I’ve picked up pizza from Amici’s a couple times now and it’s just not that great. It’s pretty expensive and I just haven’t been that excited about my orders. Dare I say it, for the price and the product, I think you’re better off going to a chain like Little Caesar’s or Papa Johns.

Got the chicken pesto parm sandwich… This was a mistake. The sandwich was covered in soggy tasteless vegetables and mushrooms that were not specified on the menu at all. The pesto sauce lacked any kind of flavor. The bread was burned. The sandwich was DRIPPING with grease, I spent a good amount of time in the head following this abysmal meal that I could only stomach a few bites of.

In general, pizza here is way too thick to be New York style. Caesar salad was OK. Mnp looked anchovies of course. Went halfsies on medium whole wheat pizza: — cane out on regular crust, sigh. — Margherita had too much cheese, not enough basil. — Trentino has no sauce so ingredients came through, which was bacon. Kids(4, 6 yo) split small cheese pizza and ate half. Too expensive and low ROI. Skip.

Good pizza, love their Caesar salad! The pizza is just ok, family friendly place a little outside of MTV downtown craziness!

Pasta with meat sauce and a side of Italian sausage. My favorite. I like several of their no sauce pizzas. Interesting flavor combinations

It’s okay. We met an old friend here for dinner. He’s a huge fan of Amici’s and would have given them 5 stars. I thought it was okay, but I wish the sauce had a bit more flavor. The crust is really good, though. Nice and chewy with good, slow-fermented flavor. Our crust was not burnt, which seems like a common complaint. Our friend ordered caramelized onions, provolone, and spicy sausage on his side. DH and I got regular sausage and mushrooms. Basil on the entire pie. Amount of toppings seemed appropriate. A large pizza was nearly $ 34 with all of our toppings. Add a beer and a soda for another $ 10. With tax and tip, we’re looking at over $ 50 for 3 people. And we weren’t even full! Yikes! Service was good and the restaurant was clean. Free parking in the structure behind the restaurant. Overall: okay place for pizza, but nothing to write home about.

This isn’t pizza. This is a thin slice of cardboard made of grease! This is the worst pizza I’ve had hands down(and hands down because I don’t want to touch what they try to pass off as food). If you’d like a heart attack made of dough and grease than this place is just for you.

One of the better pizza joints in our area. It’s also possibly the classiest interior, more like a high quality restaurant than an actual pizza joint. The pizza is quite good, not as good as the best thats actually in New York City(I lived and ate there for 21 years) but then again, no one else in our area is that good either. The pizza is thin and crispy just how I like it, its tasty and they offer a wide variety of quality toppings, we enjoyed everything we ordered at every visit. The only other pizzeria that competes head to head is Blaze Pizza but the nearest one is in San Jose so that doesn’t count. I found the prices to be high but that’s a common problem in this area, it’s hard to get a fair deal anymore. I suspect that when Blaze comes to Mountain View that Amici’s will face their first real competition. I’m not sure that is call it authentic New York pizza, as they do. The pizza is New York is fermented(we would call it sourdough), it’s baked in ovens that range from 900 to 1,100 degrees F(seriously, that’s why in NY they can get them out so quickly), they have a very thin crust which Amici does have but somehow in NY they have more texture and flavor, the tomato sauce in NY is Devine, they use the absolute best tomatoes and put a huge effort into cooking and seasoning it. Then finally, authentic NY pizza is actually Italian Neapolitan Pizza, from Naples Italy, so it has real buffalo mozzarella cheese on it and a drizzle of olive oil. The olive oil is necessary because of the insanely high temperatures they are baked at in NY, New Yorkers know to fold the slice in half, tilt it and allow the traditional waxed paper to catch any olive oil that runs off. The olive oil helps cook the top quicker so it’s ready when the crust is ready, it also adds a lovely flavor that I enjoy. What I found most surprising is their Chilled Broccoli(starters & sides), I’m not a broccoli fan and when my wife tried to get me to try it, I thought she was kidding. I tried it and surprisingly I actually like it and order it every time I patronize this pizzeria. It seems that it’s been slightly steamed then chilled, so it’s served cold. I know it doesn’t sound like much but it’s actually rather tasty when you dip it into the extra virgin olive oil and fresh lemon juice that’s served on the side. Try it, you might be surprised. I find their service excellent and have always been able to get a table quickly. The staff is friendly and helpful so the only reason I didn’t give them five stars is their high prices for pizza.

