Not only the best Thai around but by far the BESTFOOD around! I haven’t had anything this good in a long time. The yellow curry with chicken has an amazing flavor and the red curry with beef provided the spicy zing i was looking for. Of course you have to get some pot stickers. They are fast and friendly too! Highly recommended. If a place is packed on a Tuesday night during a snowstorm, you know it must be good.

My husband and I love Thai food and are always searching for options in the Chicago area. We stumbled upon Lai Thai and thought the food was very delicious. The restaurant seating was small but comfortable. Service was good and pretty quick. We ordered Chicken Pad See Ew, egg rolls and Thai Basil beef. Only wish… larger portions.

Friendly, efficient, tasty food. The dining area is stylish, comfortable spacious seating. The menu is classic Thai. The food is well-spiced and fresh. The servers are completely in tune with what you want and how you want it. Coming here, you can expect your favorite entrée, perhaps a slight variation(as true of all good restaurants), but definitely very good.

Lai Thai’s Thai food was a typhoon of tasty flavors. Say that three times in a row. You may not be saying it now, but you sure will be afterwards. Having not eaten any phenomenal Thai food in a long while, my fiancé decided that the only way to cheer me up from a long day was to take me to Lai Thai so that I could experience some good olé Thai curry for the first time ever. I’ve had plenty of Pad See Ew and the like, but never have I ever had Thai curry. If you haven’t had any Thai curry before then beware that it’s not like the thicker curry that you’ll find at Indian restaurants like TAVA located right next door. No, instead the Thai curry is of thinner consistency because it is made with coconut milk. I’m thinking that if you’re in the mood for curry you have to first determine how pregnant you’d like to feel — if on a scale of 1 to 10 you say 5 or 6 then Thai curry is probably best whereas if you said 12 or 13 on a scale of 1 to 10 you’d probably being heading to an Indian restaurant. You get my drift? If not, let me break it down for ya: you’ll be like Goldilocks and just full enough by eating the Thai curry. Anyways, now that I’ve gone off on a tangent, let me just say that the curry was delicious. I had ordered the pineapple shrimp curry with sweet peppers and it was delightfully good. It had a very sweet flavor to it, but it also had a bit of a bite to it, but since I’ve been building up my tolerance to heat I was quite alright with this. The other bonus that you’ll find here is that rice is automatically included in the curry that you order and when all is said and done, it’s only about $ 10 for all of that. That’s definitely a deal worth a happy dance. You know what else is cause for a happy dance? Their Thai tea and fried ice cream. Their Thai tea is some of the best that I tasted and their fried ice cream was totally awesome. This was the first time I’d had fried ice cream and they do it up right here so if you haven’t tried it elsewhere you should get it here. With everything I just listed with the addition of a cup of jasmine tea our bill was only $ 18 before tip — can you say a cheap date? And in this case, a cheap date isn’t such a bad thing. Besides the obviously amazing food, we also received great service and the food came out much faster than expected, especially given that the entire restaurant was full… and this was on a Sunday night! It’s not too big of a restaurant so it’s easy to see how it gets crowded quickly, but it seems to be a place that is frequented by many people no matter the day. Everything was top-notch and with that I will say my adieu’s with these sentiments: «that’s all she wrote!»

Good food for a strip mall. Take out seems to be popular. Not much of a décor but very clean and neat. The food was good, plenty of choices to pick from, and consistent quality and quantity across what we ordered. If you’re hungry for some Thai food and aren’t looking for ambiance to accompany your dining experience, this is the place! My rating is in reference to similar restaurants in this category.

This restaurant is a hidden gem in a strip mall; it’s probably the best Thai food in the area. Whether you dine-in or carry out the service is prompt and courteous. My favs are their pad thai, curry chicken, and their thai basil chicken. Great flavor that’s not over the top. A wide variety of Thai food; have to come back for more.

This place is good and has fairly decent prices. I’d recommend the Golden Bags(crab Rangoon) it has a lot of crab meat compared to the ones that have more cream cheese so if you’re into that I’d say go for it. We also had the pad se ew and Thai curry rice both were good not bad not great simply good. Both had beef and I will say it looked a little weird for me so I just went around it and ate the noodles and rice which we’re just okay nothing special. If you’re looking for a Thai place that hits the spot and has good prices this is the place to go… id suggest to get veggie dishes.

We’ve been coming here for years now, food is great. Some dishes are salty but are good for the most part. Nothing specific to point out, can’t really go wrong with anything you order here.

Food was tasty and good. Ordered crab Rangoon and chicken skewers for appetizers. As for main dishes, ordered pad see-ew, yellow curry shrimp, veggies with baby corn and shrimp with veggies. Some Thai iced coffee to wash it down. Thanks!

I have been here a few times with a hope that they may once serve some flavorful food. Every time I get the Thai basil fried rice, I have no flavor at all. I have to dunk the whole rice with sriracha. Other things are okay, not the best though. They should seriously get to doing things with more flavor into their food. Please.

I’ve heard rave reviews about this restaurant so I wanted to check it out. I came here for dinner on a weekday and ordered the Panang Curry with chicken. The restaurant wasn’t busy that day, so the food came out extremely fast. The curry was cooked in coconut milk, bell pepper and fresh basil leaves. I thought the curry was delicious. It wasn’t as spicy as other thai curries I’ve had before. I’d come back here if I was in Morton Grove or wanted take-out.

I have been ordering lunch from here for a while now and I was finally able dine in this weekend. The location, which is in a strip mall, is small but cozy and well decorated. We came on a Saturday night and I was prepared to wait, but we were greeted and sat right away. I ordered the Pad Thai with Shrimp, which is my favorite dish and as always, I was not disappointed. I have over the years also tried their green and red curry, pad see ew, the tom ka kai soup, and other items, including appetizers. Their food has always been consistently fresh and delicious. I have ordered the Pad Thai at other places expecting the same deliciousness and have been disappointed on several occasions. I will continue to be a loyal customer as long as they continue to make good food.

Had golden bag apps(crab rangoon) and pad see ew with chicken. Everything was really tasty but the portions were smaller than I expected for a hole-in-the-wall thai place. Krua Thai in Glenview and Thai Sookdee in Evanston offer similar thai fare for the same price but larger portions than this place. I’ll probably still come back though since it’s close to home and yummy.
