I gotta tell you, I thought they were toast when Eagle built the store that is now Lowes. I am happy to be wrong. What sets this place apart is the product knowledge employees have and the understanding of when to fix and when to recommend replacement. This is the place to go when you need that little wierd shaped thingy… It’s not Hardware Sales, but its only 5 minutes away and I’ve always found a way to get the things to un-​break whatever I was trying to fix… Oh Yeah, they have free popcorn…

W G. I have been going to Kaptien’s for almost 25 years so I don’t understand what inspired you to pass judgement so quickly. I have always been treated well and have always witnessed both women and men being treated honorably as well. The store is clean and well staffed. Sounds like you need a hug? They are great people and I like their plumbing supply as it is well stocked with hard to find items. When I need something I can always count on Kaptien’s to have what I need.

I always get such great service here… and they carry the coolest stuff! I needed a small screw/​washer to match another on a light that broke. There must be a hundreds of different screws/​sizes/​metric vs. not etc. The woman who helped me was amazing. She figured out exactly what I needed in no time flat and even assembled it on my light for me! While I was waiting someone else helped me find something else that was on my shopping list. Love this place.

It’s always amazing to me that this store (which is comparatively so much smaller than Lowes or Home Depot) has so much stuff. But the real difference is how helpful the staff is. Typically, you will be assisted by multiple people while walking through the store. Easily one of the most helpful, efficient businesses in the entire area.

I went in there the first time because my husband asked me to pick up something. A young girl that worked there looked at me as if she hated me. She was grumpy and unfriendly. I told my husband about that. He said when his mother visited there and was treated very badly too. He is the only one that gets good treatment there. He believes that store only welcomes men. What a sexist store! I will never go in that store anymore.

I go here once a week. Rarely been disappointed. Staff today worked hard to get me the best deal on furnace filters. Always a pleasure shopping at ACE.

Bow, WA
These guys are the best hardware store in three counties. They are friendly, helpful, and surprisingly well stocked with inventory. The staff goes out of their way to help you (unlike the two big hardware stores where they go out of their way to avoid you.) They have a better fastener department than Lowes and Home Despot combined. I just special ordered a water heater from them that will take two days to arrive. The other two quoted me between 14 to 25 days. I take my business to Kaptien’s Ace any time I can. They are just south of College Way on the east side of Riverside. I bet you barely get in the door before someone offers to help you.
