They have really delicious cupcakes and treats to sample. Wonderful place and such friendly people.

We really wanted to like their products. To begin, they are super friendly! That earns a couple of stars, easy. They kindly offered a sample of their chocolate covered pecans, which were, in fact, the best part of our samplings. We found all of the bakery items we sampled to be too firm, bordering on dry, and quite honestly, although these were each a different flavor, they(the cakes), tasted much alike. To try and explain, the cupcake texture reminded me of day-old banana bread. So, not dry, like old dry. Just a dry-er over-all texture(body) Does that make sense? So, just not our preference. Interestingly, even the cinnamon roll with bacon inside, also was not very moist, and had a comparable base texture.

We ordered cupcakes for a gender reveal party, the owners are very nice people, they did exactly what we wanted and shared in the excitement. The cupcakes were awesome and made from scratch(the wife pointed out you could actually see pieces of vanilla bean in the frosting… super legit treats). This is the type of company we like to support.

Just left his bakery and the owners were really nice. This place is very welcoming and the cupcakes are great. I got the lemon pond cake, two of my favourite things, and the peanut butter chocolate which was amazing. I was told it was one of the favourites, will be coming back!

Stopped in as I heard raving reviews… I gave 3 stars as service was pleasant but I found the actual taste of the red velvet and chocolate not as exciting as I had envisioned making the 30 min drive to get there. I always give a place a benefit of doubt so I may try on another day.

I found Short Cakes Cakery while searching online for a bakery that would deliver a cake to my Mom for her birthday(I live in CA). I went to their website and loved their story. They had so many cupcake flavors to choose from including my Mom’s favorite — wedding cake. I called in hopes to get more information and expected a college aged or high school student to answer the phone. Instead, I got Derrick. He was so sweet and even threw in festive wrapping for the box. The delivery fee was incredibly reasonable and he told me he would deliver them himself. He delivered drying the time he quoted me AND my Mom LOVED every single bite!!! I am putting Shirt Cake Cakery on speed dial. Will never call another bakery in Mt. Juliet!

Stopped in today to give Short Cakes a try. My wife and I had a hankerin’ for a cupcake and since we drive-by a lot, figured we’d check it out. I’m SO glad we did!!! First and probably most importantly, the lady behind the cases of delicious cupcakes was super nice to us. She told us about each of the cupcakes and was just a genuinely pleasant person. Second, the cupcakes. We got a banana pudding, chocolate peanut butter, vanilla bean, and yin yang cupcake. I am obsessed with banana pudding so I went in for that one first. I seriously said outloud, « .God.» It was so good. Now, most commercial cupcakes you see have an insane amount of frosting on them but this one had just enough for it to not be overly sweet. So I find that kinda perfect. I had the same«oh my God» reaction to bites of the other ones. Best cupcakes I’ve ever had… hands down. Third, the price was super great. Seriously. I never go to Gigi’s or the like because I simply cannot justify spending $ 4 – 5 on a cupcake. Short Cake’s cupcakes were all under $ 2 a piece! Fourth, THEYDELIVER! not sure if there’s a minimum order or not but either way, good to know! I will seriously be back and I hope they continue to grow because these are without question the best cupcakes I’ve ever had.

I ordered a dozen cupcakes in 4 different flavors for a bridal shower at my sister’s request. I personally have never been a big fan of most commercial cupcakes because I prefer the cake over the icing and most cupcake places load on too much artificially-flavored stuff just to make it look good. However, this place changed my mind! You notice right away these are a little different… they look, well, like real home-baked cupcakes instead of the fancy fluff at most stores. Don’t get me wrong, they look delicious, just normal-sized and not overly-processed. Then you taste them and OMG! Everyone at the party raved about them. We ended up splitting all cupcakes into ¼ths to share so everyone got to try each flavor. Surprisingly, the one I thought I’d like least(white chocolate raspberry) turned out to be the group favorite. We also tried the Lava Flow, German Chocolate, and Mr. Grey, plus a slice of caramel cake and some fruit tea. All were spectacular, and even my sister(a baker herself and a cupcake-nut) agreed they were the best ever. Bonus — they are much less expensive that most cupcake stores at under $ 2 each(a little more if you want specialty like sugar-free). They will now be my go-to for parties or just-because! Thank you Short Cakes! *** Update. Ordered again for another party. 3 new flavors, all minis, including the Bacon Cake, Red Velvet, and Backwards Turtle. Once again, they were a huge hit. Everyone was skeptical about the bacon one, but true to the description, they taste like the most amazing pancakes with frosting and only a hint of bacon. My husband is a huge fan of red velvet and went gaga over these. We got plenty of extras and gave them as parting gifts to our guests, who were beyond thrilled and asked for the stores contact information. ***

