This is a limited review as I’ve only been through the drive up and have only purchased a cold beverage! After living here 3 years, I unexpectedly found myself pulling into Metto one afternoon this past summer. Actually, I’ve passed it a hundreds of times but with no entrance on busy Coleman, I never bothered to check it out. I was heading back home after leaving Trader Joe’ s, and was very, very thirsty, but, didn’t want to park and go into Starbucks … it was just too hot. With a few cars ahead of me, I began to slow down for the red light at the intersection. Then, like a mirage, I noticed a sign on Lansing Rd. indicating a driveway to the drive-up window.(Though the sign didn’t indicate the name of the business I figured the worst that could happen was I’d be behind My Three Dogs.) Well, I meandered around the parking lot and found myself at the Metto point of sale. While looking over the large selection of beverages on the menu board, I could not believe my eyes … my absolute fav … Italian Soda … plus, a decent selection of sugar free syrups … and, the price? … just $ 2.75 for a medium … which is the equivalent of a Venti at Starbucks. While there were a few cars in front of me, the line moved quickly. Up at the window, I appreciated that the attendant asked me to taste the beverage to be sure it was to my liking before I tendered the sale. It was delicious … icy cold and tasted almost custardy … just the way I love it! When she returned with my change and receipt, she handed me a frequent customer card with a heart stamped on my first visit. Well, I’ve been back 15 times … always for an an Italian Soda. Sometimes, I have it prepared with a mix of SF raspberry and SF vanilla … it’s always perfect. That being said, Metto is not your best option if you have to guarantee your time of arrival, be it for work, or, for an appointment, where your punctuality is essential. On several occasions, I’ve had just a few cars in front of me at the window waiting for pick up and have waited for as long as 12 minutes. But, please don’t let this turn you off because once they apologize for the wait, you’ll be so, so satisfied after that first sip.

Metto is on my drive to many of meetings or is my stop for meetings when it is a nice day out. They have a great little patio that doesn’t make you feel it’s right on Coleman. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because sometimes the wait can be a little long. However it is a great little spot and the do having amazing dirty chai tea lattes! It is a must try!

Metto is now right around the corner from me so I’ve been going fairly often now. After doing more than just stopping in for a meeting, I’ve been trying the food, swinging through the drive-thru, and sampling more of the coffee menu. Everything’s been good, but I have to say that I’ve had multiple trips with poor to terrible customer service. It’s not always, but too many times to ignore. I’ve had some major issues with the drive-thru taking forever, getting the wrong order, or just not acknowledging that you’re there at all. Most recently, I came in and wasn’t really paying attention to the time. I asked for a breakfast sandwich and was told they were no longer serving breakfast. After I sat down, I realized that because the person in front of me took a while deciding what he wanted, it was one minute after the hour when I got to the counter to place my order. I didn’t even say anything at that point because I had already sat down to a meeting, but that’s just poor service. Hopefully they’ll get it together in there.

Thanks Metto! I visited this place today for the first time, and it was fantastic! I LOVED my chai tea latte and the ambiance was perfect for a long chat, except for a few clunks and clings of a ladder when they were changing a light bulb. It was a very nice afternoon hang out.

Love this place! I’ve been going here almost on a weekly basis for months and no matter what time of day it is I know I can count on a great latte or cup of coffee — BUT have to say this morning I went in there(drive-thru) and made a long, annoying order — I ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees to go — delicious!!! I highly recommend their chicken salad. You get A LOT of sandwich! We could have ordered one and split but I’m already excited for our leftovers :) My order took a bit but they were wonderful, patient and super friendly as always.

Way better than Starbucks! Service was decent, although maybe they could have used one more person at the counter so it wasn’t a single person doing the drive thru and walk in customers. We grabbed sandwiches, which were ok as well. Sitting out on the deck under the huge tree was PERFECT.

I always want to give local places a try, however, despite how hard I try, I just don’t love Mettos coffee. The atmosphere and the people are good though, plus they have some good bakery items.

We ordered 2 everything bagels with egg n cheese .and it felt like they were soaked in salt. .the egg was the saving grace but the bagels were awful Both the bagels were salty. .they were take away to eat on our drive and opened them to being uncut so all the egg is all over the place. . No tissues no bag so much for a take out..

