So my building recommends me these guys. I never call them. I called two other companies that some friends recommended me. One of the two blew me off the other made a site visit and gave me a high quote. I reluctantly chose them and the day of the move they are running late. 2 hours go by and no movers. I’m extremely irritated to say the least, seriously. I need to be out of my old place and these other movers literally are leaving me hanging. 3 hours pass and still no movers. My GF is getting really upset. So I decided to call Evom (I should of called them the first time they were recommended). I spoke to Gjon and basically explained my situation. A complete gentleman. He put me on hold to see if he could get his team and truck over to my building. He says to me he would have his team there in one hour and 30 minutes if this was fine with me. My GF screaming over my shoulder while I’m on my cell YES YES come (she’s way too loud) So we book Gjon and his team.
They showed up — two guys and a driver. It must of been the fastest move we have ever seen. We had a JR4 in a midtown doorman building. Big space. They wrapped up everything, dollyed all the boxes, and loaded all this and our furniture in less then 3 hours. As this was happening the other movers showed up literally right about when we were finished. They explain sorry we’re late to my GF and me. My GF starts yelling at them your almost 6 hours late and you expect us to wait for you!!! Your fired!!! She says. I think she watched too many Apprentice shows. These other movers are pissed and started staring down Evom’s team. But Evom’s team didn’t pay it no attention and just said we will see you in Westchester.
We all get there. They unload it faster then they loaded it.
They took care of our belongings. Are respectful, polite, and very professional. It was the best experience we have ever had. This is how moving should be.

They were an hour late, haggled their way up $ 300, and finished only ¹⁄₃ of the job. They are thieves and if this stops them from doing the same thing to someone else then its good enough for me. Now I have to go make sure they didn’t steal any of the stuff they actually moved.
Before they even finished loading my stuff the guy, Gjon, began haggling and asked for $ 300 extra. I agreed but didn’t pay the extra until they come and finish the job two days later which included junk removal. Now I’m out $ 750 for a job others offered to do for $ 400. Basically they took $ 750 to move 10 – 12 medium boxes from midtown west to midtown east. The junk removal was the main reason I decided to hire a moving company, now I have to pay another company and possibly pay fines to my landlord.
Moral of the story avoid these people and never pay cash.
Now I’ll go to BBB and Small Courts claim.

Gjon and his movers at Evom movers did a fantastic job with our move! My two friends and I were moving into a three bedroom apartment in NYC. I was coming from NJ and my friends were moving from NYC. We had a tight window to move into our new place. Gjon and his guys picked up our stuff the night before, kept it in a safe location and then moved all of our stuff the next day. Everything was in good condition, the guys worked fast and efficiently and there were no hidden fees. For an added (reasonable) price Gjon de-​assembled an armoire that I needed to make a wall for my flex room and reassembled it in the apartment on move in day. He then came on an additional day to assemble a new piece I had purchased to complete my wall– such a life savor. These guys are honest, Hardworking and reasonably priced. You will be in great hands!

Gjon and his movers did a great job. They were extremely accommodating, especially since my move was a two-​day job. Gjon meticulously took the time to disassemble and re-​assemble all of our furniture and additionally, helped with the set-​up in my new apt. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him and his team again!

I had a great moving experience. Gjon and his team were genuinely fantastic people and most importantly efficient. Worked together well with with very large and extremely heavy furniture. Truly nice people who know how to do their job well. HIGHLY recommend!

Professional, timely, and responsible. Highly recommend them. I moved to nyc recently and they got all my furniture in in a timely manner. They’re very responsive when my building manager requested more paperwork to enter my building. Overall they were great and is highly recommend.

What a wonderful personal touch. They take amazing care of your belongings. I would recommend this company to everyone!
