I have only been to another location; today was my first time at this one. I ordered my usual, the artichoke sub. It was ok. Manager added tomatoes & lettuce at no charge which I did appreciate. Yet, this location is strange to me. The room is dimly lit, there is country music blaring through the speakers. It was just an overall very unpleasant experience.

I went there on a coworker’s recommendation Being that it was my first time there. I didn’t know what I wanted. The staff gave me great customer service and I found that the restaurant was very clean so I wouldn’t mind dinning in the next time. But this order was to go. I ordered the Philly cheese steak. I found it to be done exactly the way that I ordered it I will definitely be going back to this place in the near future. Great subs! Great staff! what more could anyone ask for?

Pregnancy craving hit, and to Penn Station I went! I’ve been a handful of times, but years ago and in another state. I work so close but never venture in, until today. The Philly cheese steak did NOT disappoint. My only regret is that I ordered the 6 inch… it’s a good size if you’re not SUPER hungry, but I would definitely recommend ordering a size up. The fries… delicious. Get the malt vinegar and just pour it right on top. Amazing! I’m pretty sure I will be back tomorrow.

Not a good bang for your buck deal. Sandwhich share too small for what you pay. Harris teeter subs still king in my book on footlong Friday’s for bang for buck and they give you sub points. 15 points earned= 1 free Harris Teeter footlong.

Best sandwiches in the Triangle! I work nearby and come here on a regular basis. Always great service and the staff is freindly. You can’t beat their prices for what you get. It’s pretty amazing when they can remember your name and know what you ordered before.

Among their various selections of subs. My favorite is of course the philly cheese! Also try their freshly cut fries too!

The subs here are delish! My favorite is the club. Their bread is always soft and goes great with any of their sandwiches. I love the fresh cut fries with malt vinegar. Their lemonade is freshly squeezed each day and is the perfect mix of sweet and sour. If you have not had a chance to stop in, you definitely should give it a try! The staff is friendly and efficient. I heard there is a third location opening near Cary high school.

Visiting from Northern Kentucky and happened upon Penn Station Restaurant for lunch. We had such a great lunch that we wanted to spread the word. I had the best grilled veggie sandwich on the most delicious bread, I have ever had. And it felt healthy! My lunch partner had the grilled Italian sandwich. She loved it too. Its all fresh and custom made. We were very impressed and want to stop in again before heading home. Fries were delicious also.

Went to the new Penn station at Southpoint mall where the Target is. I got a simple turkey cold sub and took about 15 minutes for me to get it I guess they screwed it up and I thought I wanted a grilled. Not that that was the problem the problem with this place is that they overcharge really stupid tasting subs. Yes I said stupid tasting, the subs are stupid. Even the layout of the place is really weird. I give the order of what I want at the front of the house and then I got to pay for at the back. Whoever did the floorplanning for this chain of restaurants should be shot. After I got my fountain drink, I had to walk past the register to get to my seat. There’s about a 4 foot gap that stretches all the way down to the front door between the kitchen area and dining area. I had to squeeze by other customers just to get to my seat. No wonder this place is called Penn station subs. It tastes like a sub you would get at on a train in NewYork.

YUM! I’ve eaten here twice since discovering this place a little over a week ago. I love that they offer 4 sizes of subs. This means my 12 year old, who eats like a bird, can get a 6″, an 8″ is perfect for me, and the foot longs are perfect for my husband and teenage boys. I have gotten the steak and cheese both times and wow, it’s been a long time since I’ve had one so good! Other members of my family have gotten other subs and all were equally as impressed as I. The fries remind me of Boardwalk Fries, which I have missed, and the boys that work there are polite and helpful. I just wish they were closer to Holly Springs!!! Maybe someday!

Much better than I expected. Came here with a BOGO for signing on to their newsletter. Nice selection of subs to choose from with ample toppings available. On Tuesday’s they come to the table & offer free chocolate chip cookies! Very clean and employees are friendly and welcoming. Look forward to returning to explore the menu.

