This place is near my hous, I sometime go to this place with my little brother. There are a lot of little kids around, it’s fun for my bro. The snack is overpriced, they really know how to do business.

Great for toddlers to about 5⁄6 year olds. Once the older kids start running around, it can be a little nerve-racking. Like others said, it’s fun, but only for a few hours. The snack bar has some decent food, but overpriced as you could imagine. The park/water itself is pretty dirty, from all the little kids. I saw a few band-aids floating around and who knows how much urine is in there. Both times I’ve been with my family, I’ve gotten really sick a day or two later. Might be coincidence, but it was severe. The one thing that really struck me as odd was the senior citizen discount sign on the snack bar. I don’t know if it is meant to be a joke, but if not, that is sad. It says something like«Patrons over the age of 85 receive a 1% tax break on purchases»…how generous of them.

If you have small kiddos, I’d say maybe 8 years old and younger, it’s a good time… for them. I’ve taken my niece here a couple of times now, last summer when she was 5 and then again last week with her now being 6. She has a blast BUT it’s only entertaining for about 3 hours worth. Admittedly, I may be a bit biased because I grew up in Atlanta with a White Waters right down the road from me. I spent my summers at this park and it never got old. And though I’m much older, I’d still like for Charleston to finally get a decent water park.(Side note: Whirlin Waters is definitely a step up but still severely lacking in how many rides they have) Here’s the good: Great location. I like the fact that it’s within Palmetto Islands County Park. You get to walk across bridges, see some nature and if you have enough time afterwards, you can walk a trail or just hang out in the park. It also seems pretty safe. They have a lot of workers/lifeguards, pretty much all of them in their teens or early twenties, that do an excellent job monitoring everyone. What little they do offer seems to be fun for the kiddies. But that brings me to the not so good… There’s just not a lot going on. Basically, there’s a splash area that has waterfalls and a baby slide, a really small lazy river… err pool, a slightly bigger set of 4 slides, and then one tube slide for the bigger kids. Last year, my niece was too short for the big slide and we both were really hoping she’d get to ride this year since that’s the one thing we’d both have the most fun on. Unfortunately, she was about half an inch too short and they wouldn’t let her go on it. Total bummer but I can’t really hold that against them because they’re probably strict with that sort of thing. But still, sucks being given the no dice by a 15 year old with a giant ruler. So since she couldn’t go on the big slide, she was left to go on the smaller slide over and over and over again. Then she’d go to the lazy river. Then to the waterfalls. Back to the slide. Back to the lazy river. Back to the slide. And you get my drift. She had to keep switching it up to keep herself entertained. Cost was $ 13(plus $ 2 gate fee) for the both of us. Was it worth it? To me, notsomuch. To her, of course, she’s a 6 year old who has no concept of money. However, they do have discounts for certain days/times that I’d definitely take advantage of. For example, it’s $ 5 per person after 3pm any day(although that only gives you 3 hours to play).

Pretty good water park for kiddies. Saw some teenagers that looked out of place. Good place for parents to splash around with the younger children. Plenty to entertain the kids while the parents hang out and a pretty big area of open pool space that only goes 4′ at the deepest part. Of course come early if you want a shady spot but I think that’s any water park.
