A great little neighborhood spot. The food is hearty and very fairly priced, and the service is always super friendly. It’s comfortable, delicious, and quick. Will be a regular!

What a nice surprise to find an old-style pizza parlor that knows how to put out good pizza! My slice was so delicious. The chicken was tasty, the tomatoes were fresh and both were in generous supply. Also, the crust was browned nicely on the bottom, so it could hold up without caving. Excellent slice, I will return!

This pizza is by far my favorite, and that includes pizza in the city!!! Love everything about it — the crust, sauce, cheese, toppings, just the right amount of grease… all totally delicious! Also excellent, fast, and always friendly service. Keep it up!

The best pizza in town. Calzones are tasty and huge. 16 inch heroes!!! Amazing!!! Chicken parm slice and spinach are my favorite!

I don’t get to go very often, but love their white pizza and spinach pizza. They have a really thin crisp crust… i don’t know how they do it but it’s my favorite crust. Both pizza mentioned above don’t have tomato sauce and I don’t miss it. So flavorful… buttery and garlicky.

I wasn’t expecting much, but I am very pleased with the slice I am eating right now.

This review is actually based on my son’s impressions of Scala. He LOVESIT! He also just outgrew an dairy allergy in the last few years(thankfully!) My son has tried the other local pizza places, and keeps returning to Scala. The slices are yummy, big, and satisfying. The place isn’t much to look at, but the staff is friendly. My son has been in enough times that they now recognize him and tease him a little bit. They also know to ask, «Want the usual?» They are very friendly and always treat my son with respect, which is not always the case when the customer is a teen. He has tried a few different slices here, but his favorite is just plain ol’ cheese… For less than $ 5 you can get a slice and two canned sodas. They also offer a variety of other options, but the pizza is the reason my son goes there. My only reason for not giving it five stars is that their«salad» pizza, which is cheeseless, is actually a premade cheese pizza from which they scrape of the cheese and then add the toppings(tomato and lettuce). So, if you are allergic to cheese or dairy, as I am, you won’t be able to eat their pizza at all. Too bad, because it smells AMAZING!

Based on one visit, I wouldn’t recommend it. The ingredients seemed good, but my pie was overloaded with cheese(flopped over in the middle!) when I got it. Taste was ok, the crust was decent, but overall felt it didn’t deliver. Price was decent. Safest bet is Joe’s around the corner.

My favorite pizza place in mount vernon ive been coming here since i was a kid. Their chicken parm pie = out of this world they give you these huge strips of it. Their calzones are really good but sometimes they could use a little marinara on the side. Usually throw in free garlic knots when you purchase a pie which is a small bonus. Its a good place to grab a quick slice and eat inside. Their chicken parm heros are HUGE!!! enough to feed two people for under 6 bucks.

This is a small pizza restaurant in Fleetwood with a larger than average number of varieties of pizza including white pizza by the slice. The pizza they serve is a standard NY style thin crust. While thin, the crust was too thick for my taste and there was very little bland sauce on the pizza. On the other hand, the cheese was excellent and perfectly portioned. This set the pizza apart somewhat from the other local places.

Scala has undergone some renovations in the past few years. A little cosmetically inside with new painting and some shingles to give it a more comforting feel. People rave about Joe’s and yes, Joe’s has great slices and a full dining room, but while you won’t mistake it for a sit down restaurant, it’s the food and great prices that keep me coming back. I am not exactly sure, but I think in the past two years there is an older woman there who may be doing the cooking. And the sauce… the sauce is absolutely addicting. I can eat a plate of it with bread and be satisfied. The meatballs and stuffed shells are excellent. Try any of the Parmesan hero’s, they are huge and can fill 2 people. I want some Scala’s right now!

Fleetwood, land of the dueling pizza places! Scala Pizza vs. Fleetwood Joe’s and the rest of them. I like Scala for the bigger slices, more flavorful sauce, display of tomatoes and mozzarella, and the fact that they put my takeout in its very own pizza box(whose contents I will promptly tote to the parking lot of the A&P/stoop of the nearest fake Tudor apartment building and consume).
