The Side Bar & Grill

No mall food vendors had sated me since Lefty’s was taken over by the pizzeria, so I went in to The Side Bar not expecting much, but this place turned out to be really good! They’ve even expanded the menu quite a bit since they opened (their jalepeño poppers are delicious!). Decent wait times and the portions are generous. I usually split a burger with my husband since the burgers are so large (I highly recommend the Crispy Bacon Ranch Chicken or the Scrapyard burger!) and they still give both of us a full portion of (delicious) fries on both plates. Their fry sauce tastes like it may have a hint of horseradish in it, which makes for a very unique, surprisingly tasty flavor.
Very casual, relaxed atmosphere. Nice place to grab a quick bite before browsing the rest of the mall.

Hands down he best burger in Moscow. The beef if not a flat, previously frozen patty! My husband and I both had the Steak and Swiss mushroom stuffed burger and it was wonderful. Definitely hit the spot! My new favorite burger joint!

I was blown away by how unprofessional the service staff was here yesterday. My friend and I came here with my two young children because the menu looked interesting. After being told to sit wherever we waited and waited and waited. No acknowledgment, no one getting our drink order, not even a look our way. Finally after the three servers kept passing us by and my children kept growing more restless, I walked up to the cashier counter and asked if we had to place our order here at the register. The girl said no and went over to talk to the other two girls. You could see that they knew they messed up, but still nobody came to take our order. We had it. Packed up the kids and started walking out. Rather than any kind of apology because I knew it was a mistake, I assume they didn’t not serve us on purpose, they completely turned around and acted like they didn’t see us. Turned their heads as we were walking by. Wow! We left and ate at the pizza place down the hall. The service there is great. This could have been handled so much better, but there’s no way I’ll be going back. At least not until their service staff gets trained in hospitality and customer service properly.

This is my first choice for a burger in Moscow and Pullman. Prices are reasonable and they have Rogue Dead Guy Ale on tap (I hope that never changes). The only downside is that you have to go sans-​Dead Guy if the weather is nice and you want to sit outside.

«Have you eaten at the sidebar?» is a phrase you hear a lot when people talk about food in this town. I’ve heard people wax eloquent describing the hand battered onion rings or the hand cut fries with truffle salt (a personal favorite) And the burgers oh what burgers they make. From the simple bacon and cheese to the exotic curry stuffed burger with mango chutney and cabbage or jalapeño popper burger with cream cheese jalapeño and bacon inside each starts by getting the burger right and then building on that. I seem to go there a couple of times a month.

After seeing the cool atmosphere of this place after multiple times of walking by, we finally decided to give it a try and were blown away. This is now our go-​to place for burger and fry fare.
I ordered the Vandal burger and my husband had the Irish corned beef wrap. Both were so tasty! The burger was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of deliciously spicy Vandal sauce. The fries came in a very generous portion and were so fresh and perfectly seasoned.
The wrap was huge and very tasty with blue cheese, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, parmesan pepper sauce (YUM), and of course a generous portion of corned beef. The flavors worked so well together!
We did order the bacon-​topped chili cheese fries for an appetizer and cleaned the plate (literally) within a few minutes! Again, very generous portion.
The prices are comparable to Applebee’s, and the food is about a thousand times better. You can taste the love and quality in the food!

I don’t even know where to start! This place is so good. Their Double Downer Burger might be the best Burger I’ve had and I’ve had some pretty good, this blew them out of the water.
It’s not greasy at all which is amazing!
Their fries are amazing! My friends and myself consider our selves fry connoisseur and we agree they are great.

Great place! My family of 6 all had a yummy lunch. Great fries, burgers and kid menu. Friendly and fast service. Gluten free buns available.

I love, love, love this place! My friend and I split the corned beef sandwich it was amazing. Some restaurants frown on splitting a meal or they charge you additional. Not the Sidebar our half of sandwich was served on our own plate with an extra helping of fries. The fries are home made and the salad bar was fresh and had a great variety.

Delicious food, great atmosphere, priced to sell beer, and a really nice server. «Thank you so much» «you’re welcome so much», ha! I’ll be going back.

Love this place! I’ve been twice and both times it was great. I had the Crispy Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich the first time with fresh cut fries. The second time I had the Southwest Stuffed Burger (think a great burger stuffed with jalapeño slices and bacon). I have taken my kids with me both times. It has a street entrance and a mall entrance so I think that keeps the environment pretty kid friendly. There is a kids’ menu as well.
