In the recent past, my wife and I visited Rose’s MANY times. Always considered it the greatest fish & chips & clam chowder on the coast, or anywhere else, for that matter. We had a negative experience there once and we’re told the they had a new chef and that was the new style. We decided not to go back. After a discussion with the manager(she contacted me), she was very nice and invited us back to gene them a second chance as they went back to the old style. We went back twice, with negative results. Well, after several months, we HAD to give them one more try. Guess what! The first, second and third time back(day before yesterday) the dining experiences were excellent! So ATTENTIONEVERYONE who read my previous negative reviews, DISREGARDTHEM! I highly recommend ROSE’S to everyone. Not only is the food great, they have a full bar and GREAT bartenders!

I’ve eaten here a few times and I love it. The garlic fries are the best! My hubby said the clam chowder was really good also. I like the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and it’s not the best but it’s really good! My husband ordered a salad and didn’t care for it because it was all greens and no lettuce.(Spring mix) I would definitely eat there again.

The Fettuccini with shrimp is to die for. The shrimp is so crispy and it’s well seasoned. After trying it here we went somewhere else and got it… So disappointing. Their burgers are great too. Garlic fries are also very good but a little greasy. The service is always fantastic. The people are so friendly. This time the bartender gave us two bags of taffy for no reason. We come to Rose’s every time we come to Morro Bay. I recommend it 10⁄10

This place is great, fresh shellfish, light flaky fish, the bar is the best in the bay with awesome views, get the clams!

I loved Rose’s! The fish and chips is awesome! The clam chowder is average. The garlic fries are a must. I can’t wait to go back. Seriously get the fish and chips though. Great outdoor seating. Food came out in less than 15 minutes. Very good staff. Great lunch destination on the water!

My family called in a reservation for a table near the windows at Rose’s for the Morro Bay Boat Parade this year. The boat parade is a family tradition and we flew across the country to join the rest of our family for the event. Imagine our surprise and disappointment when we were informed upon our arrival that Rose’s doesn’t take reservations and that they had no record of our call. Who took our reservation? They didn’t know. The manager did her best to accommodates us with a table away from the windows, but this really put a damper on the trip. Once seated, the food was pretty decent and the service was fast and friendly, although we were served our entrees before the soups arrived. The manager told us that if they took reservations for next boat parade, they’d happily take ours. This is appreciated, but I’ll definitely have a backup plan in place after this year’s misunderstanding. This was not a great experience, but the staff did their best to make it right. They have a great location for the boat parade and we’ll give it a go next year.

The veggie burger was really good. And the garlic fries were delicious. This was a really cute place to eat. It’s right on the water so you can feed the seagulls and see the seals. A nice stop on the 1.

Ordered Chicken Marsala, must say it was one of the worst meals I have ever had. Sauce was a light cream color(I thought Marsala wine was red) vegetables were overcooked. Food was cold, service poor.

After coming here a few times, there’s some things that need improvement. Every table I’ve been seated at is disgusting. It seems like no one cleans the tables, nor clean up empty plates. The worst part is paying $ 25 for their«top sirloin steak» the size of three fingers. Not the mention it was completely bland. Honestly I could went to Save-Mart and bought the same ingredients and still made a better meal.

Went to Rose’s Bar and Grill for a light lunch. The patio chairs were wet, the service was less than mediocre, and the drinks were subpar. The only good thing was the chowder. If I ever get anything from there again it will surely be take out. We went to Rose’s during the Margarita Festival on 09÷12÷15 around 1:30pm. I’m not sure of our servers name but maybe training the entire serving team would be appropriate.

We returned to Rose’s after receiving a generous gift certificate to try them again. Mind you, we have eaten at this restaurant at least 20 times in the last 5 years. Food is good, not great but it is good. What will stop us from returning? The service. Again, we were met with servers that lack any enthusiasm to provide excellent customer service. They either have no empowerment or just don’t care. The straw that broke the camel’s back … No toy chest! My kids were so upset. They look forward to it. We have chosen to return because of these little junk toys. Who made this awful decision?

Kellie did contact me and emailed me. She said she mailed the certificate immediately after she spoke to me on June 28, 2015. She said she will send me another one and apologized that I did not get the first one. We will try Rose’s Bar and Grill again. We have heard nothing but great things about them. I guess when we went there was a glitch.

