Well me and my girl spent a lot of our summer out in Morro Bay this 2012 and really enjoy eating at The Cannery … Their clam chowder and food selection, was really good; well this past Saturday 11⁄24 we drove up for the weekend and found out they had closed our fav place down :(we are going to miss the staff and great food … Sad to see it was gone!

Unbeatable view, fish tacos are awesome! Made with catch of the day, this day happened to be swordfish. Yum!

friendly service and a great view. Food was good but amateurish on prep and presentation.

The best thing I had: BBQ Oysters. Truly delicious. 2 stars because everything else was mediocre, especially because the price was so high. The bouillabaisse didn’t taste like anything, and the waiters were friendly but very unfocused and wouldn’t pay attention to us.

As a lover of all foods, I felt the need to write a review about this place. I usually do not write anything but positive reviews, but this place was awful. My boyfriend and I were looking for a delicious place to enjoy seafood and were lured in by the decent tasting free clam chowder samples a nice staff was handing out on Embarcadero. We arrive around 2pm on a Saturday afternoon, so the wait was long to sit down but that was expected at this hour on a beautiful Saturday. We proceeded to order the shrimp scampi and the seafood crêpe. Now, I’m not certain if it was plain carelessness or if it was bad cooking skills, but the seafood crêpe was DISGUSTING! I’m no chef, but it should have been cooked longer because it tasted like nothing but the cheap wine it was cooked in. The flavor was pungent and of strong alcohol. DISGUSTING. The shrimp inside the crêpe were these teeny tiny shrimp that you can buy from a can. This dish had me running to the bathroom, for a day. The shrimp scampi wasn’t as appalling as the seafood«crap» but it was tolerable. The bottomless drinks were mostly ice however, they do offer refills. This place was so disappointing considering the great view it had of Morrow Bay. If you go here, play it safe and order fried dishes or the mediocre tasting clam chowder bowl. The staff was ok, but very busy.

Not a great overall experience. The wait staff was friendly but not focused and did not seem to give the customers much attention. This could have been overlooked if not for the food. The food was not at all appetizing in taste and looks and to top it off we ordered an appetizer and never received it. I would not eat here again and suggest the owner focus more on the restaurant and not talk on the phone(personal calls not business) the entire time.

My wife and I were surprised to find halibut on the menu, which we both love. The price was a stiff $ 36…but it’s a vacation, right! We were shocked when the meal arrived and we found our«halibut» was a cheap piece of cod! After complaining, they gave us a lousy 10% discount and tried to tell us it was«Gulf of Mexico Halibut». Avoid this place!!!