HOLYYUMMYYUM! I have been trying to get here for sometime now. Since I work, it’s not easily accessible after 10 am to get cupcakes… But, if you can squeeze in some time… DOIT! You will not be sorry! The most delish cupcakes EVER! The ladies who work here are sweet as can be too! A total delight in our community! Try the Chocolate and Peanut Butter… MMMmmmmmmmm! Careful, there is a «make out» session in your future!

This bakery serves THEBEST cupcakes I have ever tasted and I eat more sweets than I probably should. The staff is always friendly. If you haven’t tried the peanut utter and chocolate cupcake you are missing out. I buy a variety for my staff pretty often and they are always super excited when I walk into the office with those cupcakes! Look for this business to sky-rocket. Hopefully they’ll put a location in Murfreesboro soon.

This review is based on 1 cupcake. The banana pudding one. Oh. My. God. It was delicious! A woman at work brought a few different flavors in today and that’s the one I picked. It tasted just like banana pudding. The cake part tasted like vanilla wafers and the icing was just the right amount and tasted like real bananas, not artificial flavoring. I know nothing about the store itself and any other flavors, but that one cupcake impressed me enough to want to go check them out and experience more. Updated review to come!!!

We stopped into Short Cakes to grab a dozen cupcakes for a friends bday. Not being from Nashville and knowing nothing about the local vendors, we took a chance on Short Cakes. We were not disappointed, but I cannot say we were blown away either. That is mostly because not all of the flavors that we purchased were great. Some of them were a little dry, while others were delicious. Our personal favorites were the Vanilla Bean and the Mardi Gras(cant think of the exact name.) A few of the other flavors were a little too bland for our liking. I think they are a fairly new business so I wouldn’t write them off just yet. If I am ever back in the area, I would give them another shot at redemption because they are nice people and they seem to at least be on the right track… just need to work a few kinks out.

Short Cakes Cakery is the place to go if you want the best cupcake you’ve ever tasted. I’m not even exaggerating. We just happened to wander in there on their first day of operation, and we purchased 6 cupcakes in different flavors. We didn’t try one until we got home, but I’m telling you, we were blown away. I had the Short Cake cupcake first, which is a strawberry shortcake cupcake, and it was amazing. It’s made with pound cake like you’ve never tasted. Since then, we’ve been back 2 more times(in 4 days, no less!) and I know the owners must think we’re nuts. But everything we’ve tasted is so good that we want to try them all! The owners are incredibly sweet, friendly folks, who seem to genuinely care about their customers and strive to make quality products. Nycole will make special orders for you, even if it’s not a flavor she’s planning to offer that day. And, if you want more icing(I never do), she’ll gladly pile it on for you. They offer over 40 different flavors(!!), and so far, I’ve tried 9 of them, and they are all incredible. I love that they don’t pile the icing on twice as high as the cake, like so many other gourmet places do. To me, the cake is where the artistry is and the icing should be a delicate compliment. Short Cakes gets it perfectly in my opinion. Another awesome thing about this business is that they’re open to suggestions from customers. If you suggest a flavor combination that Nycole can successfully make, she will name the cupcake flavor after you! I know the owners have lots of ideas for additions to their business and I look forward to seeing what all they will offer. But for now, the cupcakes and Deep South Fruit Teas(oh yeah, these are amazing too!) are all that’s needed. Please drop in to Short Cakes and support local Mt. Juliet businesses. You won’t be disappointed! And just FYI, the strawberry shortcake cupcake is still my favorite!