With so many sandwich places to choose from, I decided to give these guys a try to change things up a bit. I regret my decision. When I arrived and told the guy at the order desk that it was my first time visiting them, he could not have cared less and briskly asked me what I wanted. When I expressed a bit of confusion since it was my first visit, he very impatiently and quickly explained the menu. When I asked for wheat bread, he sniffed«we have only one kind of bread.» The prep time was long even though it was not busy. And the sandwich — as mediocre as it was — was wrapped so tightly that it came out a compressed mass of ordinary-tasting ingredients on white bread. With so many choices, I am most unlikely to return.

Service was ok on my first visit. I had the cheese steak and it was decent. Tried again a few weeks later, ordered the same, but to go and noticed that the onions were not cooked down enough, my order was a bit rushed with no crowd in sight. I don’t think they cooked the meat and onions long enough on the griddle. I also ordered a small fry with malt vinegar on the side. I love this combination at other places, but the malt vinegar had a strange, almost rancid smell. I have a nose of a blood hound and that malt vinegar stunk to high heaven. To say the least, I ended up hungry and unsatisfied in the end. I’m sure it’s either a hit or miss here and don’t plan on returning.

Yesterday my husband and I decided to grab a quick bite at Penn Station Subs before we headed to a movie. This is not the first time I’ve been to Penn Station but each time I’ve visited, I am always very happy with my meal. They offer a variety of sub sizes, ranging from 6″ to 12″. You can choose one of their signature subs or create your own, and there is even a vegetarian option. The hubby and I both decided to get a Philly Cheesesteak; I personally got an 8″ with a small hand-cut fry, and my meal was amazing! The bread is fresh and soft. Both the meat and onions tasted as if they had been season or marinated, which added an unexpected but delicious flavor to the cheesesteak. The fries were hand-cut and fried to crispy perfection! They tasted amazing without any condiments, but I love to cover my fries in malt vinegar so I took the liberty of doing so after a few bites. All in all, our meals were fantastic! Fresh, flavorful, and filling. I would highly recommend Penn Station to anyone who wants a greasy but delicious meal.

My new favorite quick-serve sandwich chain. So far, I’ve had 5 different sandwiches and all have been awesome. My favorite 2 are the Italian and Philly Cheesesteak. The fries are fresh and who doesn’t love the chocolate chunk cookies?

Penn Station East Coast Subs is not like Subway at all! They actually cook food on the grill where all the customers can watch. The quality of this small subs restaurant actually has me liking this place a lot! I actually first thought when walking into the restaurant that I would have a ham and turkey and provolone cheese sub with lettuce and tomato, sort of like what I would get at Subway. Instead I walked into the restaurant, smelling an aroma of many different things on the grill. That’s when I started to get excited! I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak Sub and it was delicious. I had mine with melted cheese and no other toppings, but steak. The meat was tender and had a ton of flavor. The hand cut fries is a factor that makes Penn Station unique. There are not many other sub shops that do French fries. I also got an order of fries and they are amazing! They were seasoned and fried to a golden perfection! Penn Station really impressed me with their food. It was like a party in my mouth!

Am thrilled that there’s finally a Penn Station close to me. This particular location is brand new, and couldn’t wait to stop by. I found the employees very friendly and helpful, and the food was great. They have a large variety of subs to choose from, both hot and cold, in four different sizes, plus a kids meal option. If you are craving something particular, they even offer a «Create Your Own» sandwich where you can do it up your own way from start to finish. Their fries are not the same old stuff you find elsewhere, but hand-cut Idaho potatoes flash-fried in peanut oil, with malt vinegar available with the condiments. I think their prices are competitive with other sub places, like Jersey Mikes. If you get their monthly special, though, you really make out(you get whatever the monthly special sandwich is, along with fries and a drink, for a great price.) If you haven’t ever had a chance to try out Penn Station Subs yet, now’s the time!

This is the third location of Penn Station in the Raleigh area. We heard of the other locations but they are too far from our house to make a trip just for a sub. So we were glad to see this one open nearby(it’s in the new Target center). I tried their chicken philly which was really good. They also cut their own potatoes for their fries. Those were excellent. My pregnant wife really liked them! I also liked that you can get 4 different sizes of their subs, so you’re not limited to 6″ or 12″. The bread was great, and that’s a big part of making a good philly cheesesteak. And they didn’t skimp on the provolone either. I’ll have to try some of their other subs, they had some good options for hot subs that you don’t normally see at other chain sandwich shops. And we’ll definitely be back for the cheesesteaks and french fries.
