Nice and clean hotel. Staff very friendly with a very good attitude. There is a Applebee’s and a gas station around witch is very helpful. Good place.

I don’t know why they call this one an «Express» because it was pretty darned«Deluxe» when I recently stayed there. Mt. Pleasant is not much of a town to go out of your way to visit, but if you happen to find yourself doing so, this Holiday Inn is a great place in which to stay. In short, the rooms are spacious, beautiful, clean and comfortable. Each room has giant TVs(that’s TELEVISIONS, for the filthy minded amongst you) with lots of channels, very fast high speed wi-fi, microwaves, good sized fridges and high-tech shower heads in the bathrooms, too. The lobby and incredibly large breakfast room(everything’s big in Texas!) were both wonderfully appointed to the point of being almost luxurious. With the plush chairs & couches and beautiful tables and lamps, the peaceful atmosphere and chill hang of these areas make for great and private spaces to socialize when not in your room. Speaking of breakfast, I’ve never seen such a spread as I had when experiencing their complimentary breakfast buffet! I’m not much of a breakfast person, but this stuff all looked so great I just had to dig in. They feature scrambled eggs, cheese omelets, sausage patties, bacon, biscuits with sausage gravy, fresh cinnamon rolls, a bunch of different coffees and teas, 4 different juices, fruits, muffins, breads & cereals and much more that I’m sure I missed in my early morning fog. They even provide special takeout containers for you to pack it all up to go! That really came in handy for my 2+ hour bus trip to the Dallas airport from which I was leaving that morning. Plus, this stuff wasn’t your everyday breakfast bar garbage. It was all fresh, tasty and wholesome food that was actually much better than what you’d find in most restaurants, even. The staff are also quite friendly and accommodating. When we unfortunately discovered that the only bar within walking distance(Appleby’s [Ugh!]) next door closed at 10PM, they gave us detailed directions to a couple of joints that stayed open late outside this nearly teetotalling county. A very enjoyable experience all around thanks to these guys in a town that might otherwise have been a complete downer.
