I started a new custom home project in Anacortes WA. I was then connected with Beth Bell for flooring and Cecil Jevons for cabinets. I would like to start off my describing myself & my project. My design was an industrial/​eclectic/​modern home and I am a first time builder, incredibly decisive, picky and a perfectionist. I had an exact look for what I wanted for each space, colors, textures and a style. I just needed someone to understand what I had in mind, out of all the overwhelming options (and boy are the unbelievably overwhelming) and be able to make my ideas tangible realities. Enter Beth…
Firstly, she is incredibly skilled in her art, she’s very patient, she’s a great listener, and SO personable. She gives time as if she is designing for her own home and I would not be surprised if she treats all her customers that way. She truly cares about the input she provides and always provides such a healthy and reasonable balance between a crazy idea and her expertise. LOL There were plenty of times when I had an idea that may have been a little too wacky, and she very intelligently and gently steered me away, (lol), into the right direction. The outcome? STUNNING. Every tile, floors and showers, back splash, accent tile, has turned out better than I could have imagined. Every single floor is my favorite. I have fallen completely in love with the floors we chose for the different spaces, as I walk into a room I think Man I wish I did this everywhere but then when I think about it, I realize I love them all just as equally and could not possibly replace any of them. I couldn’t have made better choices, and Beth could not have possibly been more helpful. She went completely out of her way, meeting me well after hours, on weekends, dropping off tile samples so that I can match paint colors, and other furnishings to the floors I picked out. When I described a type of tile, without pictures or any other reference, some how she would do her research and the next day find something that actually was exactly what I though existed only in my mind. She was so willing to meet hours for a time to just entertain my ideas and find the perfect fit for my spaces. Best example, I decided to change up the shower tile 1 day before installation she ordered new tile & had it delivered in24 hrs. From tiles, to accent tile, to trim, and grout color, every single detail was given so much importance and dedication. If the opportunity came up again, EVER without a doubt Beth would be my go to person. I know that NO ONE else could have provided as much guidance with so much artful skill and dedication to their work than she did.
Next– cabinets. I wanted to play with colors, textures and looks to give my spaces a personality. Believe it or not cabinets make a huge effect on any given space. Being in Anacortes, I was weary that someone would understand the look I was going for which not the typical traditional cabinets. ENTER CECIL. We had a discussion about the look I was going for, I would shoot words at him like ‘no red’, ‘dark brown but not black’, medium grain, plain front. he would present two options that exactly fit the description! The decisions were quick because he listened, he was open (aside from the occasional eyebrow raised disapprovals. which I appreciated), flexible and willing to go the extra 100 miles just to get an end result that fit what I was looking for but also with his expert input, an end result that would look aesthetically pleasing. Not just that, but the layout of the cabinets was very important to me. In every single space I wanted a certain placement. Cabinet ratio to drawers, glass front doors to normal wood front doors… etc. choosing which cabinet did what was crucial. He put all the thoughts together and diligently would email whenever I needed to see a design. He would always make the time to meet, even if I wanted to meet just review for the nth time :). All the cabinets have been installed now and just like the floors each cabinet style is my favorite. Even bathroom cabinets, I love the space because of the cabinets. I see a style and wonder why I didn’t do that one style in the WHOLE house, but again, I couldn’t have. Because I love every single style I chose. I don’t know which one I could possibly replace. The cabinets add so much richness and character to the home. I have achieved exactly the look I was going for. Already going into the home during construction almost every single sub-​contractor compliments the cabinets and the different textures that have been paired together. Everyone is curious to just check out all the spaces to see what is going on in each space.
This team, Both Beth and Cecil have helped me create a personality of this home which was truly in the depth of my mind. Their care, and their expertise helped make those ideas and very specific dreams a reality. I would 400% recommend none other but the two of them for your project né

Used Carpet One when building a spec home. Had them do my tile work, carpet and vinyl floor installation. The ladies on the floor were very helpful and patient with me when I was choosing colors and materials. They offered advice regarding cost, current trends and what items complimented each other.
The installation and schedule was another story. They had the same poor English speaking guy do all of the install work. He was LATE LATE LATE and inexperienced. The carpet and vinyl turned out fine (but late), but oh the tile. He was very inexperience in tile layout, didn’t bother centering up the tile, just started from one corner and went for it, this left little slivers of tile against one wall. I watched his work more carefully after this, gave clear instruction for what I wanted at the countertops and fireplace, had him re-​do the fireplace after failing to follow basic instruction (start in the middle, work out from there, keep it symmetrical). Further, he never arrived when he said he would (anywhere from 3 hours late to days late) and didn’t clean up after himself.
I was scheduled to have the job done in 3 days, it took over 2 weeks start to finish. This cost me an open house, a brokers open and possible sales. Pushed my final inspection out, etc. They even called me one morning to tell me the job was complete. So I went to the house, no one was there, and the carpet was still in a roll on the floor and the tile was still not finished. Just flat out liars. Will never use them again, would never recommend them unless you are just buying product. Do not use them for install.
