’s located in a small, somewhat sketchy shopping center. However, I saw several people come in and out, as well as people eating inside, so everything seemed promising thus far. As soon as you walk in, you’ll notice the enormous variety of donuts behind the glass. Every single type of donut imaginable was sitting there just waiting to be eaten. My personal favorite is glazed, so I went ahead and ordered one. The price? $ 0.85. And, let me tell you, although this donut was still nowhere near as good as the glazed donuts at Stan’s, it still tasted fresh and was, overall, a pretty damn good donut for such a cheap price. They also make sandwiches and serve coffee. You can sit down and eat too, as there are tables and chairs inside. Overall, it’s a decent place to get donuts. 4 stars

My tried and true for delicious pink box donuts. The best. Staff is always very friendly. Quality of donuts is consistently fabulous. Raised donuts don’t taste over-fried, and cake donuts are moist and light.

I stopped by and it was around 11AM on Sunday. In front of me I saw 1 Asian lady for sandwich, 2 Mexican guys for a sandwich and a couple. Apparently, the lady behind the counter was making sandwiches for just about anybody in town. I waited impatiently in line for 5 to 10 minute(I hate to stand in line for more than 5 minutes). I eventually walked away and go breakfast in less than 5 minutes elsewhere. Honestly, this place should have at least two people behind the counter. Also, they make sandwiched but, really, if you want a sandwich go some place else. This place is called Donut Basket!

Can’t get enough of their donuts. I used to stop by for two donuts a day but they’re so big I’ve cut it down to one. For $ 0.85 you get a donut bigger than your fist and you’ll definitely be satisfied. I’ve had to get into the habit of eating half and saving the rest for later but I’m always waking up looking forward to stopping by here. Just make sure you come early because their donuts go FAST! By noon you might be lucky to find a jelly-filled donut left for you. Get em while you can.

I bought a dozen donuts here this morning for my office. Everyone loves them! I had a crullers and it was delicious — perfect texture too. The woman helping me also threw in a handful of donut holes. Perfect for colleagues who did not want to indulge in a whole donut!

I work at the bar next door and finally tried this place. Their donuts are very good, but their croissants are absolutely amazing. They make them fresh everyday! Breakfast sandwich on a croissant definitely starts my day out right!

Freaking awesome donuts! Despite dropping in mid-morning, my husband and I found their donuts to still be soft in the afternoon. The glazed donuts are just lovely! One con would have to be the $ 4.00 minimum charge if you want to use your credit card. We ended up getting more donuts then we wanted because of this, but that’s okay when they taste really good!

I love a good doughnut and this place has a good recipe for the cause. No WiFi, so I won’t frequent much but the staff are nice people.

No public restroom. If you have a food establishment, especially one that serves coffee, where customers may hang out and read or chat for a while, you should provide restrooms for customers.

Great donut shop. I’ve gone at different times of the morning, and the donuts have always been fresh and delicious. I’ve also tried their croissant sandwiches. The egg and cheese was very good, and prepared fresh while I waited. Good price and great value. The ladies who run the shop are always very friendly and helpful.

Giving the place 4 stars because that’s already the average. The service was friendly and the donuts were fresh. That’s not what this review is about. How is it possible in this land of plenty that the Bay Area seems to have only one generic donut shop? I mean, these are exactly the same donuts that you get everywhere. Exactly the same variety, same glazes, same shapes, everything. I can’t taste any differences between them and donuts from any other shop. Otherwise, it seems the donuts are all made in one giant factory somewhere and shipped to donut shops around California. Why is that?

You standard old school donut shop. Donut holes and glazed are my standards. Theyre ok here. Not awesome, not bad. They are however a sweet counterpoint to the many spicy taqueria eats in the area

Today my friend went into the Donut Basket… ready to enjoy an apple fritter. It was about 8:30 am and she was expecting it to be fresh and delicious. She even asked if they were baked this morning! The owner’s response was, «I swear I made them this morning.» My friend, K. came in to work looking forward to eating a delicious treat first thing before starting the work day. Not to be… it was burnt and hard. She called the shop to let the owner know she was disappointed and the owner hung up on her. Now, not many customers would get back in their car and drive back for a $ 1.50 donut… But K. was absolutely pissed off that it was stale and the owner was so rude. Back in the car… back to the the Donut Basket and back to the owner the apple fritter went. Did the owner apologize or offer another treat? NOPE… she took it from K. and put it back on the shelf and threw the money at her insisting it was fresh. Well, we know that’s not so and this is no way to stay in business… not in this economy.

3 stars but subtracting one for the service. I’m on a quest to find the best original glazed donut in the Bay Area, and decided to swing by Donut Basket since I’ve driven by for years. There was ample parking in the afternoon, and the Donut Basket was completely empty. They still had a decent selection of donuts available, but nothing looked that appetizing aside from the original glazed donut( ). The lady that was working there was not very friendly, and didn’t even wait for me to finish paying before returning to watch her laptop or whatever it was on her stool. I was just instructed to leave my payment on the counter. The donut itself was good, but nothing special. I liked the taste and consistency of the glaze since it wasn’t too sweet, but the donut was too soft and didn’t have that slight chew that I look for. It was still $ 0.80 well spent to try the donut, but I’m onto the next donut shop that hopefully has better service!

I’ve tried every donut spot in the area being I grew up in Palo Alto. Hands down this one has the best donuts. Happy donuts went downhill lately and Krispy Kreme is way too rich. Now this isn’t the nicest looking place but I don’t go to sit down and eat. If I had to pick two things to eat there it would be their apple fritters and breakfast sandwiches made with their own baked croissants. Still though try the glazed, and the crullers, and the old fashioned are done right too-screw it just eat em all…

This spot has been around for 20 years, but there’s only 5 reviews? I decided to give it a go. I went right when it opened so I could test their freshest batch. Service was poor, but probably because it was Sunday and they had to deliver a whole church worth of donuts that morning. Still, the younger lady didn’t have to give so much attitude though. Can’t beat the price, hence the 2 stars. Half dozen reg donuts for $ 3.95. But they tasted so normal and underwhelming. Go if you really want a donut, but I’ll still be in the hunt for a better spot.

Ahhh… I just had to write this one up right away. So I went into Donut Basket like 10 minutes ago. This was my desert after lunch around 12:45pm…not a big place… you can see this gal making donuts… everything is out ready for the fryer. After looking around I decided to order a Glaze Donut and and Fancy Glaze Donut. It’s been sometime since I had a donut… so I just had to eat it right away. First bite of the Fancy Glaze Donut… first reaction was«YUM»…lite, fluffy, fresh and not too sweet but sweet enough. First bite of the Regular Glaze Dount… first reaction was«YUM»…also fresh and sweet but not too sweet. The Regular Glaze Donut was a little bit more doughy but good. Out of the two, my favorite was the Fancy Glazed because it was lite and fluffy and fresh. Oh…normally I’ve been paying close to a dollar for one donut… but not this place… both donuts were $ 1.40. So… good price, quick service, good food! Yes! Awesome place. I’ll be back for more!
