Chicken Hut

Been coming to chicken hut since high school in the late eighties. Always the same here. Greasy, nasty, a sucession of rude, incompetent pricks behind the counter. You have to check your order before you leave to make sure they got it right. You also have a good chance of running into aggressive neighborhood locals here. So be aware of that. Also the parking situation sucks. This place is basically any inner city NYC hood type locale.
So why in the hell am I giving it 4 stars??? If you hit chicken hut right… as in when the chicken just comes out of the oil… then you’re in for a treat. They use a healthy dose of black pepper in the recipe. It gets infused into the meat by the hot oil. The result is exceptional fried chicken if consumed when hot. It does not refrigerat well.
Enjoy, but BE AWARE of where you are. Don’t flash cash.

ok the stars are for convenience. pretty much always open and the chicken tenders are bomb… maybe I just have the munchies a lot. when I feel like a fat day– this is the spot, especially if you want some cheese fries. and it doesn’t really get any cheaper.
6 tenders and cheese fries for 7.50? sure, my arteries are clogged and I’ll hate myself tomorrow but mmm mmm