Don’t bother with delivery. Ordered pasta with meatballs, and what the heck, clicked on the $ 4 option for extra meatballs. Nope, they didn’t arrive. Also: Who delivers takeout pasta with no forks, knives, etc? Ever try eating pasta with your fingers? It’s a challenge but it can be done. Tried calling them, sat on hold for 20 min listening to the recording of how awesome they are. 2 Stars because the food is pretty good, but don’t bother with delivery.

The pizza is good. I came here because of a gift certificate had received after a bad experience at a different Amici’s. The prices are no where equivalent to the quality of the food… But it’s still good. The weird thing was that when I went, I had 2 different servers. The first server brought drinks and took the order, and the second came and dropped off our food and check. Even weirder, the second server never really came back after dropping off our food for a good 15 minutes and only came because our FIRST server noticed us looking around while she was eating at a table inside. Cute location. Good patio seating. I would like to try their pasta to see maybe that is what the rant and rave is for, but considering it is a pizzeria, the pizza could be better.

I liked their spinach salad and pastas here. The pasta is the right amount of al dente. My sister loves their pizza here. Their meatballs are also good here. Side note: their red pepper is spicy.

Ahh man, just when we were expecting a yummy pizza our pizza came all wrong… Our Milan pizza came all red flakes when we asked for half pepper. On addition our pizza was burnt. The crust is my favorite part and Ihad to throw it away…

Got take out; completely different experience compared to eating inside restaurant. I ordered white clam sauce, New York style, wings, and Caesar salad 100 $ purchase. Pizza was overlooked and was the wings :(Caesar salad was very small even when I ordered bigger portion. On the flip side; order came five minutes early! Would probably not get take out again and do not recommend!

Got a take-out pizza from here not too long ago, so time for a review. Amici’s serves very thin New York style pizza, which contrasts well with Blue Line. I ordered a large that was half sausage and half pineapple, with fresh basil and garlic throughout. The pizza was ready very quickly and the restaurant looked very nice and spacious on the inside. The pizza had a good balance of toppings(not too many) and a great aroma. It didn’t seem overly greasy either, always a danger for thin pizza. The large consists of eight slices, good for about two meals, as the pizza is pretty thin and light. My only real complaints are that the crust wasn’t memorable and that the spicy sausage had no kick at all to it, though the complimentary red pepper went a long way towards solving this problem. All in all, I was impressed by this place and will come back in the near future, as thin pizza just feels more ‘right’ in the summer months as opposed to heavier Chicago style.

I came here and got a table of six with some friends and we were greeted by a friendly waiter. He took awhile to get back to us and take our orders(maybe because he seated us at the furthest table in the restaurant). However, the pizzas were made rather quickly which was perfect because we were starving. We ordered three medium pizzas, each around $ 25.00: New Haven White Clam, Milano, and Philly. My favorite was the Milano because it had roasted yukon gold potatoes and I am a huge fan of potatoes! The pizzas were soft and had a relatively thin crust. I actually really like their tomato sauce(which was in the Philly) too. Although it was a bit expensive for pizza of that size, I think I would come again to try their other pizzas and entrees.

Not my favorite. It’s good but I just feel like if you are on Castro there are way better Italian and pizza places that will impress you. Don’t get me wrong I love amicis pizza but if you are looking for good pizza and pasta try somewhere else. I love the sausage and pep pizza I get it every time it’s really good but sometimes it’s hit or miss the breadsticks are great with ranch dipping. The service is great. Love the servers. Cooks are awesome I just am really not a huge huge fan

I love this place. I’ve only been to this location. Their clam white sauce pasta is my favorite! The caesar salad with anchovies is really good, too. Other good choices: good clam red sauce pizza, Margherita pizza, and their fully loaded baked potato pizza. Come with more people so you can try everything. They even have family sizes for their pastas, so bring the whole family~!

Pizza was burnt, doughy(yes, burnt and undercooked dough), and completely smashed up against the side of the box. I’ve seen a few delivery mishaps, but this one takes the pie. The panzanella salad was a joke. Bread was untoasted, no artichokes, pungent red onion, refrigerated grainy cherry tomatoes, a bland vinaigrette, and rotting lettuce. We just tossed it out. The bread sticks aren’t bread sticks. Not nearly enough marinara sauce to accommodate what was undercooked focaccia. I thought these were supposed to have garlic flavor to them? Then again, I thought they would be bread sticks. The linguine with marinara was a big sopping mess of nothingness. Not really sure I was expecting this to be life changing, but hopefully to taste better than overcooked pasta with a canned tomato sauce. My side of mustard italian dressing was also forgotten. They quoted a 30 minute delivery time, it took over an hour. The manager was kind enough to refund the pizza. All of us have written off Amici’s off our list, there is nothing good about this food unless you’re desperate for mediocre carbs.