Riley was our server and he gave us excellent service, very energetic and attentive. I had the clams with garlic fries and my husband had the ahi salad. Both were really good. We would definitely eat here again.

Delicious clam chowder in a bowl and cup of clam chowder for my husband and side salads for us both! My husband who grew up with clam chowder in New England thought it was excellent! A great little lunch. Although the salad was quite large for a side salad I’m not complaining – the more veggies the better!

Honestly I dont know what all the bad reviews are about??? One of the bad reviews says he’s «been here many times» if you’ve been somewhere«many times» it’s gotta be good, lol We had the beer tasting, which was great beer. My grind had the fish n chips. He said it was the best he’s ever had. My son is having tasty clam chowder and my ahi salad is okay, but I’m still giving five stars because everything else is AMAZING

Thanks, Ashley! Attitude and courtesy makes the difference. Enjoyed my clam chowder sample and was impressed. Not, too rich with subtle hints of ocean, after each taste. When visiting you’ll find Ashley’s cheer refreshing and energizing.

Came here after visiting the Morro Bay sand dunes. The view of Morro Rock is fantasic no matter where you sit, indoors or outdoors. Everyone on staff is helpful, friendly, and welcoming; Multiple servers came to check on my table throughout the dinner. The portions were perfect for all the dishes. But it was recommended that we share the Combo Platter. The bartender, Emily, made me an absolutely delightful Raspberry Kamikaze. Definitely coming back for that drink!

Now part of the Cabo Wabo group the menu has new additions so everyone will have something they will like. Jack was our server and he was great. The whole staff brings their A game.

I’m surprised this restaurant even has the rating they currently have and after seeing the reviews I totally understand the note I saw taped to their computer for the server staff. The note on the computer was telling the staff to drop off comment cards to the satisfied customers and getting them to do a Unilocal review and dropping the name of the server which would get a $ 25 bonus on their next check. I thought hey this is cool of management and I would be happy to do this if the service is good and figured this would of been a good sign of getting good service This is a restaurant I have chosen to take my family to many times in the past and the food used to be so much better in my opinion. One of our favorites was always the Cabo tacos along with sides of the garlic fries. The tacos used to be sold by themselves but awhile back they then started selling them as a meal with beans and rice that taste sub par. Once they changed that we stopped going for awhile because the tacos were our main item we loved plus that visit was not great on service nor food. We gave the place a 2nd chance a few months ago and the service was very poor once again. Today April 26th was the 3rd times a charm and the 3rd and final strike. Normally I do not even give a restaurant a 3rd time, sometimes not even a 2nd but the wife wanted to go. It took about 10 minutes for the hostess to come back and seat us, it took about 20 minutes for our order to even be taken and it wasn’t even by the server but another who came and checked on how we were doing and my wife told her we were being ignored and we should of walked out right then and saved us some grief and money. We ordered the Cabo taco meal to share along with an order of fish and chips. We asked for no red onion on the tacos and when they came to the table they had onions visible, told the server after he came back and he tried to argue with me it was cabbage and not onion. I guess he thinks people cannot taste or tell the difference and if he only knew both my wife and I come from a culinary background… We gave up and just picked them all out of the tacos, the flavor of the tacos themselves were mediocre and the fish was almost nonexistent compared to the past. The fish and chips meal was a little better but has its own set of issues as well. The fish itself was good, batter was crispy and the flavor was good and not greasy just small portions compared to other places. As for the fries it was a greasy mess and the garlic flavor was not there and no Parmesan cheese or salt, was just grease and some chopped parsley. The tartar sauce was even sub par, normally tartar sauce is nice and thick and good tasting, this was watery and bland, it was almost like they might be watering it down to save cost, it was always thick and better tasting in the past. Even the water was poor, I prefer water with a heavy meal but it tasted like it was unfiltered tap water with a horrible taste, I ended up just taking a couple drinks from my wives coke throughout the meal. The only quick service was when they came to clear the plates and then had the check dropped off within the same minute, I stuck my credit card in it and they grabbed that within 30 seconds. This was one of only a couple visits to a restaurant where I refused to leave a tip, I normally leave some sort of a tip being from the restaurant industry and knowing its the main source of income for servers so I normally tip a high percentage if the service is decent but these servers did not put much effort in. Tips for management, do a proper training like you claimed has been done on other review replies, this would include the FOH and BOH, maybe be present more often as well to see how things are running.

The location next to the bay is fantastic. The full bar makes it great. The sea food rocks
