Reopened recently, however the quality of the food seems to have suffered a bit. Food is still good, but just a little less of something.

Read reviews gave it benefit of doubt. Well I doubt ill ever return. Staff very friendly. Period. One of 3 tables. Served cold tortilla chips then took quite a long time for food to be served. Green chili enchiladas were also served cold an ok flavor but cheese wasn’t even melted. Think they forgot to heat the food. So very disappointed. Also place was infested with flies. So disgusting fighting them off of cold food Only gave 2 stars because waitress was nice and provided good service. Really rated ½ star

I loved the chili rellenos here. Went there with my family when I was younger and loved it, especially the unlimited chips and salsa. I have to get over there again when I have some time.

This is probably the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. The chili is bland and nothing has great flavor. The waitresses and staff are nice but the food has way more potential.

I pretty much fully agree with the 3 star overall current rating of this place, however if I were to be exact it would probably be 2.75 stars, hah. When we tried the food here I was pretty enthused to start… The exterior gets you pumped as other Mexican restaurants that look like this on the outside usually leave me satisfied(and the giant sculpture thingie’s pretty neat hah). The interior is homey and decently decorated. The chips and salsa are really really good! All the starting signs were good to go… The actual food however left some to be desired… My gf’s cheese enchiladas(which she would rate a 2 if she was the one rating) were too acrid tasting and bland. My chile rellenos were good however the cheese used was a lower quality one(if even real?). You’re expecting refried beans but instead get regular boiled pintos… Definitely a rather strange restaurant food-wise. As at least one other Unilocaler has commented on, the Christian music overhead can get really annoying(or even offensive to some). It was playing loud and clear. They seem to have a lunch buffet too that, from the look of it, seems rather small and pricey for limited options. I was/am wanting to try their pies, however, which they seemed to have a few different kinds of. I’m on the fence as to whether I’d come back here(I say me because my gf probably won’t go with lol)… And it’s a shame since Moriarty doesn’t have many dining options.

Total sh*tbox! Avoid this place. Granted, Moriarty is a one horse town, but even Taco Smell would have been better. Food wasn’t the only unsavory thing about this restaurant either. They were blasting the most ignorant, homophobic, born-again diatribe over the radio. My wife and I could not believe what we were listening to. This place was horrible!!!

Really friendly service. This establishment offers a variety of good home style cooking. The owner was kind enough to introduce herself and expressed her love of cooking. My enchiladas were delicious and came out quick enough to continue on my road trip. Their patty melt is also quite delicious. Overall, I recommend that you stop here if you are a new resident or a tourist.

Food is stale, or undercooked. I ordered a chimichanga. This is a burrito which is deep fried to a crisp on the outside, and hot, gooey on the inside. I ordered the carne adovada chimmy, with green and red on the side, with all the goodies, guacamole, lettuce, tomatoes and onion. Due to my weak stomach, we will not discuss the beans n rice. What I got was something that had been deep fried in dirty rancid oil– to be fair, they did deep fry it– to soggy, oily, tough state. The inside was still frozen in the center, this is not only unsavory, but dangerous especially if you ordered the chicken or the carne adovada selection. The condiments were wilted and old– the onions were wilted and had that«bad onion» taste to them. The service is slow at best. The apparent attitude is one which says«you are here, in a restaurant, on Rt 66– what else do you want». At one time they had an awesome cook — you know who you are!, This gal knew how to run a kitchen. It has been downhill since she left for new horizons. Disappointing at best. Just because you are on historic Rt 66 doesn’t mean the quality has to suffer. Too bad– in every sense of the term. It had changed hands becoming the«Breezy Rain»(appetizing right? NOT– LOL), and when it falied under that owner, the original owners took it back… it is still struggling. Too bad again. The owners are the nicest people, I have to wonder if restaurant burn out isn’t the case. One star for poor food quality, poor service.

We had salad – necessary for long days of road travel. This was our waitress’ first day on the job. She did a good job, except she had to look up the Wi-Fi password. The salsa(homemade) was superb-hot on three levels. I had the New Mexican: spinach, onions, tomatoes, bacon, almonds and chicken/sweet & sour dressing. The other salad was Big Mama’s Big Salad: all the salad veggies/bleu-cheese dressing. Both were tasty. The cook checked in with us and suggested that husband try the Ma’s Salad House Dressing, when we complimented her on the salsa. Use the House Dressing on your salad if you enjoy hot and spicy. Mmmmm. Quiet background music, lots of space. Décor has a SW motif with pound copper wall ornamentation. A real treat!

One of the best restaurants with authentic New Mexican food. Great food & service… Whatever you order make sure it has chile on it :) don’t forget to ask about the history

Wow! Don’t go here. It may be an historic Route 66 icon, but the food is totally Americanized and ridiculously bland. The shredded chicken was probably from a can and not seasoned. The rice tasted like one of those mixes you buy in the grocery store. The salsa was less flavorful than ketchup. The woman who waited on us was lovely, sweet, and attentive, but it seems this family is fully assimilated, and the food suffers for it. My husband reports that the men’s room toilets weren’t working properly, so they had a sign up asking the men to please not flush the paper but to put it in a trash can instead. The can was full of paper and reeked as if it hadn’t been emptied in some time. Wait until Albuquerque to eat if you want a Route 66 classic.

The food is very good, as is the service. If you’re a tourist(like me), it’s worth seeing the go-to place in Moriarty, NM. We’ll be back, and we’d be surprised if you don’t like it.