I tried the Iced honey latte here and it was great. There is no bitter after taste and it is smooth. I went through the drive thru and it was a pleasant experience. I will definitely be back again!

The iced honey latte and espresso bran muffin are amazing. I drive from downtown to get these. Nice to go to a small business coffee shop and avoid crap like Starbucks.

I love supporting local buisnesses. The staff at Metto are great. The coffee is always prepared with great attention to detail. The baked goods are delicious. The location is great with a giant tree growing out of the patio. Nice location to sit back and relax.

I’ve been coming to Metto for years and used to love it. I’ve always loved that they have a drive-thru which makes it super convenient. I’m a sucker for their raspberry iced mocha. Unfortunately, my past few experiences haven’t been very good. On two separate occasions I have visited the drive-thru, only to find that they’ve randomly closed early for«maintenance.» Maybe putting that on the sign out front would be helpful before I stop in?! My other recent experience was having my order(raspberry iced mocha) made wrong 3 different times in a row. 3! I have to say I am disappointed in Metto these days. If you go, I would recommend going inside to order and sitting out on the cute patio.

I’ve been to Metto several times and I usually just hit the drive-thru. This place is one of the hidden gems in Mount Pleasant. You can get great coffee at pretty reasonable prices. I can’t speak for their food because I’ve never had it. The thing I love about Metto is the laid-back vibe. I can’t stand the pretentious feel of some of the coffee shops in town. If you’re anti-pretentious, go to Café Metto!

I used to LOVE Metto, as it is super close to my house and has chai lattes that are equal to, if not better than Collective Coffee’s. I also love double-stamp Mondays and earning free coffee! Oohh, having a drive-thru is great too!(Until you visit Metto, pull into the drive-thru lane and find an out of service sign on the machine. Guess what?! Now you’re entrapped in a long line! Hmm, could something not be posted before guests drive into the lane which has no exit to escape from?) Unfortunately, the last 2 times I have been there — the service was really slow and my order was wrong. I always get egg and cheese on an everything bagel(better get there early, cause they’ve run out multiple times) and a chai latte. I’ve recently(in the drive-thru, mind you, therefore not realizing my order was wrong until I’d driven elsewhere) received a bacon and egg croissant, as well as a turkey and cheese bagel. *Face Palm* I don’t eat meat. The ginger latte that was mistakenly made once was also not a pleasant surprise. *Sigh* I really, really want to love Metto because of its convenience and my positive experiences there in the past, but when I start having consistently disappointing meals, it’s time to go elsewhere. If you do go, I recommend ordering inside(and staying to dine on the cute, little patio). I also encourage you to leave a review so I know when it’s safe to come back!

Hey Metto, croissants are round… and usually flaky. You should try the coffee but don’t be tempted by the faux-food menu… run. They do NOT take any pride in it. I ordered the almost-croissant and what I got was a burned tube of crusty bread, unseasoned eggs, floppy bacon and a stiff, cold piece of cheese straight off of the wax paper in the fridge. Gross. You’re better off going to the gas station next door and getting some yogurt for breakfast. I’m sure you’ll have a better time and won’t pay $ 5 for unappetizing nonsense. They actually have decent coffee there too. The mood is a little depressing as well. IMHO.

PROS They have coffee They have free wi fi A couple chairs have padding CONS A very mediocre feeling coffee shop Often are out of baked goods(esp gluten free items) Quite possibly the world’s most annoying«baristo» works here; a 37 going on 14 year old man with no control over his obnoxious mouth For better coffee check out Collective For friendly coffee shop staff service… you might have to go downtown :(

Metto has, hand down, no contest, the best iced chai tea latte around. It is so delicious, with a perfect proportion of milk/tea and is excellently spiced. The baked goods are fresh and delicious and sell out fast in the mornings! My only caveat would be, if you see more than one car in the drive through and you are in a hurry, be warned. There drive through can be incredibly slow sometimes.

Creative coffee artists Attentive staff Drive Thru Window Indoor and outdoor seating They see local photographs(Wait, every coffee shop does that). A fine selection of wraps, quiches and baked goods. Prime Mount Pleasant location(Coleman Blvd) — Hop, skip and a jump to Trader Joes, Juanitas, Triangle and more… A bulletin board full of business cards. What more do you need.
